Thank you for helping us with our reservation increasing from 6 to 8 people during restaurant week! Incredible service and food for our life long group of friends.
Overpriced for very ordinary food. Won't be back and wouldn't recommend.
Food was amazing! Steak was tender and cooked to perfection. Our server was awesome but he seemed a little over whelmed that night so took a long time to get anything especially water refills. But aside from that, super happy with the experience and definitely one of the best steaks I’ve ever had!
We ate out on the heated patio. We do not like eating inside as the noise level is too high and tables are close together
Great happy hour appetizers and drinks. Danny(female) bartender is terrific at her mixology skills. She is friendly even though she was so busy she didn’t stop. Dining room was busy because of restaurant week but food was superb as always. This is one of our favorite restaurants and it was delicious. I love the way the staff chips in to help one another and assist customers when needed. Jeramy, our server was very busy and did a good job.
We went for Restaurant Week and it did not disappoint. The food and service were great. The courses were timed perfectly and tasted wonderful. My filet was perfect, along with wedge salad & bananas foster bread pudding were both delicious. My friend had the salmon with shrimp/lobster bisque and loved it. Our server, Vance, was the best! He answered all of our questions, kept our glasses full and made sure we had an overall great dining experience. All of the staff was very attentive and friendly. Atmosphere was classy and comfortable. Highly recommend.
Wonderful evening! Everything was beyond our expectations. Everyone wanted to make sure we were enjoying our experience. The steaks were the best we had ever had.
We arrived a little early due to the weather. Our server seemed to be in a hurry to serve us and get our selections placed, so we "could move on" and free up the table. That being said, again, we were a little early and many, many tables were not in use at the time. I had to send my steak back as it was not med-rare as requested. It came back in just a few minutes in perfect condition. We enjoyed our dinner, as usual at Sullivan's and will be back on another occasion.
Loved the food and atmosphere. I will recommend to all the foodies I know.
This was my first time at Sullivan’s, brought two friends for restaurant week. We expected it to be busy, and to give grace to the server, as we have been servers before. But for some reason our server was less than friendly, and did not seem to want to give us good service. Then we also let a couple of the hosts know, but it really didn’t seem to matter to them. I am normally a very understanding diner, but this was very baffling for a restaurant. We more than likely we won’t return.
It was my husband's birthday, & we were presented a gift certificate for the dinner. We had to wait way too long to receive each course of our meal. The waiter was very personable and courteous, but he brought me the wrong dish initially! My husband had asked for his steak to be cooked medium well, although it came out too red & was taken back. After waiting longer than expected, we both got our meals...however the mashed potatoes were cold, & green beans were quite crunchy. He advised that the potatoes were cold, and taken back, only to be brought back still cold! I was pleased with my dish (salmon) as well as the ribeye steak my husband had, but he was disappointed that he could only enjoy the steak...We won't be visiting again! This was our first time here! The menu was special due to it being "Restaurant Week ". After informing the restaurant during reservation that it was his birthday, I also told the waiter when he came to take our order. Not until I brought it up at the end of the night, was there any real acknowledgment of his bday. The waiter was able to get our drinks comped for us which was much appreciated!
Experienced this restaurant for the first time during KC Restaurant Week. The food was incredible. They seemed very flustered with the quantity of people they were serving, but our server was pleasant. I will definitely visit again.
We enjoy Sullivan’s and always go during restaurant week for the good value. Our waiter seemed to want to rush us through though (our reservation was for 8:00, so doubtful table was booked after us). When he served us our drinks and we said we’d wait a few minutes to order dinner, he warned us that they were very busy and if we waited to order it might be an hour before our food arrived! Food was very good, although potatoes were cold and a bit runny. (Quickly replaced with slightly warmer ones)
The restaurant was very busy, but out table was ready for us at the time we reserved. Our server, Natalie, was friendly and attentive without being intrusive. Our food was delicious and prepared as ordered. The decor is tasteful and the ambiance is good. Our only negative comment is that it was a bit loud. That won’t keep us from coming back though. The positives far outweigh the one negative.
Visited during restaurant week so our service was really slow. My steak was delicious, however my mashed potatoes and green beans were bland. I was really upset that they charged me 8.99 for about 10-15 blueberries, raspberries and sliced strawberries.
We went for Restaurant Week and everything was delicious. We usually do not get dessert when going out to eat because it is too much food. So to make room for dessert, I brought home half of my filet, mashed potatoes and green beans and enjoyed a second dinner the next night. My husband and I both thought the bananas foster bread pudding was great! And both of our salads were delicious as well - the iceberg lettuce wedge and the market fresh greens. Both of us are looking forward to a return visit to Sullivan’s.
We went in for Restaurant Week and had a great experience with Fred! Food was great, drinks were delicious and the overall experience was wonderful. We will definitely will be coming back.
What a wonderful place for date night! Steak was amazing and the service was too notch !
As always, great food and our server was delightful
This was by far the best steak, service, and value. This has been the best date/dinner my wife and I have ever been on. I highly recommend it and I was extremely satisfied. Justin was our waiter and he was amazing as well!
