Sullivans is one of our favorite restaurants. They never disappoint.
We eat at Sullivan’s every month. EVERYONE onsite is happy. Guests of business folks, young families or romantic dinners (like ours). We have NEVER been other than thrilled with our experience. Cody, our server, was an outstanding and Professional young man.
If my wife is happy, I am happy. A wonderful evening for two old folks who still enjoy a night out at a landmark.
This was our 3rd time here. 1st time Christmas dinner for work. Absolutely awesome everything about it. 2nd time for my son's bday. Absolutely awesome again. That was 2 years ago. Now this past Sunday for 3 bdays not impressed at all. Best part of meal was appetizers then the cheese cake. Service was wonderful the food not even close to what it used to be. Knew going in our bill would be high and I have no problem paying that if it were like it had been in the past. Needless to say will not be back again. So disappointed.
We have given this restaurant the last try. We had to return the stone crab, expensive we knew, but one was dried out and hard. The other three were gross and inedible. The steaks came and were ok, not great but had to return our baked potatoe as it was so over done. Took about ten minutes to get a replacement and was told the new one they tried to serve us was just as bad as the first one. This place better get ahold on their problems fast. There are too many other better places to eat in INDY and surrounding areas. We have just never learned here and just tried for the last time.
We were very impressed with Sullivan's. We had to wait about 20 minutes past our scheduled reservation time and they compensated us with a free appetizer. We didn't ask for anything they just did it! We enjoyed our steaks. The highlight of the night was dessert. The Banana Foster is incredible! We will be back!
Just simply the best Steak House in Indy, in my opinion
Always top notch
Everything was perfect! From the service to a excellent meal! Our waiter was Evan & he was excellent, attentive & a pleasure to have for our service! We have never been disappointed with service or a meal when dining at Sullivan's! Very good!
I have been to this location several times first time ordering the lobster. Came out looked great but very dry I have had better lobsters at Long Horn. No plans to go back.
Everything was outstanding except for the wait to be seated.
We had reservations, arrived a few minutes early and had to wait for almost 30 minutes to be seated. On to the best part.......
3 of the 5 in our group had the fillet. All 3 were VERY impressed on the flavor, tenderness and perfect cooking of the orders.
Veggies and salads were crisp, fresh and spot on.
I had the Lobster Bisque and must say that it is one of the best prepared bisque's that i have had anywhere in my travels.
Our Table was ready at out reserved time, our Servers were professional, prompt and kind! Steaks were cooked as ordered . The Banana foster was to die for. Cheese cake was also yummy . My Son and his girl loved the oysters , our Daughter ordered the Moscato there brand was very tasty . My Son In Law and Husband Enjoyed their Bday Dinner! Everything was delicious!
The food was fantastic, the service was exceptional and we will definitely be back
This restaurant has undergone a badly-needed facelift and now has a much more inviting atmosphere. The food is (steakhouse) reliably good. Our server was outstanding -- welcoming, professional, cheerful and efficient. A good spot for a long conversation.
Very long wait for food-steaks were very tough-had to send everything back-waited a long time for food again n-very disappointing ng-steaks over cooked-server was fine-not he fault
We were celebrating my wife's birthday. We got a nice booth that was in a quiet area. The waitress was very nice. We both ordered the lunch special. I had steak and my wife ordered the salmon. We both ordered a Caesar Salad to begin the meal. The salads were great. We are both retired and were not in a hurry to get back to work and probably should have told the waitress this but did not. The main entrees arrived while we were still eating our salads. We felt they could have waited awhile longer. My wife sent her salmon back to be cooked a little more. I ordered my steak medium well and it was medium but was okay. We both thought that the mashed potatoes that came with the meal were instant mashed potatoes as they were very smooth. They brought us a slice of cheesecake with strawberries as a special dessert for my wife's birthday. There was no charge for this which was very nice and thoughtful. We both thought that the restaurant could stand to be refreshed with new paint, new carpet and new booths and chairs as they looked a little warn. When we finished and left we were the only customers in the restaurant. Overall it was a good experience and we would go again.
