Service was nonexistent. Steak came out raw. Bringing courses before we were done with first. Seen a server drop food, then put back on plates and serve it. Dessert never came, had ordered ice cream and server asked if we wanted it to go.
JV experience. Started poorly at the initial contact exposing lack of experience with a higher level of service. That held true throughout the experience.
I was a little nervous about our reservation after reading reviews but our experience was delightful. Our server was excellent and the food was delicious. We will return!
Went for a New Years' Eve dinner - fortunately or unfortunately only had the NYE special menu to choose from - but it was decent selections. Started with a Moscow Mule with a shrimp cocktail - both okay. Ordered a nice big steak (cooked to order) with an okay lobster tail for the main meal with a just okay (for the price) glass of wine - downside was the side of mashed got cold way to fast. Would have ordered an after dinner cocktail but for the price I declined (as I have almost all those bottles at home). But would recommend a visit with the regular menu to choose from for just about any occasion.
Waitress was not good. Wanted a chocolate dessert, but it was a fixed menu and we were unable to substitute. Everything was either dusty or dirty. There were stains on the lamp shade at our table and not worth the money for a restaurant that charges that much for food.
Overall it was a very good experience with outstanding food. The only real issue was that the wait staff seemed somewhat less professional than other restaurants at this price point. Our waitress was nice and took care of the table well, but some of the staff would congregate and converse loudly enough (about non-work topics) to be heard from across the main dining room. We would eat here again, it was just that the staff’s behavior did not fit with the upscale theme of the restaurant.
We waited over hour before our ticket was put in. Apparently there was issue with ticket. We had no issues and she was very apologetic. Manager gave us employee discount on final bill - could’ve been more considering we didn’t get entrees for 90 minutes and took another 20 minutes for sides - long enough for us to finish our steaks before rest came. Food wasn’t bad. Music was a tad loud.
We came here expecting culinary excellence. What a complete disappointment. We had reservations and still waited 10 minutes to be seated. It was complete disorganization. After being seated, we waited 15 minutes for a waiter to appear. Service was very slow throughout the meal. The waiter was very uninformed about anything, though he tried. The lobster bisque tasted like brown gravy. The meal was not worth the $223 price. Valet took forever, so the price of parking was $28. Do not visit here expecting more than gross mediocrity.
Wonderful food. Everything was outstanding. We went on Christmas Day and we delighted that it was quite.
We were looking for a nice place to have Christmas dinner, and this was it!
The food is as outstanding as we had been told. Excellent!
Management needs work.
Short on bar staff
Waitress Pam amazing!
It took a long time for us to get our food, despite there being only 4 tables filled. The waiter then disappeared. It was supposed to be a nice holiday lunch so we had planned to order coffee and dessert, but we had no opportunity. When I looked around for our waiter he brought the bill. It was a disappointing experience, especially given the price.
Our server did the best that he could and was very personable. But the kitchen and staffing levels led to a veeeeeery slooooooooow experience. What could have been a one hour visit for a family with two small kids ended up being almost two hours. Most restaurants seek to turn tables faster. Not this place.
My wife and I were very disappointed in our experience at Sullivan’s on Friday December 13. My manager who lives in Dallas area had raved about Sullivan’s after eating there.
To start with when we walked in, the greeting by the hostess seemed tepid. After being seated, there seemed to be a wait before a waiter came over. It was a Friday night, but the main area was not crowded. When the waiter came over he was friendly. He gave us a recommendation for an appetizer- the Calamari which turned out to be excellent. For our main course we ordered the Dry Aged bone in Ribeye which we shared. The steak was very tough even though it was prepared medium. The taste was ok, but not what you would expect from a high end steak house. We had a side of Brussels sprouts which we did not particularly care for. We have gone to most of the steak places in Baltimore, The Prime Rib, Capital Grille, Morton’s, Fleming’s and Ruth Chris and I would say Sullivan’s falls way short from any of them.
Poorly prepared and poorly presented food.
Filthy booth and floors.
Would NEVER RETURN TO THIS GHETTO LEVEL DUMP
Very quiet night, not sure why, maybe because it was a rainy night but not too busy. Food was amazing, our server was very helpful. We will be back!
I had my 25th birthday party here and it was an amazing dinner with great service. Since we went late on a Tuesday night it was fairly quiet but the attention to detail from the staff and chef was amazing
On this particular evening service was extremely slow while the place was at approximately 30% occupancy.
I wish I didn't have to leave a 1-star review, but given Saturday's experience, I have no other choice:
- we had no server
- it took 90 from ordering to receive our entrees (party of 4)
- 1 order of crab cakes arrived still frozen inside
- 1 bone-in ribeye arrived overcooked (all were ordered rare)
- we had to bus our own table
- my wine was poured into a water glass, not a glass for red
- this is not the quality of service, food or experience expected with at $500 bill
this used to be my husband's favorite steakhouse, but we would not recommend Sullivan's to anyone ever again.
