Food was really just ok, lacked flavor and the ribeye was tough even ordered med rare. Value Not close to the price point.
Seated at booth after requesting. Server very attentive without hovering over us. Food was served red hot with steaks cooked exactly as ordered. Very good dining experience.
Food was excellent as always. Server was great just a little slow. And they kept the room a little too dark for my liking. But overall excellent. Sullivans never disappoints!
Great service and terrific food...made my husband’s bday very special!!!!
We've dined here before but this time we had a super-early dinner. We received the same warm greeting and exemplary service as always. Our meal was flavorful and we savored every bite. Then, dessert came and we were blown-away! Highly recommend this 1st class dining experience.
We all thoroughly enjoyed our meal at Sullivans. My son started with the Ahi tuna appetizer, which he enjoyed but said the sauce served under the tuna was too spicy. My husband & I each had the wedge salad, which we thoroughly enjoyed. Sullivan’s has the best Blue Cheese dressing I have ever tasted...not too thick with a high quality blue cheese. My son & I shared the 12 oz. filet which was slightly undercooked but our server had us cut into the steak when she brought it to the table & they were able to cook it more without a wait. My son had the cheesecake for dessert. I prefer the banana bread pudding, as I feel it is a more special dessert. They have a nice wine list, although pricey by the glass. Our server, Heather was both accommodating & attentive. A very satisfying dining experience.
My husband was the only one to enjoy his meal (lobster tail). Our waiter forgot to bring bread for the table and took too long to come back to checking with us. I had the prime rib which was very fatty and had very little flavor. Even the garlic mashed potatoes were bland. My daughter had the rack of lamb which was a little over cooked. The bananas foster bread pudding was delicious, but a little rich with the caramel sauce (I definitely should have gotten the ice cream to go along with it). My husband and daughter loved the key lime pie.
It used to be a special experience for us to go to Sullivan’s but not this time. Very disappointed in the changes.
Chaotic, terrible food, overpriced, it's a tourist trap. Stay away
Our last two visits to Sullivans have been a bit disappointing. I had the bone in ribeye, and it was tough. Not worth the $50 I thought. Service wasn't great either. Bread came after salads, had to wait for steak knives to be delivered after our main course was delivered. Small items, but I think we'll move on to other places going forward.
Our first and last time...food was good (despite burnt baked potatoes and terrible “key lime” pie) but service was terrible; 3 hours for a steak dinner? Didn’t explain the menu, slow with taking order, brought the wrong wine, long delay in entrees, cold cappuccino and then a manager came over and told me I dropped my credit card on the floor when I had given it to the waiter to pay the bill! Not worth the money at all - won’t be back!
As always, service and meal are awesome! We make a point to be here almost once a month!
The food and the service were average. Not worth the price.
The steak I ordered was very small and the taste was no better than what I could cook myself. Also, the fries came out over salted (I returned them). I will definitely not be returning. It was not worth the cost. I have experienced much better value at Mortons.
Again, the food is good but the service leaves a lot to be desired. I would expect much better service for such an expensive restaurant. They need to take lessons from the restaurant next door.
Staff was very attentive
Ramon, our server, was outstanding. He was attentive, timely and very engaging. He was knowledgeable about all menu items and wines we asked about. The caesar salads were perfectly dressed and the parmesan cheese/bread crouton delicious. Our filets were cooked as ordered and tasty. Our desserts were the best! Chocolate Sensation was a chocolate lover’s dream and the Nutella creme brulee a sumptuous take on the classic spread. We live in Raleigh, NC and have been to Sullivan’s there several times. This experience exceeded any we had at that location.
The food is always excellent, seasoned exactly right. This is my go to restaurant for special occasions.
Don’t go there if you have a large party Of over 10 it took over five hours to be served our meal . When served it was lukewarm. I will not be going back
Great food, excellent service, a little bit too loud.
It was quiet and subdued but I enjoyed this. The food was delicious however the filet was actually cooked to medium rare instead of medium like I ordered. It was still delicious in spite of this.
The service was great. Our food was so delicious. They brought out hot fresh baked bread. The mixed greens salad was great. I enjoyed my Delmonico steak and the garlic mashed potatoes.
Food and service were mediocre. Try Capital Grill instead.
We were there to celebrate our anniversary and it didn’t disappoint. While definitely outside our every day budget, it was a beautiful spot for a special occasion. We even got a free dessert
Bartenders were unattentive on a very slow evening which was disappointing.
