   The backdrop of this place is stunning and super organic. Booked a 615 res and got to see the sunset. We were greeted promptly, and the hostess was very friendly. We were seated in the outdoor section which was great. The assortment of outdoor bugs posed an issue and we were never offered to switch seats but we made the best of it. The waitress was helpful and sweet and have some great suggestions for meals drinks and appetizers. Nice chefs touch we were presented with fresh bread and chefs house special dips - delicious. Chefs appetizer sample a cold smoked salmon bite with Wasabi cream - awesome. It was my best friends birthday and they came out with a chocolate cake to sing to her, then a desert sampler compliments of the chef - so beautiful and tasty. We had oxtail ravioli, jerk chicken rolls, and pork belly for apps, beef tenderloin with rum sauce, lemon creme jerk chicken, crayfish bisque, and sweet potatoes gnocchi. Dessert we shared coffee creme brulee and chocolate lava cake. All delicious. We had a total of 7 drinks between the 4 of us. A bit expensive and although we were only 4 gratuity was included. All in all a memorable night

   The food was very good and the ambiance was quite pleasant. But service could be more attentive. Sure there is “island time,” but we had to repeatedly ask for simple water refills, something the staff could have been attentive too. Especially for the price of the meal. Laid back service for a $ is ok. For a $$$+ meal it’s not acceptable.

   The team at the Sugar Mill were extremely hospitable. From Robert, the GM, to our waitress and her trainee and the bartenders, including Andrew and Stephon. The food was excellent and should you find yourself in Montego Bay, it is definitely worth a visit. The prices are a little high but then again it is part of one of the nicest resorts on the island.    The appetizers were scrumptious. Big portions so go with an empty stomach. Chef came out after our meal to see if we enjoyed it. He was delightful. Ambience exceptional

   Beautiful ambiance, outstanding service and delicious food and drinks. Nothing on the menu disappointed! In addition to attentive and caring service, we were also treated to a walk up to the fish pond and tiny waterfalls behind the restaurant. They also were very helpful in providing a small table fan to keep the table clear of insects. Worth a visit any time, but especially gorgeous in the sunset hours.

   Amazing service and lovely location, would’ve been nice if it had been more busy. We came in between high travel weeks and it was somewhat boring to have to so few people in the restaurant. With that said, we had great service and felt very well taken care of. Compared to restaurants in other Caribbean islands we’ve been to and NYC, the food was average.

    I appreciated how welcoming the staff was, the ambience was lovely, the food *chef's kiss*. Will definitely be back when next I visit St James.
