I really wanted to like this place, but it just didn’t stand up to it’s price point or reputation. Wrong drink, wrong potatoes, Caesar salad was 5 whole leaves of romaine on a plate... now the bananas foster and the lobster bisque were great, but definitely not worth the overall price of the meal. Server was attentive, but constantly having to apologize. I may consider stopping in for a cup of soup or dessert in the bar, but would not drop the $$ for a full meal again.
Excellent, fun waiter
Great birthday celebration for my daughter
I had brought clients for dinner and Sullivan's was recommended. The staff did an exceptional job providing a quiet corner of the restaurant and helping me with my requests. Thank you!
Fantastic food and service! We started with cocktails and an Oyster Rockefeller appetizer which was delicious on the patio outside and our server Rachel was great and friendly and efficient. Our dinner was a birthday celebration and it was fabulous. Our server was Christian and he was fabulous! Our table was decorated and a birthday card was there from the staff. Matt the manager that evening was super friendly and made sure we were being well taken care of and truly seemed as if he cared. The prime rib was cooked to perfection as was the filet. The wedge salads at this restaurant are the best with a lot of blue cheese and wonderful dressing and bacon. Sides were great and dessert was to die for! Banana Foster bread pudding with ice cream was such a hit we had to take our complimentary birthday dessert home to share. Large portions, wonderful cocktails and Blanton’s served clean were a huge hit. Thank you Matt, Christian, Rachel and the hostess that seated us at a booth we requested for making this a memorable birthday and dinner. We will be back. Everything and everyone made it special.
All was great until the last 5 minutes when the waiter let known his true feelings of disdain for us! Kinda tainted the experience. Left feeling bad.
Took clients to dinner at Sullivan’s tonight. We had a few different servers and it was inconsistent. Not sure what was going. The final we had was new and seemed lost.
The food was very good which helped with the poor service.
As usual, the food and service was terrific. Sullivan’s people always greet us and take good care of us. We love celebrating special occasions or any excuse with them.
Service and food was excellent. They were very accommodating when we added an additional person to our reservation... overall memorable experience.
Get the long bone in ribeye and you'll never eat another steak again.
Fabulous evening, topped off with excellent service!!
Wagyu Steak was horrible, not a real Wagyu Steak, tuff, full of gristle! Filet mignon was good, Asparagus was over cooked, Scalloped potatoes were ok. Service was very good, manager was very cordial to my request exchange the Wagyu steak. Will not return, but everyone needs experience the restaurant themselves!
Nice waiter. Prompt service. Was by kitchen donut was a little noisy hearing the wait staff chat. Food was good. Expensive. But good.
Food was excellent and our server was really wonderful.
Premium meal and service
We were party of 9 so we got the private room for us. It was really quite and staff is very friendly. Food and drinks were also very good.
Victoria and Claire did a wonderful job taking care of our party. We had a great experience and will definitely come again!
Our steak was cooked perfectly & the salmon, salads, wine was fabulous
Everything was outstanding. Except we did noIt care for the horseradish in the mashed potatoes. Would have given it all 5 stars except for that
Steak was great. Staff very accommodating. Was very cold in dinning room and music was distracting
We were completely ignored for 20 minutes after being seated. It was not even half full at the time. We received water, and that was it. We finally asked the staff if anyone was going to help us. They gathered and said they forgot us, with an apology and reply of 2 appetizers on them. We ordered oysters. They were shucked with shell fragments in the oysters and a package of crackers already opened. Another package was totally crushed. They apologized. Dinner came, GREAT steaks, but wine arrived when meal was nearly finished. This place was a mess in service, from beginning to exit. For what you pay, we walked out extremely frustrated and won’t be back.
Wonderful specialty bourbon drinks and meat/cheeseboard and filet bites during Happy Hour. The KC Strip was very tasty and well seasoned. Others steaks were very good also. The chocolate meltdown was very tasty but a little too much chocolate for some but everyone liked sharing the bananas foster bread pudding.
the calamari perfect not rubberi or to must spice just perfect the lobster biksquet close to what you will get at the coast and the steak perfect, just a awesome place to go
Service was great. It was so hard to hear. We asked if they would slide the windows closed behind us but they said no.
