Best meal in town. Hope to see it return to Austin in the near future.
Great as always. Sorry to see it go. Hope the replacement (Del Frisco) is comparable.
Needs major improvement. We waited way past our reservation time. Drinks are way over priced and the service is understaff. We felt like a number. The music was fantastic New Years Eve.
Sullivan’s customer service (extremely slow and forgetful) and food side servings does not warrant the cost.$75 each. One beer $12 really?
Las Vegas cruisine restaurants achieves all areas of customer service, drinks and food consistently.
We were seated next to the bathroom which had some sort of a major problem. So every time someone opened the bathroom door, we got a whiff of sewer. Not what you want to smell when eating a $75.00+ dinner. Expected a better experience.
Sullivan's is a very nice restaurant for special occasions. They had amazing food on NYE but I do think the courses came out a bit too fast, which made it difficult to finish what food you were already eating.
Great help and nice meal. Music a little loud but reminds of the old days when y’all were to go to place. Thanks
Went to the downtown Austin location for my wife’s birthday and the atmosphere was perfect and our waitress was exceptional.
We had reservations & still waited 2 hrs for our food. All of our steaks were undercooked & even raw in the middle. One of our steaks was sent back to be recooked & still was undercooked. Our bill was $500.00 & not worth $50.00. Many complaints to the Mgr. & nothing was done. This was suppose to be our special Christmas Eve Dinner. Very disappointed !
I haven’t been to Sullivan’s in a long time but I remember it being delicious fine dining. We went on Christmas Eve with our family of 6 for what I thought was to be a special night out. Everything was just eh! We never got our high chair as requested for my son which was fine. I know it was a busy night and he was able to sit in a regular chair I just had to keep an extra close eye on him at all times. Our server wasn’t warm. She wasn’t bad but she wasn’t good. But the real reason for the review is that my filet did not come out hot, nor was it served on a hot plate and there was no flavor. It was like they forgot the butter or something on top and it has been sitting out for some time. It was not tender and had no flavor. I mentioned it to the server but she didn’t seem apologetic or concerned nor did she send a manager or anything over to help. I had high hopes for a delicious meal and was very disappointed. Also, the music was exceptionally loud that night for some reason so we had to talk over it. I hope we just caught them on a bad night.
Poor service, Freezing cold, Steaks cooked completely wrong
We go to Sullivan's thrice annually; birthdays and anniversary. This has been our go to place for special occasions since 1996. It is sad to see it close.
we had a fabulous meal. our server was pleasant and on point and had a nice sense of humor. my boyfriend had a 12 oz filet and it was cooked just as he ordered it. the brussel sprouts were top notch. the aparagus were okay but nothing super out of the ordinary. i had the steak salad. it was good but had way too much dressing. the lettuce was drowning in it. i would recommend folks get the dressing on the side. the waiter brought out a birthday dessert, it was a traditional cheesecake. it was on point! overall we had a great experience!
The food and service were absolutely unbelievable. I had the Cowboy Ribeye with gorgonzola garlic butter and it just melted in my mouth. The next time I'm Austin I am definitely going back.
Although we had reservations we had to wait 15 minutes for a table. The food was increadable, however i did anticipate more from a five star steakhouse in the way of service which i considered to be subpar.
The noise level was tolerable but a bit too loud for the price....
Food was great, but service was so slow...3 hours at restaurant. I do know our server was spread thin, but shouldn't have been my problem, considering I made a reservation ahead of time and it was a very special occasion. Nothing comped after well done steak was served, instead of requested medium rare, and missing celebrating with dessert, because dinner ended so late, not to mention empty glasses, plates and much waiting. We love Sullivan's Downtown Austin, and are sad we had a disappointing experience.
