The food was over cooked and just lacking
The restaurant is under new management and you can tell. I took an out of town guest to this restaurant and I raved about it. I was totally embarrassed. The food was not good nor close to being good. The waitress was very kind, hospitable and apologized profusely. However, it wasn't her fault. Given the price to eat at Sullivan's it's not worth going to unless they get better management or chefs.
Food was great as usual. We were there to celebrate my wifes birthday. Would definitely go again!
Disappointed they ran out of mashed potatoes but did make up for it by giving extra sides. Also apparent they also ran out of bread so we received small round break which was hard
I have made several hundred reservations on opentable and never complained. I went on Mother’s Day with my mom and sister (who has managed restaurants and rarely has off on a holiday to enjoy a meal). We waited a bit to be seated and longer than normal for things but it was a holiday so that’s ok. What isn’t ok is for the restaurant to be out of 3 items we ordered. The manager came over AFTER we asked to speak to him. I can forgive a lot but a halfhearted apology-,blaming the busy weekend and the chef for improper ordering ,did not cut it. Hello it was a holiday look at last year and the reservations and plan accordingly that is the job of the GM. Then to not even check back or comp a dessert- seriously? There are too many great service and food restaurants in KOP for that
The food we did get was very good and our server Was awesome.
I brought my mother out to Sullivan’s for Mother’s Day Dinner. The menu was very enticing, and our waitress was very pleasant, however the ambience was lacking. The noise level coming from the kitchen was overbearing. It sounded like plates were being thrown around and multiple times we heard ones break. The food was very well seasoned, and the sides were delicious, but the temperature of our steaks were well over. Both my mother’s fillet and boyfriend’s ribeye were overcooked and dry. The waitstaff seemed very uncomfortable and lacked focus due to having too many tables. It also seemed as though there was not enough buss staff; multiple times the manager had to stop customers from being seated because their table was not bussed.
Overall, the experience was not as I had hoped. The restaurant seemed to operate as though it was it’s first night handling a heavy flow of customers. I cannot speak for weather or not it is similar on a non-holiday evening, but I’m not sure if we will return to find out.
It really was not a server issue, they messed up our appetizer, took two hours to get our steak then without our side dishes.. they ran out of mash potatoes?? And could not make more by the time we were almost done our steak.
Went for mother’s day lunch and my entree didn’t come out with the rest and my family’s meal (ordered a rare steak). Everyone was half way done their meal before it arrived (there were only 4 of us 2 adults and 2 children). When it did arrive the steak had so much salt it tasted like I was eating pure salt. I cook and never complain ever when dining out but I couldn’t eat it as it was. I ended up sending it back only to get another with ZERO seasoning at all. I almost knew that would happen. I ended up adding my own salt and pepper. They also forgot my sons potatoes with his chicken dish (was part of the entree not a side) Manager came over at the end of our meal and was aware of the issue already. Figured maybe they would comp the steak or something. Didn’t happen. Not impressed with the meal at all as it was a set menu with limited choices so the kitchen shouldn’t have sent meals at different times and also forget one of the main ingredient in the dish (chicken and potatoes). Our server was great however so no issue there.
The service and food were outstanding! It’s always a pleasure to go there. The staff make you feel at home and special.
Not sure if we caught them on an off night, but the last 2x's have not been the historical experiences we had been accustomed to. They forgot to bring appetizers. This night the steaks (Strip and Filets) taste were just ok. Potatoes - different preps - were both bland. Butter for lobster was cold both the first time and when asked for more. It took us 2.5 hours to complete our meal and while we do not mind a long dinner, it felt as if the whole meal was stretched out. Wait staff was pleasant but seemed overwhelmed. Not sure we'll head back.
My family used to love coming to Sullivan's, until our experience Friday night. My brother, sister in law and myself were all denied drinks because we did not have our IDs on us - even though we are all over 30 years old and dining with our parents. This set the tone for the rest of the night. We had to ask twice if we could have a server come to our table and when Jessica finally came over, she never even apologized for taking so long. We had to ask for water and bread. She would disappear for such long periods of time. Our reservation was at 7:45pm and we did not get our meal until 9:45. We had to keep asking for more bread since the food was taking forever. When our steaks came out finally, none of them were the way we had ordered but we ate them anyways because we wanted to get out of there rather than sit and wait. We all ordered medium rare or medium steaks and we all received well done with absolutely NO pink at all. Jessica provided a horrible customer experience and messed up our orders. She was not busy with other tables either. We will not be returning.
When we first arrived we thought we picked the wrong night to celebrate our 20th anniversary as it will be Mother’s Day tomorrow ....place was packed ! So happy for Sullivans , our favorite place to dine . We have been coming here for 20 years . We were seated at a booth , got our order in right away . We were taken care of by Jessica , our assigned server was being overwhelmed by a party of 9 . Jessica saw we were waiting and stepped in to help us . Great ahi tuna appetizer , large filet Oscar style , lobster bisque and a filet for my date
Brought home the cheesecake which I just inhaled . Great Tito’s cosmos . Great food. Great service as always . A perfect dining experience ! Great valet service from Ron ! Thanks everyone at Sullivans
The food was great although my husbands filet mignon was a little under cooked. The service at the table was great! I had a 6 pm reservation and STILL had to wait to be seated. That was the first time that happened. No toilet paper in the stall in the women’s bathroom.