Our reservation was in Tuesday during restaurant week. The mashed potatoes were cold and the green beans were fair. The steak was cooked properly but no flavor. The waiter was very brusk and unfriendly. The wine pour was pretty pitiful. We have been to Sullivan’s to eat many times. The food and service are usually outstanding but this was really sub-par for them. If I had gone during restaurant week for the first time to try it out, this experience would not make me want to return. We were very disappointed.
Food and food service were fantastic...as was the hostess! Extremely slow service in the bar...25 minutes from the time we sat down in the bar to the time of drinks were served at our dining table. Also, our party of 4 was seated at a long, horseshoe- shaped booth which is not conducive to visiting.
You know that you'll always have an excellent time at Sullivan's. The food is absolutely the best.
Food was marginal at best, my wife ordered a mw fillet was too red and after At least 15 minutes it came back wd and dry as an over cooked roast! No flavor to my ribeye as well. Lobster bisque soup was a weak tomato soup with maybe two pieces of whatever fake seafood item in it and hot bowl warm to eat. Bread and desserts were the best part of meal. Waitress seemed offended we ordered from the KCW menu?! She was ok but not into it.
We had enjoyed your restaurant in the past, but were very disappointed this time.
The meal was fabulous and a very generous portion during restaurant week.
The food was very good and the ambience was nice and elegant. It was worth trying during restaurant week as the menu is a decent value vs their normal menu.
We went to Sullivan’s Steakhouse for Restaurant week. We had never been there before and wanted to try it as had heard good things about the food. We had a reservation and they were ready for us, took our coats, and seated us once our party was there. They had live music which was kind of a nice surprise. We were seated in a nice bright section where we could hear each other and see the menu. The food was very good- nice portion sizes and quality food. The waiter was very good and was attentive but not over bearing. We would definitely come back.
We came during restaurant week and had a great meal. The perfect patron margarita was amazing! Our server Fred was awesome.
All of our food was delicious. Great drinks from the bar, prepared just as we requested. Hosts were friendly and very patient with getting all of us to the table. Staff is very relaxed in this busy place so we relaxed in the moment. We will return again.
We went to Sullivan’ for Restaurant week. I had the filet. It was good and cooked to my liking. It was tender. Not mind blowing but good. Our waitress, Molly , was attentive and had great recommendations.
My husband had the filet mignon. He said it was excellent. I had the salmon. It was also very good. Our server was excellent as well. Very impressive.
The food was quite good, but the service was poor. Our waiter seemed to be in a hurry, giving us the impression of being an inconvenience. The specials were rushed through. I had to ask twice for wine menu. We ordered the prix fixe and the courses were rushed. My dessert was brought out before my wife finished her entree. We were not offered coffee or drinks with dessert.
The food was absolutely amazing and our waiter provided a fantastic dining experience! We will definitely be back!
New Years eve special was only option so set menu should have been good
Hour behind reservation time
Food over cooked and not hot
Drinks super slow and small poor
New years eve. I expect crazy busy and tons of people, but I don't expect the RESTAURANT to be unprepared. Very poor and slow service.
In all fairness, it was New Years Eve and extremely crowded. Our reservation was 7:30 and we weren’t seated until after eight. We weren’t finished with our meal until 10:30 because they were so busy and service was very slow. Also we didn’t realize that there was a limited menu until we got there which was ok but not great and it cost us $230 at the end. The food was adequate but not wonderful. With so many great choices of restaurants in Overland Park, we probably won’t attempt another visit to this one.
Went to dinner for New Year’s Eve. We walked in and up to the hostess stand, the hostess was there but didn’t greet us just walk away without saying a word, no “ I’ll be right back” nothing. Not welcoming at all.
The prefixed menu was great. Had a nice variety of choices. Although the food was just good. My husbands steak was way over cooked. Didn’t send it back (our choice not too) we didn’t want you wait for another one. The service was good it just was taking forever to get each course. Probably try someplace else next year.
We went on New Years Eve. We didn’t realize that they were having a set menu at a set price but the food was great as always
We came to Sullivan's for New Year's eve. They sat the 4 of us in a very small booth that really should have only been for 2 adults. On Open Table, it did not say that the normal menu was not available, so we were a bit surprised to learn we could only order from the special menu. However, we got past that. The server stood about 2-3 feet back from our table at all times and we had a very hard time hearing him and him us. The special menu really was extremely limited in choices. When asked if we could have mashed potatoes without horseradish, we were told that there was just a hint and we wouldn't even know it was in there. That definitely was not the case. There was so much horseradish we couldn't eat the potatoes. 2 of us got filet's that were tender, but had absolutely no flavor to them at all. Our water glasses were never filled up nor our plates removed without asking. Half the time our server couldn't be seen. I'm not one that usually writes reviews and will let most things go. However, since we paid $85 per person, not including drinks, this meal was extremely overpriced and underrated. I had heard such good things about Sullivan's, I was willing to pay, but will certainly not be returning again.