3 courses $44! Outstanding steak. We all ordered from "The Sure Thing" menu. 6oz filet perfectly cooked to medium rare (you may choose to up the size, which one of our party did, for a few extra bucks) with the lobster-shrimp bisque app selection. Also excellent. (Salad and salmon selection options for the first and second course, too.) Dessert included as well. We will definitely make this a go-to due to the value without sacrificing quality or ambience.
Great meal, great service with our waiter Preston who was fantastic!, great time, bar is great as well.
Wonderful anniversary experience! Food & service were outstanding!
The hostess/greeter was so personable and pleasant. Perfect person to welcome everyone. Lobster and shrimp bisque was good. Try the brussel sprouts with caramelized onions and bacon. Um Good
Everything was very good! Food, service, ambience, only drawback was band in bar was a little too loud even in dinning area. I definitely would still recommend. Great steak and sides!!
The only problem I had was getting my walker through the revolving door. And getting down the steps to the restroom. Overall it was a very pleasant dining experience for me and my kids for Thanksgiving dinner.
My friend and I dined at Sullivan's on Thanksgiving for dinner. They offered a three-course, prix fixe meal, which was the perfect offering for this occasion. We started with the shrimp and lobster bisque, which was phenomenal and the highlight of the meal. I would order that again in a heartbeat.
Thanksgiving dinner was a 20 minute wait past the reservation time. Seemed understaffed - my drink was out several minutes before it was refilled. Food was only average; nothing stellar.
This was the worst food I’ve ever had!!!! Cold, spoiled !!! A TV dinner would have been better!!! We had to cook our own Thanksgiving dinner the next day. Horrible memory's for 2017 Thanksgiving plus had to pay over 200.00 . They should be ashamed to serve such food !!
Restaurant not prepared for a holiday dinner event - understaffed and understocked.
Reservation for Thanksgiving dinner, out of soup and dessert. Very noisy. Great waitress but hostess was very rude. Food was also not that great, except sweet potatoes.
It was devine! I would go back for any special occasion. They didn't have any vegetarian options for Thanksgiving, so I just didn't eat the meat, but would have loved a vegetarian or vegan option given its in Austin. But it was elegant and delish!
We had our Thanksgiving lunch at Sullivan’s. It was terrific. Reasonably priced, great service, and a la crate lunch selections available in addition to the prix fixe turkey lunch. Everything was delicious. It was a great low-stress holiday meal.
We went to Sullivan's to celebrate Thanksgiving with our daughter who is in college locally. The food was amazing! We arrived a little early but were seated right away. It was a very pleasurable experience. Thanks to Sullivan's for making our holiday one to remember!
Steak was perfect. Decor has been updated since we were last in & it was nice. Band in the bar provided nice ambiance. Service was excellent.
Enjoyed everything this evening!
Excellent steak. Texas should be proud of this establishment. It was exactly what I was looking for. Delicious food, great atmosphere and lovely decor. I will go again.
Parents fraternity weekend with our son and his date .
The prix fixe menu was a nice surprise on Friday night. However, the service was very slow and also the server forgot to deliver a side and forgot to have the kitchen make a requested substitution. The place was very loud with a live band which might have been enjoyable at a lower volume. The brussel sprouts were undercooked and were shaved, which looked more like a salad than a side of roasted sprouts. The steak was tasty but dry; the sauce was necessary. Crab & shrimp bisque was flavorful but a little spicy. Would not likely return given the multitude of options in the area (also this location is closing in the near future due to the location being redeveloped).
It was delicious. Our Server Quin was wonderful. Even recommended a lovely bottle of wine.
Atmosphere was good. Service was good. Food was very mediocre. Not impressed. My fillet was close jerky on the outside. Most likely worst fillet I have ever eaten. Sorry I was very hopeful to have a good dining experience. Especially for the money. Even my wife made a comment that she was underwhelmed.
The steak was tough, the band noise was deafening. The service was good.
Great food, great atmosphere. Waiter was excellent!
Excellent! Food was awesome. Can't wait to go back.
Spectacular food, stupendous service, overall a life altering experience.
