Sugar Factory - Pentagon Mall
The waitress was
Waitress was very sweet but the place was dirty. They made my birthday feel great but just not a very clean place and all of the candy was out of stock. If it’s a sugar place i’d think it would have lots of candy and sugar. Won’t be going back
All of the staff were great (Aaron was very accommodating) and the restaurant was crowded (service tends to be compromised), but the food wasn't as good as I would have expected for the price (the shrimp alfredo with shrimp had way to much sauce), but my husbands surf & turf was done perfectly. It was some what disappointing to that the candy area wasn't completely stocked. Plus, the floors were a little sticky - to be expected with all the sugary drinks and some of the tables and chairs needed repair (table tops gobbles and wicker chair seats had holes).
Too expensive for what you get!!! The dry ice drinks are super cute for the kids, but at $23+ per drink be careful it gets expensive. Our server was wonderful. We had three sugar drinks, 1 appetizer, a burger, waffles, fettuccine, chicken and waffles, 1 milkshake, and one other dessert and it cost us $225 and that is without the tip. Shocking for your inexpensive pub food items that fed a family of 4. The kids enjoyed the experience, but save yourself the money, and just go for a drink or a dessert.
It was my wife's birthday and I made reservations a day earlier, our table open up when it said it would which was very professional, the customer service was OUTSTANDING! we even got help from other waiters after our waiter help us,we didn't have to ask for anything .My wife loved her drinks and the food was delicious I had the swiss Turkey Burger, when you visit I highly recommend if your lucky you get the waiter name Tay his customer service was great & very professional he made sure our first experience was amazing and of course we will be coming back!
This was an awesome experience my waitress Janaya was AMAZING even tho they charged me for the Sparkles without telling me i enjoyed EVERYTHING for my husband Birthday
Everyone was very friendly and the food was amazing!
The experience was wonderful and our server was excellent. The food was just ok.
First time at a sugar factory, likely won’t go to another. It was very loud, tables were all wobbly. Took the waitress about 4 or 5 try’s to find us a suitable table. The setup is not the best, a lot of random tables out in the open with a few booths towards the back of the establishment. The food isn’t worth the price. The calamari cost 15, but you can tell it’s cheap frozen calamari you can purchase from the frozen section of your local grocery store (for 2.99). It came out somewhat warm, probably the worst calamari I’ve had. I had the “cheesy” burger (very dry), my date had the chicken and waffles which she said was “OK”. All in all we spent around 100 dollars for the experience and an extremely sweet 30 dollar “goblet” drink, that seemed to have way more candy/sugar in it than liquor. Staff was friendly, and honestly that’s the only positive. Would not recommend, would not go back.
This is a fun place to go with kids to celebrate their birthdays. It is rather expensive but I was very surprised by the quality of the food as our table of 7 all enjoyed our meals. Some meals were a bit strange but that's the whole enjoyment of the experience. Our waiter did a great job but service was very very slow and it took my kids about 45mins to get their milk shakes. I ordered a veggie alfredo but it came with chicken which was just a mistake and got my veggie meal within a few mins. Wasn't until I got home I discovered I was charged for a veggie and chicken meal but got it sorted out. I would highly recommend this place as we had so much fun and everyone should have a Sugar Factory experience once!
This location is really busy. We went on a Sunday and it was still a wait even though we had a reservation. In my opinion for the price of the food the place should be more up to date the chairs we sat in looked like beach chairs. We we next to luggages and strollers from customers which was not a good look. Other than that the food was pretty good and the birthday celebrations were nice.
The entire restaurant was dirty, the server gave us water that had what looked like old dried up food floating in it and stuck to the inside of the glasses.
Great service.... Outstanding food. I will definitely recommend Sugar Factory to my family, friends, colleagues!
Very friendly and accommodating staff! Excellent food!
We enjoyed our lunch, the Salmon salad was absolutely delicious. However, being a former restaurant GM, I notice a lot of details like dust buildup, sticky menus etc.. I would just say pay more attention to these areas. Our server was fantastic and everyones meal was very good.
This place was PHENOMENAL! Every time I go to DC it’s a MUST that I visit this place. It was absolutely wonderful and there birthday celebration was awesome!!!!!
I had a 7:45 reservation and didn't get seated 8:50. And then it took approx 45 mins for my order
Too many ppl, too loud and the Mac and cheese hamburger was nasty. Too dam expensive
My family and I loved the ambience of the resturant. Everyone from the host to our servicer was very friendly and helpful especially since it was our first time visiting. We'll definately be returning to try more dishes...there was so much to choose from!
Great experience overall. They only thing that I would change is that when a family member of the staff comes in they should not receive they’re food first before the other guess that have been waiting for their food for about 30 minutes. I feel that it’s disrespectful. I understand that family comes first, but everyone should be treated equally family, paying customers etc.