I ordered a filet medium and it came out well done, then they went back and grilled another one for me (while the other 3 people in our party ate) and it came out rare. Had to send it back a second time. They were over the top nice about it and clearly devastated. Guessing the chef was having a bad night. They did comp my steak which was the right thing to do. Still would have enjoyed having dinner with our guests. Was a bit embarrassing.
It was difficult hearing but we enjoyed our evening. Our server was wonderful
On the occasion of my 75th birthday, I was served one of the worst tasting Filet Mignon's I have ever eaten. The meat was tender but had little flavor & tasted mealy. Prior to ordering I asked our waiter what the grade of beef was for this Filet. He responded that the cut was not " Prime " but " Choice + ". I am not familiar with a + classification but was comfortable with ordering this menu item. I must say for the cost of $125, I was very disappointed with this dining experience. We have dined several times at Sullivan's in the past but Tuesday's experience left us dis-satisfied.
My husband and I made a reservation for dinner at Sullivan’s for our 25th anniversary. When we arrived, our table was ready for us with rose petals and a lovely anniversary card. Our food was amazing and we were treated with a delicious dessert at the end of our meal! We left full, happy, and appreciative for such a wonderful anniversary meal!
My husband and I went for the Prime Rib for my birthday and it was the best we’ve ever had!
We’ve been talking about it for three days!!
I was given the nicest attention!
Thanks to all!
We will be back soon!
Straightforward steakhouse. With total lack of competition in the Southern JoCo area, it does just fine for a quality steak meal out.
Always nice to go to Sullivan's but we did have a couple hiccups this time. My wife ordered a drink mistakenly thinking it was her usual but when it came she realized it was not what she wanted. We let the waiter know we made a mistake and ordered what she wanted. The waiter took the drink back and brought us the correct drink. Our mistake for sure but he charged us for the mistake drink. He also charged us for 2 crab cake aps and we only had one.
Service by Austin was great.
Dining at Sullivan's was a real treat. Our server was excellent as well as the food.
We truly enjoyed our visit to Sullivan's for an anniversary dinner. Their service team really shined and went out of their way to ensure our enjoyment.
It was a great night out. Treat for my daughter's birthday. Service, food and drinks were perfect.
Fabulous business lunch menu
Quick fantastic service & steak cooked to perfection
Very amazing restaurant and would come again!
Professional is the way my husband and I described our anniversary dinner at Sullivan's Steakhouse. My husband had the filet mignon. He said it was the best steak he has ever had!! I had the salmon and it was also good.
Justin was our server. We have not had such a great waiter in a very long time. He was on top of his game. He was great. I would request him again for a server.
Since it was our anniversary, they even took our picture and put it in a folder.
Everyone at the restaurant made us feel welcome and important.
If you have never been to Sullivan's, you need to go. You will be impressed!!
I know that we had a server that was on her 2nd day but the service was the slowest we have ever had there. We had to ask many times for things= then all was given their salads but one person, who had to wait. Then all was served their food except one - had to wait. The restaurant was NOT busy but we had out of town guests and I was extremely disappointed and embarrassed.
Food was good but the rest really lacked in what we have come to expect from Sullivan's. Even to the point of getting our check and paying our bill.
Our visit today was below average. It seemed our sever lacked training, when asked what drinks were on happy hour she rolled her eyes, when asked for an extra plate (so all members of our party had one for shared appetizers) she rolled her eyes. She completely forgot about the drinks that were ordered. When asked about food menu items she had to leave the table to seek clarification on the items.
It was not busy when we were there and it appeared the 3 other tables were all having a similar experience (one even bused their own dishes). Today was an a subpar dining experience. It has been awhile since I have been to Sullivan’s so not sure if this is their new normal or just a bad experience, our experiences before have all been enjoyable.
