Sugo Kitchen Ratings and Reviews
Great Italian food with some interesting ingredients (dates and wild mushrooms were included in my pork loin and sausage dish). Portions were just right, not huge like some Italian restaurants. I had a salad and entree and had room for dessert. Great wine list with plenty of options by the glass.
Atmosphere is nice, low light and cozy decor.
When we told them wee we’re celebrating our anniversary, they brought a complementary glass of dessert wine.
Sugo has great food, but I would never go there again. We had reservations for 8pm and didn't get seated until 9:05. Ok, you're busy I get it; but then they sat us at a table and we didn't get drinks for 30 minutes!!!! Our server was nice but obviously she was in charge of way too many tables and couldn't keep up. Seriously, if I'd just had a drink in hand I probably could have dealt with the wait. I thought that once the restaurant slowed down for the night that we'd get more attention but no such luck. This dinner dragged on until after 11pm. Awful. Even though the food was good, I'd rather go to Trattoria 141 right down the street and get better service!
this is one of THE top restaurants outside the perimeter, people are actually bringing their passports and coming north over the perimeter line now to go to Sugos; the sauces are trult remarkable--a combo of Italian & Greek; creative combinations of food stuffs, fish, meat, puultry, veggies...lively but can carry on a conversation; some outdoor seating on nation is a nice touch; Fred and Nancy Castellucci are the ultimate experienced restaurant hosts and know exactly how everything is cooked to their family historical standards...
We've been going to Sugo's for some years now, it's our spot for our Anniversary. Only thing I noticed was the portions seemed smaller, especially with the appetizers. We had the wrapped dates and the grilled octopus. Flavors were great, but 4 small dates and 2 small pieces of octopus seemed smaller than I remember. Flavors are still excellent. Also noticed that the classic "purses" were no longer on the menu.
We arrived without a reservation and were promptly seated. Our server was friendly and very helpful with recommendations to accommodate my wife’s food sensitivities. I had the braciole , which is made with pork tenderloin here and is delicious. Desserts are excellent and we had a wonderful dinner.
I love Sugo. It is excellent every time my Husband and I go there. The service is always on point, they have amazing specials and the food is always fantastic. Mr. C and Nancy are always there and they always stop by the table to make sure everything is fantastic. We went this year again for my birthday because it is close to our house we always know what we are in for when we go, a great time! Thanks for my my birthday great Sugo!
Celebrated daughter’s birthday, everything was great. Food was delicious, service was great, and being a weeknight it wasn’t busy or noisy compared to ether a Friday or Saturday night. Very enjoyable evening. Happy Birthday to my daughter!!! We’ll be back again.
As always, a great meal at Sugo. Since our wedding rehearsal dinner in 2010, we figure that we have been to Sugo upwards of 30 times; almost every time has been a pleasure. The waitstaff seems to be going thru a little transition, so you may get someone new to the game. That in no way can take away from the tremendous food and great atmosphere. As nice as it is here...we are always amazed that people come in with baseball caps and others with shorts and sandals?? The bacon wrapped dates and arancini are outstanding and nothing beats Aunt Lena's chicken. Thanks
Recommended by a friend. Great service and food. Went early so it was quiet at first but as we were leaving, it got more crowded and a little loud for those who were waiting for a table. Our table was close to the bar which is probably why but for most of the evening it was serene. Food is excellent and service was superb. Highly recommend.
