   Sugarbacon is one of our favorite places. We went on Mother's Day and although it was still wonderful, it was a little of a let down. Their signature "Sugarbacon" used to be a perfect bite of food. Now it's overcooked bacon with salsa on it and that was the biggest let down. Our waitress tried hard, but spent more time apologizing than serving. She was sweet, but seemed overwhelmed. Nevertheless, we had a great evening.

   We went for Mother's day and had reservations at 1:30pm. We did not have any idea that only a limited brunch menu was available during this time. There was no notification or mention of this via the open table app nor the website. It was our first time there and it was super lackluster. Drinks took forever and the sugarbacon app was not great. We decided to just get the check and go elsewhere in the downtown area for food. Maybe we will come back and check out the place when the full menu is available but this did not leave us to really want to try again.

   We decided to try Sugar Bacon on recommendations of other from OpenTable and we made a reservation for 10 for Mothers Day Brunch. Server and atmosphere were great, however I think they felt the need to pre-make some of their items anticipating a Mothers Day rush. We had a 9 am reservation and were one of the first in the restaurant so it was surprising that some of our food had the feel of being premade. One had the Chix and Waffles and they said it was outstanding, 2 others had the Peaches and Creme French Toast and both orders were served luke-warm, tasty but not fresh, the remainder had their proper breakfast, the biscuits almost had a scone feel that were very dry and room temperature, bacon on the majority of the plates were undercooked and two of us had the sausage and it was a little cold in the middle - it felt the only thing that was made to order were the eggs. Service was great and we loved our waiter. Was hoping for better.

   We had such a great time, food was absolutely delicious and service was great!! Loved that we were able to sit outside to enjoy that beautiful weather and our little 4 legged girl even got some bacon treats 🫶🏼

   Sugar bacon is an excellent find. Their food is a great quality. Their service is very good. The atmosphere is that one of calmness. I would highly suggest this place be on everyone’s radar.

   Food has taken a major downturn. Sugar bacon was dry and lacked flavor. Chicken was dry.

   This is a fantastic place to eat in McKinney. Food is excellent and all staff fantastic ! We highly recommend it!

   ***Update: A manager at Sugarbacon called me today to apologize for our brunch experience yesterday. He made no excuses, but assured me that his management team had carefully reviewed their buffet pricing, food, and fee strategy yesterday and agreed that it did not reflect the experience that strive to provide. He issued us a full refund and the opportunity to return for a fully-comped meal ordered from their menu. I appreciated his reaching out and am willing to give them another chance. ——————— Bad brunch experience at Sugarbacon in McKinney today. Brunch buffet was just ok, nothing special and food was barely warm. Mimosa flight was nice and service was fine. After we left, we noticed they’d added a 20% service fee for our party of 4 (before gratuity). I spoke with the manager later to ask about the extra service fee, but he seemed unconcerned and just said we should’ve read the receipt more closely. True enough, but we will never go back to Sugarbacon. There are many other better options in Downtown McKinne
