We had a great time here. We went to Sullivan's for our last dinner out before we headed back to Saskatchewan, CA. Our server James was awesome and he sent their wine expert over to help us choose off the list as we weren't familiar with any of the wines. During dessert, James took our picture and brought it back in a frame, signed by everyone working that night. Great keepsake! He also gave us a great recommendation to go to the duelling piano bar across the street (with free cover from Sullivan's)which was an awesome ending to an awesome trip! We will recommend this place to others visiting Chicago.
Very good food, if you're into specific cuts the chef has plenty of experience, enjoy!
Everything was over salted and over peppered. Steaks were sinewy. I left half of mine. Had to send one back as inedible it was so overdone and over peppered. No warning of heavy salt and pepper on the menu! Waiter needs training. Piled dirty dishes up in front of me instead of removing individually. Like a dirty diner server. We were amazed at how bad it was. And the restaurant wasn’t busy. Never again!
The service, provided by Evelyn, was outstanding. I have been to Sullivan's many times when I come to Chicago for the IHA show and unfortunately, the food was not good this time. The $85 steak was very fatty and not worth the price at all. The balsamic chicken was so bad, it was not eaten so Evelyn took it off the bill. Appetizers were fair and Key lime pie was good. Side dishes of brussel sprouts and mashed potatoes did not meet our expectations. All said and done, our total bill for two people was $237 (excluding tip) and we walked away noting the experience (besides the service) was not worth it and unfortunately is cause for me probably not returning during my next visit to Chicago.
The staff was extremely friendly and warm. My spouse loves mushrooms they were very good. I had a steak, my friend and I and unfortunately it was so chard I couldn’t eat it. Mashed potatoes were good! Also I had a cheesecake and it was 9.5 for a slither piece.. Way over priced. Then when the check came and the overcharged me $239 dollars. The ambiance is nice and staff friendly. I just think it was overpriced. Especially for burnt steak..
Phenomenal food with outstanding service. Drinks were high quality, music was fantastic.
The location and atmosphere were relaxed, went for date night with my husband. Price was what we would expect for a downtown steakhouse. He had steak, I had salmon. Both were delicious. Our waiter was on his game. The big negative was the bartender. He was aloof, had to drag him over to take our order. When we finally got our drinks, the mix was off, I actually got a stomach ache from it...my tip? He can't screw up a glass of wine.
Place was empty.
We were visiting from out of town and chose this Steak house off a search. The atmosphere was wonderful. Staff was delightful from the moment we walked in the door. Our waiter Gareth was attentive. The every food choice was delicious. Highly recommended.
This is the second year we have celebrated our anniversary at Sullivan's.
The wait staff was fantastic. Answered all of our questions and made great wine recommendations. After dinner we had drinks in the bar. Great music. Overall a fantastic night.
Great meal and service! It was my birthday and our waiter Michael provided exceptional service including a great family photo and special desert.
We went for our seven year anniversary. Our Waitress was amazing, she gave us great recommendations on both food and wine. We were able to celebrate and not feel rushed by the staff. We got the lobster bisque-which was delicious, we shared their sea food platter; my only complaint was that we ordered it thinking the crab and shrimp would be hot and instead it was served on ice; but still good. And their cheesecake is very light and delicious. I will definitely be back and will recommend it as well.
Dinner was fabulous! Had the lobster bisque, filet mignon with grilled asparagus and steakhouse mushrooms. The signature martini, the”Knockout” was excellent, too. Very attentive and efficient waitstaff and manager even came over to check on us to see how our meal was. I definitely recommend going here, and plan to come back again.
Simply put, great culinary experience overall.
Service, food, wine and the ambiance, everything was awesome.
Excellent and attentive staff took care of all our needs but never interrupted while business discussions were taking place.
Definitely understood when to appear and when interuption would not be appreciated.
Went to Sullivan's for a per-theatre dinner and it was very good. The service and staff was excellent. The staff was very attentive and obliging. The food was also excellent. It was timed perfectly with each course given enough time to finish. My wife and I will definitely come back to Sullivan's.
While the food was tasty and the ambience was cordial, didn’t feel the popularity for a steak & seafood restaurant. Maybe a bit over priced or cause my first time on Sunday evening was a miss with popularity. May have been timing; because I enjoyed the food will consider dining again.
Excellent steak and food as usual really enjoy it yearly
Sullivan's always does an exemplary job when it comes to serving dinner. From the oysters with the hand made migionette with the red wine vinegar and shallot to the perfectly rendered rack of Lamb to the incredible salmon and steak, everything was perfection. The management and wait staff were so on there toes. It was another incredible meal. Aaron and his staff are just the very best. I will mention COLE, the Manager as well as Waiters Garrett and James and the bar men Chris and Greg. Everyone on the team worked to make sure we were happy with the food and the service.
Very unimpressed on all levels! Steak was Bland and charred and server with sweating profusely
Very good service. Food was very good. Overall very pleased.
Great service and great food! It was a great place to celebrate my birthday! Loved the extra birthday desert and the birthday photo with my family!
Everything was perfect. I had a visit to Sullivan's Naperville and the experience was just as outstanding.
My steak was too salty, actually everything was too salty.I ordered the knockout and for someone who doesn't really drink it didn't taste like it had any alcohol in it
Anthony and Mike D were very knowledgeable, personable and professional. We accepted all of their recommendations on wine, sides and steak toppings and it was wonderful!
Food, service, drinks are exceptional! Great place to eat!
My steak was cooked to perfection! Literally melted in my mouth.
Great meal and a great deal for restaurant week! Our server Michael was great and it was wonderful for the manager to come over and say hi. I was very suprised about the amount of kids there.
We went for restaurant week - the ambiance was perfect and our server was very attentive. The food was good. Definitely try The Knockout!
My steak was over cooked and they took it back immediately, brought me a complimentary appetizer and took money off my meal. Outstanding customer service.
It was above and beyond in every regard - our server Michael was outstanding!
The staff was very attentive and the food was awesome
We tried Sullivan's during Restaurant Week since the price was lower than normal. What a great dinner, we had the filet and the NY strip steaks, both cooked perfectly. Would highly recommend Sullivan's for Restaurant Week, hard to afford any other time.
Terrific food, Garrett was great. Was my first time there and would definitely return!
Amazing steak and ambiance. Service top notch - prices better than most of competition. Happy Hour is great here as well!
This was a 65th Birthday celebration and there were three of us and we all ordered ribeye steak and it was so salty we immediately sent it back - the manager came out, apologized and had three more steaks sent to us and these were underdone - we requested two well done and one medium well!!!! I was so very disappointed that we were unable to enjoy the birthday celebration because of the food and, based on the experience with the food, we were still charged full price!!! I think we should have at least had something taken off the bill. Perhaps the staff and the chefs should go to Chicago Cut Steak House to taste their food so they will be able to replicate a decent meal - needless to say, Sullivan's has been taken off my list of steakhouses - again, spoiled what should have been a great birthday dnner!!!!
Mike, the sommelier, was also an outstanding server - what a great meal!
What a great experience at Sullivan's Chicago! After a very disappointing experience at our local (King of Prussia) Sullivan's we've boycotted the restaurant about a year ago. So glad we went while in Chicago because the food and drinks are so enjoyable. The staff at the bar was extremely attentive.
Food was great as was the staff. Great menu for Restaurant Week as well!
The Bathroom needed attention. Especially important at restaurants in my opinion