Celebrated my 28th birthday and had a great time! I would highly recommend this place. My waiter was friendly and full of positive energy. The only thing that was a little weird was that the lights kept flickering. Other than that, it was overall a great experience!
It was an overall nice experience. It's really overrated and very very overpriced. I don't have anything bad to say about the this place but to say it's a one time experience. A non-alcoholic drink is $24 and an alcoholic drink is $30 and you barely get a buzz. The food taste like it was out a box or bag. The food delivery was very slow and it wasn't crowded when I went, I can only imagine how it is when it's crowded. All of our food staggered out and was not delivered together. My family was finish their food by the time I got mines. I just had to go to see what all the hype was about and that's all it is is hype!!! I could've went to a high end 5 star restaurant and spent less or around the same money for better food quality and ambience. I will add I liked the energy when they sang Happy birthday!
The bowl drinks are super expensive! Great place to celebrate a special occasion.
everyone in restaurant was seated in one area when the place was nearly empty. When we asked to move to an open table a few feet down the hostess said “this is the best I can do.” Food was flavorless and drinks didn’t taste anything near as described. Server was nice and checked on us frequently but that was the only good in the place.
Recommend going to celebrate a birthday! It made the whole experience so much fun.
I came for a late lunch at 2pm. It was quiet, fast service. The food was great!
The number of choices for drinks are incredible, took me 10 minutes at least to pick! I got the banana bowl which was really good and a force to be reckon with. We shared the sampler which filled us so we decided to come back another time to have an entree and dessert!
I was extremely upset to see that there had been changes to the happy hour menu only being offered exclusively through the bar area only. It seems to unfair to not specify this upon advertising that they do offer happy hour and especially when some locations still continue to offer it in the bar AND restaurant area. This can be confusing, particularly because you are a national chain and Pentagon City is an area with heavy tourism that would not be used to the rules being different at different locations.
Celebrated my daughter's birthday. Good time, food overpriced. They enjoyed the regular shakes!!
Horrible service, waited 25+ minutes for water and still didn’t even get it, really loud crowd (birthday parties were booked).
The food was nasty. We kept having different waitresses. We got our food late
I came here for my 30th. I enjoyed the atmosphere the most. And the bday song !!! Faye was very sweet and attentive. The food was good besides the surf and turf dish I ordered. It was over cooked. But Faye instantly got the chef to make another one for me. I appreciated that. I will definitely be coming back
It was our first time and it was very exciting. The food and drinks were really pricy.
our server Latifah was amazing! she mad the whole experience very pleasant!
I had a two reservation for 7:45 pm. I waited over an hour to be seated. The best part was that the host accommodated having all my guest sit together. After waiting an hour to be seated the wait for our drinks and food was extremely exhausting. We watched people who was seated after us get their drinks and food besides us. We were celebrating two birthdays and wanted to get the song played for us and the waiter took extremely long that we was no longer interested. I wanted to pay for my check and ended up asking another waiter ( he wasn’t nice at all, ignored us when tried to get his attention.) to process payment for me because I couldn’t find my waiter. Maybe a better experience on another day.
Having a reservation means nothing you still have to wait.
We had a reservation for 6:15 but when we arrived they pushed us back until 6:35 because tables were staying longer (understandable). However- once seated we didn't have great service. The waitstaff took 10+ minutes to get to our table to take an order and then even longer to bring back our waters. Once we ordered it was 45 minutes before we saw our food.
We placed our dessert order as soon as our food came out & waited another 25 minutes for milkshakes. The entire process took over 2 hours- just for a meal with no drinks.
You have a great birthday song...if you sing. The reservations were listed as a birthday and the birthday girl had a birthday hat on. The waiter even said happy birthday. A dessert was ordered and was presented without a song. She wasnt even asked if she wanted that done. It was very disappointing. A huge goblet was ordered and the logo was entirely scratched off so much so that you could not even make out what it said. That was ordered for picture opportunities but it looked stupid with the worn off logo. That was also disappointing. A veggie burger was requested without tomato and without mayo. Both were on it. The milkshake with the blue donut monster and cupcake was ordered. There were no eyes on either to make it look like a monster. There was no icing on the cupcake and the icing on the donut looked like a kindergartener has done it. It looked like a Pintrest fail. Plus it tasted awful. The root beer float drink was supposed to have gummys in it and it did not. With that being said, the fries were good. My daughter loved the donut burger. The actual milkshake waa good and you have chocolate covered gummy bears our front which are hard to find. Overall, I was disappointed with the high cost of the meal when taking into account all the inconsistencies.
Fun place! Ice cream presentations are out of this world! Only negative, service is SLOW. It wasn't busy as we went at 11am and you would have thought, based on the snail paced service, that the place was packed. Be prepared to wait for your order.
