My wife and I ate dinner for the first time at the Sullivan’s steakhouse in Naperville (3/16). While the ambience was pleasant and the waiter was very good we were highly disappointed with the food. We each went with their $44 deal that provided an appetizer, steak, vegetable and dessert. The soup lobster bisque was greasy and subpar. Both of our steaks (ordered medium and medium rare) were burnt to a crisp on the outside and over cooked on the inside. And frankly, the desserts (key lime pie, banana pudding) were low-grade. Having just ate at a Ruth’s Chris on Wednesday night (which was perfect) it’s hard to imagine that Sullivan’s would have any return guests (beyond convenience). A waste of $160.
Great service Great food!
Service and food quality has really slipped in the last couple years. Used to be my favorite place to go. Won't be running back. Overall experience is not equal to price of meal.
Wagyu steak was amazing! Service was great and wine list was vast. Can not say enough about this place
Overall solid experience! Arrived early and enjoyed a cocktail, ambiance and music in the bar. Seated on time for our reservation, service and food both excellent, will be back.. thank you!
If you want a great steak in Naperville, Sullivan’s is THE place to go. Have a craft cocktail while you’re at it and don’t forget to order a side of mushrooms.
Exceptional service and the food was a ten out of ten
Food was great. Quick service. Very nice waiter
Great food excellent service nice ambience Good location
The service at Sullivan's was outstanding. The wait staff were extremely attentive, often anticipating our need before we asked. The food was delicious! We hadn't been to Sullivan's in a while and forgot that the sides were such large portions. We ended up taking food home (which isn't a problem), but would have ordered differently if we'd known. We weren't too keen on the ceasar salad, but that's a personal preference. Overall, we enjoyed our dinner, celebrating a special occasion. The ambiance and the personal attention made it a great evening. Sullivan's is expensive, but worth it for that extra special reason to celebrate.
I have always loved to go to Sullivan's. Love the Knockouts and cheesesteak egg rolls. However, they really had a bad night this time. Two of our steaks, not cooked properly...one under cooked, one over cooked. One of the steaks, bone in filet $65, was so fatty, it was hard get a knife through it. The steak that was over cooked, took forever to come back...everyone else was done with their entrees. We had a dozen oysters, one of them literally was empty. They did take one of the steaks off the bill but, in my opinion, should have done much more as this loyal customer is now in no hurry to go back.
Great relaxing evening service & food was excellent with quiet surroundings for our anniversary.
Excellent all around, as usual. Service was impeccable; food perfect
We had a great evening celebrating friend’s birthday- excellent !!! service, ambiance and food
Will def be back again!
Pris fixe menu is awesome value too!
Drive 80 miles each way to your restaurant. First time!!! We will be back!!!
Excellent food, ambiance,
Price was commensurate with service and food
Delicious quality food. Service was excellent. Surely pricy but if you are celebrating and want to make it memorable then it's a nice choice. You can request special needs if any in advance. Reservation recommended.
dined here with friends for birthdays and Sullivans staff did a great job making it a wonderful experience
Good service and good mood for special occasion such as wedding aniversity or friends meet-up
It was our anniversary. When making the reservations I asked for a booth in a quite part of the restaurant. Did not happen. Steak was over cooked. Beer glass was steaming hot. Waiter came to take our picture, camera was not charged no picture no take home frames available.
very nice steakhouse in the heart of Naperville. one of best restaurants in town, IMO.
