Sullivan’s has a great atmosphere and the service is outstanding. However, the steaks leave a bit to be desired especially at the $40-$60 price point.
A very classic but comfortable atmosphere for a date, special occasion or group setting. While the main dining area is very lively its still quaint enough for conversation within your table. The service is outstanding and the quality of the steaks, salads and sides is second to none. Always a really enjoyable experience.
Great dinner and love the Banana Bread Pudding.
They were sensitive to my food allergies and the food was delicious. The staff was friendly and the setting was elegant.
Bob our waiter was excellent.
excellent as always!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I should have trusted my gut when I saw their health rating was 93.5 and went back to the car. Really a high end restaurant with a health rating of 93.5. Well we went in anyway. We did not have any alcohol and our bill was $135.00 with tip. Food was just so so. No better than steak houses that charge less. My wife asked for the bernaise sauce on the side but it was on the steak when it came out. I had the King Crab and the shell was not split well at all and was brought to the table without a claw cracker or a small fork. The men's and women's bath room were a mess. We will never be back again. Sad very sad.
My husband and I were in Charlotte on vacation.
Sullivan’s was an excellent choice for dinner. It met all our expectations for food & service. Victoria, our server, was helpful and perfectly attentive to our needs.
We will dine here again when we are back in Charlotte.
Never received our salad, my strip was at room temperature. Took two bits and I will eat it for lunch microwave and ketup. The service was very poor. My wife and son enjoyed there meal filet and rack of lamp. Manager provided free desert that was very good. To me it wasn’t worth the effort or cost.
Alexa was a very good server. Awesome good & our friends came with is and enjoyed their first experience
I went on a low-key business dinner with four of my colleagues recently. They all seemed to enjoy their food that ranged from lamb-chops to various cuts of steak.
My wedge salad was great. Its not uncommon for a restaurant to get a steak a little overdone as it can happen very quickly and that is what happen to my NY strip. What was great however was how quickly and courteously they reacted and got me a perfectly cooked medium rare steak that was delicious. The manager personally came out to apologize (it really was not that big a deal in my view) and that was impressive. Wine selection was extensive and we found some very nice wine that was very reasonably priced. All in all an enjoyable evening.
Our dining experience was awesome from the incredible margarita and martini to the shrimp lobster bisque and wedge salad to the amazing lamb chops and superlative ribeye to the most incredible Bananas Foster bread pudding with caramel and vanilla bean! Service was impeccable!
Easter Dinner was a very enjoyable experience. The food was very good, cooked perfectly and served well. The whole family enjoyed our holiday dinner without feeling rushed. Several of our family members had never eaten at Sullivan’s before and found the experience truly exceptional.
This visit was not the best from my previous experience. My 8oz filet had a good amount of fat which was unexpected. My wife and my steaks were ordered medium and medium well but both came out medium well. Not a huge deal, but not what I would expect from Sullivan’s.
Love Sullivans--always my go to place for great steaks. Unfortunately my steak wasn't cooked properly. I asked for it to be medium and it came well done. I could have sent it back--but I didn't want to make a fuss about it. Hoping the error was a one time thing.
Not only was the service terrible, got locked out of the restaurant mid meal, as did our server, but they also overcharged us significantly. When you spend $400 on dinner the expectation is that it is exceptional. Dinner at outback would have been worlds better than this dinner.
Went for Easter dinner. My daughter was on crutches and the staff didn't even help with doors. They put us in a high traffic spot even though there were plenty of other tables.
The food was OK, not great.
We frequent Sullivan’s on holidays. This Easter was no different from last. However the food and service wasn’t up to standard. We waited a pretty long time for our main entree. We had to send 2 of the meals back for being over cooked and extremely under cooked. A third meal should have gone back but the person in our party decided it wasn’t worth the wait. We ordered an over number of sides and wasn’t told they were famil size sides. I should have known this due to eating here often but it slipped my mind. So needles to say we had 4 pots of mashed potatoes, lobster Mac n cheese and spinach coming out of our ears. I wish our server would have been more on top of that taking place and mentioned it. This is our 4th year of holidays here and not sure after this experience is we’ll be back. :(
Steak quality was very poor! Sides and apps were good as usually, sent steak back once and second try was worse than the first
Staff was very knowledgeable. Overall a great dining experience
Absolutely the BEST steak I have ever eaten. Cooked perfectly, mouthwatering. Loved the entire meal.
It was a great night!
Was in town visiting my daughter and had a fabulous meal!! Our waiter Michael i think was WONDERFUL and funny!!
