Sugo Kitchen Ratings and Reviews
The food was mediocre. My chicken dish was extremely salty and I had asked for the dates to be deleted, they weren't. It also tasted flat - not bad but flat. k My husband's shrimp scampi dish was just ok but lacked the dash of flavor some other restaurants seem to be able to add. We did not get any bread to go with our appetizer salads which were tasty but small.
Oh, and the lighting is so bad everyone around us, including me, was using their phone flashlight to see the menu. Finally, a group in another room was making a lot of noise, including loud screeches. Somehow or other, they should have been asked to quiet down. I like a lively place but these were screeches not happy laughter or discussion babble.
This was our second time. We were not impressed the first time but decided to give it a second try over a year later. We should not have done so.
I ordered a dish and then added salmon to it. When it came out the salmon had bones in it. The waitress took it away immediately and the owner came over right away to apologize. I said no worries I’ll juat take the dish without the salmon and she made me a fresh dish and then didn’t charge me for it at all. Way too generous but so appreciated the amazing customer service! Very nice people!
My wife and I had a wonderful time as usual. Alex at the bar made the best crafted cocktails while we waited to be seated. We almost always get the seafood special because we like to try different creations. Chef prepared us a fantastic meal! We also wanted to be sure and mention our amazing server Steven. He is an outstanding addition to the staff and we look forward to having him with us next time. As always, thank you Nancy and Mr. C!
This place can never go wrong. The owners come and check throughout your seating. A one food and cosy ambience. It was my husband's bday and they decorated the dessert as I asked for. It was a beautiful experience. Thank you team Sugo. Terry the hostess was lovely and our server was great! Chocolate Mousse was to die for.
Celebrated our anniversary there and put that in when makingnthe reservation.. yet when we got there.. no one asked us the name on the reservation nor did they bother to check and see that we were celebrating our special day. No point putting it there.
Staff couldnt care less. Our server was polite though.
Two of us enjoyed our food. My husband was very disappointed. His chicken breast was very plain and over pasta with a bit of sauce. Very unexceptional. My scallops were very good. However, it was New Year's Eve and you could tell that much of the food was prepared ahead, like the salads. We felt VERY rushed to turn the table. Our waitress was pleasant but approached us five times in the first several minutes to get our drink and appetizer order. She also forgot to give us bread and forgot to bring a soda with our meal. The seating was very tight. I would not recommend for New Year's Eve.
Sugo never disappoints - we have been here a few times and it has become a staple for us for anniversary or special date-nights. We have also had a company dinner here and enjoyed the back room - perfect for our group of 8 people. Staff and food are always top notch!
Dinner with our family visiting from out of town. The menu was very limited, as they have removed several entrees, like lasagna and plain old spaghetti! Our group had four children and the selection was aweful. The entrees we did order were very small and the salads which were shared were a joke-very,very small! You would think that spending $400.00 for a party of eight would not leave the group feeling hungry. We had a snack and dessert at home! We will not be returning to this restaurant! It used to be one of our favorites, but not anymore! By the way it was not very busy-now we know why.
Bookjed a table for 2 through Open Table at 6:15. Didn't get seated till 6:45. Was told they seated people who cla aimed to have an Open Table reservation but weren't found in their system, so they were behind as they wanted to accommodate those people. I told them they s should be sble to produce an email confirmation on their phone. I suspect people juyst say they have one but don't. A although it may have been great service to those people without reservations being confirmed, it was terrible for us who could be confirmed and had to wait. Fortunately we just made our movie on time. But despite the terrible organization, the food was very good and relatively quick. Our waitress was very good and could sell you a postage stamp..lol.
Sugo is one of our favorite restaurants. The food is fresh and delicious. The service is impeccable. The owners are on site each evening attending to every detail. They have one of the best stocked bars in town and offer unique hand made cocktails. All this for much less than you would expect to pay for this level of quality. I can’t wait to go back!
Overall food was just ok for me and my wife. Unfortunately, the night we were there they had a murder mystery dinner thing going on which had a party of 50 people (which apparently required each couple ordered separately instead of doing buffet style). We waited an hour just to get our food and then we felt the food was just ok. Service was very good and the owner was attentive due to the long wait. They also did give out free appetizers to all of the regular dining guests because of the long wait. Wine list was a little off and nothing we tried paired well with what we ate. Overall vibe and atmosphere was nice, but probably won’t be back.
Outstanding! Was recommended by a friend and wasn’t disappointed. The food, staff, waitress, everything was great and we’ll be back for sure. The only thing I didn’t like was where we were seated. It’s why I didn’t give it 5 stars and low ambiance rating. We were a couple and seated at a two person table (which is fine). But, we were sandwiched btw two four person tables w one side a long booth seat. It was tight quarters and wasn’t the privacy I expected w/my wife so we could talk freely and enjoy each other’s company. We just felt like it was impossible for everything not to be shared across all three tables, conversation especially. Just too tight spaced and created the impression that they have it to stuff as many folks in as possible. I’d recommend them taking it out and then the two Four tops would be spaced enough for some privacy. We will be back and I’ll just ask for another area now that I know the place better.
While the food was delicious, the prices are quite high for portions. We were there for our anniversary and had a second meal free but only up to $15. There is virtually nothing in that price range. We spent well over $125, sharing salad and one appetizer and dessert.
I feel fortunate to live close to this great restaurant. The owners are usually there to ensure you feel welcome and to make sure that everything is exceptional. I’ve had many of the items on the menu but my favorites are the flatbread appetizer, the meatball appetizer, the braciole and the scallops. The flatbread has pork, arugula and a clear balsamic that work so well together. The scallops are always fresh and delicate and never over cooked. From what I understand the braciole is the owner’s special dish. The sausage filling isn’t overpowering but balances out all of the flavors of the entire dish. I’ve never left disappointed with anything: food, cocktails, service, etc.. Excellent!