We went to Sullivans for birthday a week ago. There was a cute happy birthday card on our table and we were looking forward to a nice evening. Unfortunately everything went down hill from there. We ordered prix fixe meals and one separate appetizer. The kitchen was apparently not having a good night because we were asked if they could give us our soup & salad course before the appetizer. We said no. The appetizer finally came and then the soup/salad almost immediately. We were just finishing the soup & salad and our entrees were brought out. The entrees were both way over seasoned and the manager indicated he would buy us dessert since we didn’t want replacement meals. That would have been a nice gesture except a complimentary dessert is usually provided anyway when you are celebrating a special occasion and we had order the prix fixe meals which included a dessert. The birthday dessert came but we had to ask about our dinner desserts which our server appeared to have forgotten about. We asked if they would adjust the dinner prices since we had been given the complimentary birthday dessert but were told no they couldn’t do that. So we asked for the desserts to go. Sullivans is not an inexpensive place to have dinner and we have had good dinners here which is why we went back for my birthday. Unfortunately the food and overall experience this time were substandard. My husband completed a survey for the restaurant and explained what i have explained here, the manager called me and apologized and offered to send us something for next time we came in. I said that wasn’t necessary but he insisted that he wanted to do this for us. Nothing yet...
Nice quiet dinner in the bar with my wife.
Food was very expensive and only mediocre. Steak was undercooked and the cheesie potatoes only had a thin layer of cheese on them. Beer was warm and no draft beer available. Calamari was impressive but entire meal was $160 for 2 people and there are better steakhouses in Naperville for less price and better quality food and service. Hugos, The Opera House (Plainfield) just to name a few.
The Salmon was delicious but the Wagyu steak was a little tougher than described. Beautiful place with a great atmosphere and wait staff.
Great food and great service
I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone, we had two servers who looked too busy for us, at one point two people in our party went to the bar for drinks, cold soup, not enough soup spoons and food was delivered to the wrong person with everything we ordered. They did not have drinks we asked for and our water glasses were frequently empty. The plate presentation was very poor, steak was dry and portions are way smaller from when I was there last. Too over priced and I have yet to hear back from them regarding my complaints. The only thing that came to the table on time was the check. I will not go back and I regret spending so much on a meal I could have made better at home.
Our server was attentive and responsive...food was excellent and the ambiance above board
We have fun celebrating my birthday dinner. The server did a great job making sure that we are being taking care of whatever we need to make my B-day dinner special. The lump cake is super delicious. It was to die for. We have been coming back and forth to Sullivan Steakhouse whether it is for a simple lunch or special occasion. We love it here. And we will highly recommend this place to our friends.
Our server, Austin, was excellent in his attention to the details of being an inviting server. In addition, Austin was confident in his knowledge of the food and wine. He was a friendly and warm person who acted as if he cared about his position at the restaurant. Overall, we felt as if we were being taken care of all night. Kudos to Austin and Sullivan’s for making our evening delicious and welcoming!
3 of us dined on a rainy weeknight, in which the restaurant was not very full. The greeter at the door not very hospitable and just lead us to a table. We all had ordered steaks which were well prepared... but service was awful. For a restaurant that is fairly pricey with all items ala cart it was disappointing.
Excellent food and service. Cindy and Michael (manager) made our evening quite enjoyable.
We made an online reservation for Sullivan's Steakhouse in Naperville to celebrate our Granddaughter's 21st Birthday. We had indicated in our reservation what the event was and to our delight they were prepared. There was a Birthday card from them on the table and a fabulous list of desserts she could choose from as a gift in the end. The meal was outstanding!! The steaks were cooked to perfection and the service was perfection!! The manager came to our table several times during our visit and thanked us for choosing Sullivan's. We were totally impressed and will be back again!!! Thank you Sullivan's for an amazing dining experience!
Always fantastic food, service, and drinks! Knockouts are the best.
Fantastic. Our server suggested the calamari appetizer and it was delicious.
Everything was great! Food is pricey but worth it!
This was the second time my husband and I went to Sullivan's stake house in Naperville. We were not happy after the first time, but we had a gift card for this restaurant, so decided to go the second time. The food, especially stake, should be exceptional, because this is the stake house, but my husband sad it was not tasty, too much with fat. My sea bass with bock choy in some asian sauce was good, but sooo pricy. Also we ordered some drinks (two cocktails) and sea food combo as a antrey.
The real shock was the price. For lousy food and service we paid more than expected. This was our last time in this restaurant.
I would never recommend Sullivan's. Average food and service!