We came to Sullivan's because we had been years ago and it was wonderful. This time not so much. My husbands filet was way over cooked and my $60 lobster tail was not great. However the manager took my husbands steak off of the bill. We were very disappointed. Not sure we will return. If I'm going to drop $200 on a meal I want it to be the best thing I have ever eaten.
This was our first time dining at Sullivan’s. I can’t say enough about the ambiance, the staff and the food. It made our anniversary one to remember. Whenever we are back in the Charlotte area, Sullivan’s is definitely one restaurant we will visit again and again.
First, when we pulled up the valet guys were on point. Then he told me he loved our green. When we walked in, they greeted us by name, being we were reserve for 5pm, opening. They seated us until they were ready for us. Quickly, they came, got us and seated us. The table setting was amazingly beautiful for our anniversary. Everyone from the managers were very nice, smiles galore, everything was lovely. food, the wine, the drinks were absolutely great. Bob, the waiter, was amazing, he made sure we were comfortable and we'll taken care of. Along with the whole staff. We will visit Sullivan's again.. They took our pik at the end of dinner and handed it back with the whole gang signatures.. Love Sullivan's Steakhouse.. Not one complaint.
Premier steakhouse did not deliver a premier steak. Ordered the Wagyu medium rare and was served medium to well. The meat was extremely dry. The seasoning was good. They did offer to replace but I declined. Instead we opted for dessert.
We brought my Mom & Dad for their 80th birthdays. The food was delicious, the
ambience was perfect and our waiter Chris was absolutely fantastic, he made our
dining experience Amazing!!!!!
The Hull Family
Great service, prompt and knowledgeable. Food was decadent and delicious. Delightful experience, though it is noisy. Because of design it was hard to have a private/easy conversation. Music was much louder than I recall previously.
My husband and I love Sullivan’s and try to go each time we stay over in Charlotte for early flight the next morning. Alway a favorite and they never disappoint. Valet parking is very convenient and welcomed.
My ladies Birthday. Food was excellent once we got plates to eat it from. Honestly though nothing that can’t be made on a backyard grill. Spoke to the very nice manager more than my server. Had to ask three times to get more than a bread plate to share appetizer on. Portions are large but hey it’s Sullivan’s and the price is always a little silly. All in all we stuffed ourselves stupid had a good time and we’re satisfied. The Bananas foster Bread pudding did not make it into the to go box. Lol
The meal was simply outstanding! Not only was the filet done to perfection, but all the accoutrements were also wonderful. The special dessert was out of the world. Bob, our server, was attentive, helpful and knowledgeable. It couldn’t have been better.
I had a fantastic birthday dinner experience. Much appreciation to the great staff.
I asked for a booth during the reservation. Be sure to specify "Not near the kitchen or bathroom".
They got my order wrong but it was so good I decided to keep it instead of waiting for them to redo it while my date let her meal get cold or awkwardly ate while I watched.
They don't wait for everyone at the table to finish before picking up plates, which makes those still eating feel rushed. Good places know not to do this. They started cleaning up the restaurant around everyone while we were eating dessert. Busboy bumped our table with the trashcan as he rushed past.
Overall good food but not a very professional staff at all.
Our server Chris was AMAZING! Offered drink options that we tried and he definitely did not steer us wrong. He was one of the servers I’ve ever had.
Food and service were great but we were literally having to yell across the table at times to talk. This is our 3rd time going here. The first was wonderful, the second was good but very loud. Decided to give it another try. It was far worse than the second time. Not the atmosphere you should expect when paying $200+ per person. Won’t be back.
Very noisy. Difficult to hear our waiter or to converse with my dining companion.
Great food new waiter that tried hard and will be great. My complaint here has always been fish camp seating Entirely to jammed in and sit on top of each other and their mark up on wine is higher than any other high end restaurant in Charlotte. These two complaints makes this a real disappointment over what it could and should be
The filet was perfect, the baked cauliflower outstanding, and the Smith & Hook wine paired well with the meal.
We arrived at 6 pm ordered a glass of wine and a beer as we waited for our table . Our table was called i asked the bar maid could i take my bill to the table she said no, so i paid there. 15 minutes later 3 couples who were at the bar with us were seated and brought their bar tab by the waitress that told us no. I looked for eye contact and she ignored us. Then we ordered our food and they brought us the wrong orders, the maitre d then came over and stated that the meal was free and he would comp the meal and bring us our proper orders (he was 6 feet tall , beard , glasses , in a dark suit). He never brought the right orders and the waitress tried to over charge us (169.00) our bill was suppose to be 75.00 less due to a promotional package , we told the waitress and she just smiled.