We were fortunate to treat a young couple to celebrate their upcoming wedding. It was their first visit to Sullivan’s, and they were very impressed and appreciative.
My husband and I were taking a friend out for dinner for his birthday. We chose Sullivan's because we know what to expect.....quiet so we can talk, located near our home, good food and variety on the menu, attentive staff. AND...that is exactly what we experienced!
Came to Sullivan's for my birthday/anniversary the food was good but the service was not. Our waiter was not very friendly or attentive , he never once asked if we needed anything like refills on drinks, he disappeared quite often and when we thanked him he never said no problem or your welcome just really dry. If I do come back to Sullivan's I would make sure I'm seated with someone more friendly.
Also I had my daughters 21st birthday dinner at Sullivan's last year in Sept, and this same young man was also one of the waiters and we had problems with him at that time as well.
Very nice evening
Price of the food for quality could be far better. Other steak houses for the same value have far better quality.
We really enjoyed our anniversary dinner. We are sorry for the confusion that we had two reservations for Saturday and Sunday. I apologize for any inconvenience. The staff didn’t know it was our anniversary, but we did observe their attentiveness to a couple that was celebrating next to us... and a birthday celebration as well. Our service team was awesome! Kathy ( I think that was her name) kept my Arnold Palmer’s coming all dinner! We’ll be back soo for another delicious diner. Thank you!
Beautiful ambiance, celebrating retirement! Recommend the 1lb lobster tail!
The food and service were good, but this restaurant is ridiculously overpriced. Dinner for 2 without appetizers, alcohol or dessert was $157!
Food and Service were EXCELLENT!
Everything was top notch!
I enjoyed the food and the thoughtful hostess. It was my birthday celebration and without asking, she put in request for a free dessert. Much appreciated. The waiter, however, was delayed at times. He was friendly, but there were moments we needed him and he was unavailable. Im sure he just had more tables. Overall, great time.
Service was excellent, however both my steak and my wife's steak were tough. Degree of cookong (medium) was perfect, but had difficulty cutting into steaks. That was disappointing; we generally have enjoyed Sullivan's.
I don't know, this used to be our go to for special nights but last 2 times it just is missing something it once had and I can't figure out what it is. The ribeye wasn't as flavorful as I remember, The prices seem high, service is ok. I'm sorry I can't put my finger on it. Maybe it's because there was a time my wife and I would make reservations get there and decide to eat at bar with music going. I'm sure we will try it again, but we used to be 4-6 times a year.
Sullivan's used to be a favorite for us. Not so now. Redecorated in early 1960's fashion. A style in decline. The redecoration was a step backwards.
Table server was fine. 1st bar server was fine too, but she left and the replacement simply ignored us. It was clear they all wanted to clear the restaurant so they could go home.
My guest ordered an 8oz Filet. It was of low quality. I was embarrassed. And it was not at all inexpensive.
Over time they've taken some of my favorites off the menu. Most notably, the hash browns. Now we go elsewhere to dine to get the things no longer available at Sullivan's.
Things change. Sometimes for the worse.
This was our first time to visit. The manager (John) and waitress (Tracy) went above and beyond to ensure our experience was pleasant. Our food and service was impeccable. One of the best dining experiences ever. They went above and beyond to make our anniversary a memorable experience!
Had a chance to get out with my wife without the kids. Enjoyed our evening. For some reason our service was a bit slower than those around us, but the night was great.
Great wine list to choose from. We received the wrong vintage year on our first bottle and the manager provided us with an upgrade on our next bottle at no charge. The staff really try to make the experience very positive.
Great food & service !