We sat down and nobody came to our table for a good 10 minutes. The bus boy finally bought bread and I asked for water. Again nobody came to the table. We found the manager and he became our waiter. Service was extremely slow. It took almost an hour for our entrees to come out and when they did they were not hot.
Would not run back to the restaurant. We could t wait to get out of there
First time at Sullivan's will not be back not what you expect from a good steakhouse steak was good but service was slow and terrible with only like 4 tables of people and they keep forgetting stuff everytime stick with ruth chris
Dinner after a movie. My reservation went smoothly. We arrived closed to the kitchen closing, so the Host attempted to seat us in the bar area rather than the dining room. After explaining that I prefer the dining room seating, I was quickly sat. My server was very knowledgeable about the menu. He was also fast and polite. My food was amazing.
Waitress was really great tonight . The host were inviting even down to the Valet. Enjoyed it immensely. Had a show at 8pm was out in 40 mins
The restaurant was very nice near the convention center and it also had valet parking the clams and crab dip was outstanding Desert was great
It was birthday dinner. Server was nice. Took her a while to come to the table initially but was pretty attentive afterwards. Our appetizers came out quickly. Our food took over an hour. It was an extremely long wait fir the meal. The server explained the chef was new.
29 stir Martini-good
Seared ahi tuna-cooked perfectly and the sauce was amazing
Filet mignon- cooked perfectly and tender
Garlic mashed potatoes-just ok
Brussel sprouts-seasoned great but not tender enough.
Great food and atmosphere, no matter which location visited! Highly recommend for a great dining experience.
Awful. Just awful. After we sat down we were advised that they had a problem with the chef ordering the food and they were out of just about everything (literally) except the “House Steaks”. No Wagyu, no filet mignon, no specialty steaks, no pork or chicken, no salmon. It was too late for us to go somewhere else. So we were stuck.
The steaks came out cold. The sides came out 15mins after the entrees and the waiter was never around to get us another round of drinks.
They did shave everything but the entrees off the check, but it’s not about the money. Just very disappointing all around.
My wife and I went here for our Anniversary. Been doing this for 7 years now..
Bone in rib was fair
We expected better...
I would not recommend a friend to this restraunt, I believe the staff are very very friendly and knowledgeable of the food this restaurant provides. The food is far too over priced for what you receive and the alcohol can very quickly just be as expensive as the food.
Me and my date had a very nice dinner at Sullivan’s-Baltimore. The food was excellent. The manager Damon and his staff were amazing. They have a great selection of cigars. I will definitely be going back soon.
I had a great evening last night for date night. The food and service was on point. I also enjoyed the soft music in the background while having the best calamari appetizer ever. After dinner I had dessert on the patio with a tasty cocktail and a cigar . It was a little chilly and the manager Damon Hawkins had the heated lamps on to make sure we were cozy. I enjoyed the night at Sullivan's and will be back soon.
I love this place Food was excellent and the service was even better. Jessica was the best bartender I’ve ever had she took very good care of me. The manager Dexter also was very nice, he made a point to check on me to make sure everything was going well. I will be back every time I visit Baltimore!
Had an awesome time. Excellent drinks and food. This time we decided to stay at the bar and eat this time. Bartenders were knowledgeable, personable and fun!
Excellent steakhouse with good cocktails and attentive service.
Our server seemed overwhelmed and forgot to bring the drinks we ordered. Also we never got additional napkins we requested. I would expect better service in an establishment like this.
I have had good experiences at other Sullivan’s locations and was excited to have my fiancé dine with me here. First off we were the first in the dining room. The booth the hostess sat us at was quite dirty. Crumbs still on the table from the previous night. Dusty/broken lamp shade on light, dirty glasses, silverware and plates on the table. The hostess said they didn’t have someone to wipe the water spots after they are washed, but some of that was more than water spots.
We ordered off the Sure Thing menu. We got the caesar salad, shrimp and lobster bisque and I added french onion soup. The first course and bread was very good. But the 6 oz steaks came and they were pretty small. Yes I know they were only 6 oz, but seemed even smaller than that. They have a very heavily peppered rub on them. Definitely would ask for less of that if I would have known. I replaced the horseradish mashed with the au gratin potatoes and those were good. My fiancé did have the horseradish mashed and they were not good. Seemed old and not very tasty. We both got the bananas foster bread pudding and I remember this being delicious at the Indianapolis location. Here however was served cold and was not how I remembered at all. Overall I would not eat at this location again. I would choose Capital Grille or Gordon Ramsey Steak or almost any place other than here again.
Fantastic food and service and a great price for a quality dinner .