We chose Sullivan’s for a special occasion. Don’t frequent because of the expense. The meals were delicious, as were the desserts & cocktails. My husband was very disappointed by ordering 3 drinks that were on the list but not available. The servers were helpful and courteous but gushed a bit when telling us what was good. We will be back for special occasions. Thank you and best wishes for continued success.
The business man special is very attractive and price accordingly.
The food was over cooked and just lacking
Overall good experience: Steaks were amazing as always. Mixed drinks and appetizers were excellent. Brussel sprouts were bland / not roasted long enough and didn’t have enough sauce/seasoning. Desserts were a disappointment. Underwhelming... key lime pie, Nutella creme brûlée. There’s so many excellent fine dining choices nearby.. that are strong in all areas.
Eddie Vs, Morton’s, Capital Grill and Legal Sea Food. Would like to see the sides and desserts executed better.
The restaurant is under new management and you can tell. I took an out of town guest to this restaurant and I raved about it. I was totally embarrassed. The food was not good nor close to being good. The waitress was very kind, hospitable and apologized profusely. However, it wasn't her fault. Given the price to eat at Sullivan's it's not worth going to unless they get better management or chefs.
Food was great as usual. We were there to celebrate my wifes birthday. Would definitely go again!
Disappointed they ran out of mashed potatoes but did make up for it by giving extra sides. Also apparent they also ran out of bread so we received small round break which was hard
I have made several hundred reservations on opentable and never complained. I went on Mother’s Day with my mom and sister (who has managed restaurants and rarely has off on a holiday to enjoy a meal). We waited a bit to be seated and longer than normal for things but it was a holiday so that’s ok. What isn’t ok is for the restaurant to be out of 3 items we ordered. The manager came over AFTER we asked to speak to him. I can forgive a lot but a halfhearted apology-,blaming the busy weekend and the chef for improper ordering ,did not cut it. Hello it was a holiday look at last year and the reservations and plan accordingly that is the job of the GM. Then to not even check back or comp a dessert- seriously? There are too many great service and food restaurants in KOP for that
The food we did get was very good and our server Was awesome.
I brought my mother out to Sullivan’s for Mother’s Day Dinner. The menu was very enticing, and our waitress was very pleasant, however the ambience was lacking. The noise level coming from the kitchen was overbearing. It sounded like plates were being thrown around and multiple times we heard ones break. The food was very well seasoned, and the sides were delicious, but the temperature of our steaks were well over. Both my mother’s fillet and boyfriend’s ribeye were overcooked and dry. The waitstaff seemed very uncomfortable and lacked focus due to having too many tables. It also seemed as though there was not enough buss staff; multiple times the manager had to stop customers from being seated because their table was not bussed.
Overall, the experience was not as I had hoped. The restaurant seemed to operate as though it was it’s first night handling a heavy flow of customers. I cannot speak for weather or not it is similar on a non-holiday evening, but I’m not sure if we will return to find out.
It really was not a server issue, they messed up our appetizer, took two hours to get our steak then without our side dishes.. they ran out of mash potatoes?? And could not make more by the time we were almost done our steak.
Went for mother’s day lunch and my entree didn’t come out with the rest and my family’s meal (ordered a rare steak). Everyone was half way done their meal before it arrived (there were only 4 of us 2 adults and 2 children). When it did arrive the steak had so much salt it tasted like I was eating pure salt. I cook and never complain ever when dining out but I couldn’t eat it as it was. I ended up sending it back only to get another with ZERO seasoning at all. I almost knew that would happen. I ended up adding my own salt and pepper. They also forgot my sons potatoes with his chicken dish (was part of the entree not a side) Manager came over at the end of our meal and was aware of the issue already. Figured maybe they would comp the steak or something. Didn’t happen. Not impressed with the meal at all as it was a set menu with limited choices so the kitchen shouldn’t have sent meals at different times and also forget one of the main ingredient in the dish (chicken and potatoes). Our server was great however so no issue there.
The service and food were outstanding! It’s always a pleasure to go there. The staff make you feel at home and special.
Not sure if we caught them on an off night, but the last 2x's have not been the historical experiences we had been accustomed to. They forgot to bring appetizers. This night the steaks (Strip and Filets) taste were just ok. Potatoes - different preps - were both bland. Butter for lobster was cold both the first time and when asked for more. It took us 2.5 hours to complete our meal and while we do not mind a long dinner, it felt as if the whole meal was stretched out. Wait staff was pleasant but seemed overwhelmed. Not sure we'll head back.