Walked in and I feel blown away like this is prefect for a romantic date, while waiting on my table I decided to have a drink . Next thing I know I was greeted with sir, your table is ready. I was in such hurry I almost forgot to pay for the drinks. Pull out my payment of choice which happen to be card, and what do you know the bar tender pockets it.. The steaks are on-point just don’t get the wrong cook, cooking your well done steak, but to make a long story short the manger handled everything with such manner I would suggest this steakhouse to anyone
We picked an unusually busy night where the food delivery was slightly slow. Our server Emily was spot on. Our manager Hal was very attentive and comped us on a round of drinks. My Salmon was delicious but too well done for my taste. However, I neglected to order it cooked to medium rare so that was my fault. As I requested a booth, we were seated in one but next to the kitchen. Every dish, server and bus staff, passed our way and thus, the evening was raucous. We love Sullivan's and again, Emily was excellent and she will always be requested. I will be more selective as to our booth location in the future as there were moments that I thought we might be showered with food. thank you Sullivan's for being our special occasion place. I've been going here for years and this is the first time the meal was a little off. Steak not cook correctly. They tried to fix it but I should of just requested a new one. Will most definitely go back again everyone has a bad day. But this better not happen again. To many good steakhouses in this town not be on every night.
We had wanted to go here for Valentine's Day but couldn't get a time we needed. The delayed celebration this past Saturday was well worth the wait! I have been to pretty much all of the top restaurants in Indy and this, especially as a steakhouse, ranks at the very top. The fillet was so tender and cooked to exact wishes, and the Oscar topping was just the right touch. The French onion soup and lobster bisque were mouth-watering and exquisite. The bread also tasty. The wine list was extensive with an array of choices. The creme brulée was just the right pièce de resistance. George was a TERRIFIC waiter, attentive, fun and gracious, but never hovering. Portions were generous. While the places was insanely busy, we never felt hurried through our meal. I can't wait to return.
Wife and I went for first time on 2/17 and were blown away. 22 oz bone-in ribeye? Yes please. It was fantastic. Mrs got the salmon and it was also top notch. Server Cathy (Kathy) was very attentive. Never had to ask for water or iced tea refill. We will be going back.
Sullivan's is great for what it is, an overpriced, modern shopping mall parking lot steakhouse. Service is exceptional and food is spot on. The room is overcrowded and the acoustics make you feel like you should have brought earplugs to avoid hearing loss. All in all exactly what you should expect. My opinion there are better restaurants with better food for a lot less money, but if this kind of place is what you're looking for, by all means enjoy!
The food for the most part was delicious, however the macaroni and cheese with lobster was very dry and not very good. I think it had been over-cooked in the microwave.
To whom it may concern,
My family and I have been going to Sullivan's for the last few years. Our first visit was for our sons birthday party. It was a great experience. and after that they were all good up to the last two. I would say we have been there 8-10 times as a conservative estimate.
This last experience was not one that I could leave and tell tell anyone that I recommend it.
I ordered my appetizer of Philadelphia cheese steak rolls with out honey mustard. It came out wrong, and on the third order it was corrected.
The waiter brought out our steaks and switched them on delivery, when we cut into them they were wrong temperate and he switched them back. I don't think mine was right after that. The scalloped potatoes had very little taste. The brussel sprouts and Knock out drink was great.
We were in the last booth right at the kitchen entrance and it was hard to feel relaxed when everyone was coming in and out.
The guest behind us was talking to the mangers for a period of time that just made me and my wife want to turn around and say "were trying to have a quite dinner here and celebrate our anniversary" we didn't but it was very odd. The manager would talk to them and then go talk to another booth and them come back and tell them what that couple said. It was bizarre.
I feel like I had to write this because I really liked this place 3 or 4 visits ago. I felt like it was "the place" for us to drive from Brazil, Indiana . I raved to others about it and put it up there with all the other steak restaurants. Not anymore. Now I will try somewhere else just because of this incident and the one before.
The restaurant's atmosphere is great! We started off with the cheese steak egg rolls and crab cakes. These are some of the best appetizers I have ever eaten. For the main meal, we both had steak and shared the horseradish mashed potatoes (good), mac n cheese (chewy, overcooked, great flavor), and steak cooked medium rare (disappointing, chewy and crunchy, okay flavor). The prices did not match the quality of the this meal. I will most likely come back, but only for the appetizers. Drinks are $12 and up, so I would not recommend appetizers and a drink. I would recommend stopping in and having a few appetizers.
