I was not impressed. We ordered the three course meal, and it was just ok. I had the salmon and asparagus. The asparagus was very plain and tasteless but the salmon was cooked just right. The choices were very limited on the special menu. It came with soup or salad and dessert. Nothing special about the meal but it was quality food. I would say there are other steak restaurants that I prefer.
Sullivan's restaurant is always a great place with quality service and foods for special occasions. I would highly recommend if you are looking for a romantic atmosphere for you and a significant other that you visit this restaurant. Food quality of my steaks along with the generous side dishes have always been excellent. I truly enjoy enhancing my steak with the Oscar which includes asparagus and crab meat. Typical red wine but I enjoy a Vodka gimlet before the meal. Quality of service compliments the food. Ambience is quiet in order to have a great conversation throughout the evening. Very easy to find and must find.
It was my birthday day dinner with my family and I chose Sullivan’s . I am writing this not to complain , but for management to be aware . The 2 ladies that were assigned to our table were very nice to us , however the service could have been much better . Waiting very Long waits for drinks to come to our table was a bit frustrating , the salads came out and no bread baskets were presented until I asked for them . They forgot my backed potato etc .... As I understand this is a very hard job I overlooked and still tipped them 20% . However if Sullivan’s wants to compete with other fine dining restaurants they must be more aware of there mistakes and correct them so a customer will keep coming back .
This was my first time at Sullivan's for dinner and I must say it was nothing less than excellent! There were six of us having dinner and everyone had a wonderful time. The food was very good although a bit higher than your typical steak house. However, it was still worth the price for a special occasion. I would also recommend the happy hour during the week as I have been here many times and the ambiance is wonderful. At $7 for drinks and appetizers its a great place to go after work and unwind.
Food took too long. We missed our movie due to the long wait for our food
Outstanding steakhouse! Great service ! Five stars !!!!!
For the cost of dining, I have had better. Crab and lobster bisque was good as was the filet mignon. Mashed potatoes were not that tasty and served just slightly warm. Bananas Foster dessert was not what I expected and was disappointing. Nicely appointed restaurant. Easy parking. Wait staff was attentive.
Had a wonderful evening dinner at Sullivans. Staff was amazing and the ambiance was nice and quiet. Highly recommend the Salmon.
This is our favorite place to go for special occasions. The food is always wonderful, and they have the best wait staff, always ready to offer suggestions, recommend wine, check for special requests etc. Kevin, who waited on us this time, definitely enhanced the dining experience.
Great food and service!
Valentine Day Dinner was incredible, the Lobster "HUGE" as was prepared amazing, bone in KC Strip was tasty and as tender as one could imagine. Service received from "Jeri" was top notch and her recommendations were spot on. This is our #1 from on!
Had reservation on Valentine’s Day and showed up to find out we could only order off limited menu. Seafood on the seafood tower app was very subpar (not-so-jumbo shrimp, skimpy oysters, and they shorted us 2 shrimp), steak had to be refired after they over cooked the first one (by quite a bit). Overall very disappointed and this steakhouse fell well short of its peers. Had been there in the past and had better experience. This one fell well short of its peers. Too many good steakhouses in Chicago. Won’t be back.
Great service, caring staff, excellent food. What more could you ask!
We thoroughly enjoyed our evening.
Food was excellent and the service was great. Really enjoyed my time there.
Valentine’s Day dinner was delicious, food awesome, service top notch; but minus 1 star because my date was seated facing kitchen door only about 15’ away. $100 per person is ok for nice valentines dinner but felt like we were in the “over-flow” room or something. Really killed the mood, was hoping for nice view of lake. Would have been nice to be asked if we needed lake view or not. Would have paid $100 more for view and memorable, enjoyable valentines dinner.
We waited for good 15-20 minutes because they 'settled tables.' The food was fine, nothing extraordinary, but steak was prepared as asked. Apparently, the waiter was new. I ordered king crab legs, and they were brought uncracked and without a tool to crack them. When the waiter stopped by in 40 sec after food was served, I asked him how should I eat my crab. He glanced and said that legs should be pre-cracked and disappeared. Then shift manager stopped by and took my dish to the chef to crack those crab legs. In between appetizer and main entree, another waiter stopped by our table asked my son if his food should be packed and gathered all bread plates and forks intended for a main course. Hopefully, he took them to a dishwasher, because I actually used that bread plate. The place is quiet, and have a lot of space and a huge wine list. The music in the bar was pleasant. I will try to attend this restaurant on another day/time, and hopefully I'll meet more experienced waiter staff.
Made reservations for a booth, was 10 minutes late, great front desk greeting, nice bar area, manager following up with patrons,Katie is a great server (macncheese)...complimentary birthday key lime pie...clean tables, clean dining dishes and utensils, vegetarian selection ....great overall experience
Great food although a bit on the pricey side. Only complaint, we were celebrating multiple birthdays and they told us to pick a dessert which they brought out and then they brought another one which we assumed was because we were celebrating three birthdays. When the check came the first dessert was complimentary but the 2nd they charged us for. We did not ask for the second dessert, waiter just showed up at table with it like he was trying to do something nice. Shame on them for charging us for something we did not ask for!
Our waitress was so sweet.
Great food, little pricy.