We have been to Sullivan’s in KOP a number of times. While the food was still very good, it wasn’t up to its usual high standards. My steak was cooked perfectly to temperature but was quite salty. The baked potatoes were much smaller than I remember, though still very good. Our waitress said they were short staffed and she was attentive but not as available as usual. All of us enjoyed the evening but we’ve had better experiences in the past.
Freezing cold in the restaurant, took forever for cocktails and while my steak was cooked properly, the outside was burnt. Used to be my favorite restaurant but has progressively gotten worse with each visit
First time there every thing was great looking forward to coming back and bring so family and friends with me
Bad service had to beg to get a glass of water service was slow food was ok
Food was mediocre in quality. Shrimp tasted freezer burned, Tuna has zero flavor and was hard to cut. Steak was cooked only on one side, chicken was too salty... and the list goes on
As always, the food and service were outstanding!
This is not a restaurant I would normally go to - it's dark and I think appeals to an older crowd. I don't eat beef and ordered the salmon which was OK. I ordered a Caesar salad that they serve as a whole head of romaine with sprinkle Parmesan (did not look freshly shaved quality parm - I get better parm at Wegmans!) The waiter was very nice, didn't understand how to set a table or didn't seem to care with us.
I did not like the approach of the manager I watched her greet the people in front of me and when it was my turn up she stated EXCUSE ME MAY I HELP YOU. I said excuse and she stated it again like I was in the wrong place ,lost or something. I was told to have a seat I sat down and was very offended by what she said because she didn’t address the lady before me nor the lady after me in the same manner. She greeted them how are you doing today and assisted them to there seat. Once I sat down I explain to the young lady what had happen and I wanted to speak to a manager. I was informed that she was the manager. I asked for the person over her I was given his business card. At this point bother lady came over and said she was the assistant manager and apologized for what had happen. All night the manager started in my direction as she conversed with other people and not once did she apologize. In a attempt to smooth things over they paid for our desert that we didn’t even want. So on her behalf she as ok with dealing with me in that manner. She was notified that I was not happy and still didn’t apologize I will not be eating there again and I will tell all my friends and family to do the same and why. I am a successful business owner and it’s ashamed that anyone is treated this way no matter gender or color.
We visited Sullivan’s for our Anniversary dinner. Our server Brian was excellent, service was great... and the food! Everything was delicious! We were also treated to free dessert unbeknownst to us, but we’ll take it! Thank you Sullivan’s!
We came to this restaurant for my fiance's birthday. They had a birthday card already on the table for him when we were seated. I thought that was a nice touch. Excellent food and service. We did not have to wait long for anything. Definitely coming back.
Just everything was subpar, especially the service. I hate leaving negative reviews but from the sides to the service, it just wasn’t worth the money.
Little dark, hard to read the menu but a phenomenal restaurant
Waiter had a ton of charisma, excellent service. I would certainly dine again
A very nice place to have a great meal. They definitely are on Par of Mortons and Ruth Criss Try them out. The speciality drinks are superb!
I loved the rib eye
Very delicious and tender.
Food and service was great.
Everything was good except we had to wait 1/2 hour from reservation time to be seated
It was my birthday. 😢
Couldn’t find the wine, no mention of my birthday. Disappointed.
Decided to dine here for our anniversary same as last year. Last year we had a wonderful server and the food was delicious. This year our server Elizabeth was inattentive and forgetful. The food (ribeye, ny strip, horseradish mashed potatoes, salad) were just ok. We advised the manager of the issues with the service and he came over to meet us and advised he would take care of the entire bill for our anniversary and the inconvenience. We are appreciative however we will give another fine dining establishment a try next year for our special day.
Our waitess was awesome. She made my 90 year old inlaws so very comfortable.
Our reservation was for Friday, April 26. We arrived 20 minutes early, got to the bar for drinks, waited 10 minutes for 1 of the 2 bartenders to take our order. The appetizers-(Egg Rolls) were over cooked, the calamari was swimming in the sauce. My 12oz Filet was severly undercooked, the waiter took it back and they recooked it, but now it was over salted and dried out. The baked potato was very good as were the garlic mashed potatoes. The Brussel Sprouts was a plate of leaves, as none of the sprouts were intact. My wife and daughter had the King Crab Legs, and they said they were dried out. The cauliflower was good. Coffee and cheesecake was good.
Steak came out room temperature at best. Asparagus cold. Tuna steak ice cold. Service was slow. 20 mins to get our first drink. Baked potato only thing that came out hot. Definitely will not be back. And would certainly not recomend.
Wonderful birthday celebration for my wife. Food was great and the free desert was a nice touch. Only minor complaint we were not served any bread.
Elizabeth was Awesome! Great Waitress.
Have been to Sullivan's KoP before and wasn't so impressed but have been going to the Wilmington location for years because I felt food and service was so much better. However over the past year or two Wilmington has declined so I gave the KoP location another chance and it was very good. It was a slow night at the restaurant but the food and service was very good.
