Sugar Factory - Pentagon Mall Ratings and Reviews
Absolutely the worst experience I have ever had at any restaurant!!! We were treated poorly, got no food even after waiting an hour. No service at all other than the 3 drinks and one coffee that my children and I ordered. We were put in a corner and left there. This was supposed to be a Christmas treat for my grandchildren, instead we left without any food because I refused to wait any longer. We were comped our drinks but no apology, it was like they didn't care at all. Will never return!
Floors were sticky. Menu smelled and made my nose run. The Chinese chicken salad was soggy and chicken was dry. The music was super loud. The huge cocktail was okay, but wish they made the cocktails with something other than Virginia black or vodka. I would come here for the dessert and cocktails only.
My experience was awful it was my daughters 9th birthday and she was so disappointed. They didn't have anything she asked for. They didn't have the colorful buns for mini hamburgers and every drink she asked for was not available for them to make. The server messed up our order several times. Complete disaster my daughter was so upset she cried. Wouldn't recommend this location to anyone.
The drinks and the milkshakes were delicious but the food wasn’t anything to write home about. Then again, I doubt anyone is going to Sugar Factory for the food. It was a little bit on the pricy side but the service was good and overall it was a good experience
The only issue I had was there weren't any pricing next to the drinks! I spent $80! 30 for mine 48 2 kids drinks. I should've asked how much before ordering and the gratuity was way too high! That's my first and last time there. My 12 yr old had a good time for his bday however.
The atmosphere was lacking, it felt run down, the store portion was a huge let down, the service was terrible. The only positive thing was the food, although pricey it was good quality. I would not pay for another $70 lunch at this location and I’m hesitant on trying another location because of my first experience here.
No covers for the straws. They literally brought the straws out wrapped in a napkin uncovered. McDonalds has covers for their straws...My friend asked for a drink that required Red Bull. Guess what? No Red Bull. He decided he wanted a dessert with Mint Ice Cream. No Mint Ice Cream. It Took 30-45 min to get drinks. Fries were cold when they were brought to the table and none of this was the waitresses fault. It was all behind the scenes. The waitress, Brianna, and the pricey goblet Mai Tai was the most pleasant part of the evening.
first let me say I made sure to make a reservation ahead of time because it was my daughters birthday. We had a reservation for 7:30 we were not seated until 8pm. Upon being seated our waitress came over and took our drink orders, after waiting for about 15 mins she informed us that they had NO CLEAN GLASSES!!! Im not sure how that is possible on a busy Saturday night but ok. Now after waiting she brought out two drinks first then we waited another 20 mins for the rest of our drinks(party of 8). My cousin had none of the condiments listed in her drink literally it was just liquor and dry ice :(
Now she took another hour to take our order by this time the kids were hungry and pretty much over the whole experience but we made the best of it. The food was nothing to write home about and to be honest had it been cold the kids still would have ate it. Not a somewhere I would recommend for parties of more than 2! Our waitress was nice I wish I could remember her name and I understood it wasnt truly her fault.
We celebrated my daughter "Sweet Sixteen Birthday"...We had reservations for six and eight guest showed up, the manager on staff was very proactive in accommodating us, which I really appreciated her doing so. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to my friends. I'm also considering celebrating my 56 birthday here...Love it!!!
My experience was horrible. I made a reservation for my birthday, so I had a large party. I know that with larger parties, it may take some time to get everyone’s orders out. But this was just ridiculous. We sat at our table for an hour and a half before we even got our drinks. And when they did bring our drinks, the just brought the cups with ice. There was no actual drink in the glasses. So our orders had to be taken again. It took another hour, AFTER ALREADY HAVING BEEN WAITING FOR AN HOUR AND A HALF, for us to get our food. When the food did come, some people got their food at one time and others had to wait an additional thirty minutes for their food. The food was cold. Some was undercooked and others were over cooked. Some of the food was just straight up nasty. I understand that sometimes the kitchen is preparing to close late at night. But considering that we were seated at 10 pm and the restaurant didn’t close until 2 am, there was no excuse for the terrible service. The manager was kind enough to give us feee drinks, but even he seemed to have an attitude when we brought our issues to our attention. Our waiter messed up on the check, TWICE. And when I brought it to his attention, he had an attitude as well. We were seated at 10 pm and we literally didn’t leave until almost 2 am. And it wasn’t because we were having such a great time that we didn’t want to leave. The service was just THAT slow and bad. I was really excited when I heard about sugar factory at Pentagon City because it’s the closest sugar factory w/ a restaurant to me. And I love sugar factory! But after this visit, I would rather just go out of town to a sugar factory that actually provides good service. If you are thinking of going to the sugar factory at Pentagon City, I hope your experience is far more pleasant than mine was.
Big glass of cocktails were very good. Servers were not good at all might because of so busy. They served our food but we didn’t have any forks, knife, spoon napkins. Even asked about that they said just wait sit on your table we waited long time completely cold our food when we were ready to eat. We were only Asians when we visited there so I asked for birthday sparkle for my friend so what I noticed was they usually one by one for sparkle and for us it was different some other guys we together got sparkle. We were really disappointed in service but gave a tip 50$ Suddenly servers changed to be so nice🤣 before we left they give one more last shot of cream cockteil. I think they should better to serve little fast and more consouisly.
This was the WORST experience EVER, we came to celebrate my birthday and to begin with we had reservations at 4:15pm did not get seated till 5pm. It then took us 20 minutes to even get some water. Our waiter was extremely nice but unfortunately he was all ALONE there was no manager on duty and there was NO ONE in the kitchen and there was no busers either as all the tables still had all the dirty dishes on top of them for the first hour and 20 minutes that we were there. We stayed due to the fact that we truly felt so bad for our waiter Arron, he was trying so hard and for that reason alone we did not make a big deal. But really at the end of our visit to this OVER priced restaurant we did not end up getting any of the food we ordered and when they actually did bring us the one drink we ordered it had no alcohol in it. I was so shocked at the service especially since this is a tourist area I really thought we would at least get our appetizers. We ended up paying for the drink which was $30 and we still gave our waiter a tip since he was being so nice but really as we sat there we saw 4 other tables leave since they had not gotten their food either. before we got our bill the new manager arrived and was apologetic but at that point it was 7:08 pm and I was ready to leave because I was really hungry. I have reached out to the corporate office but have not received any return call or email. Thank you for taking the time to read this
The food was bland, during the birthday song the sh cut the music right in the middle then when they turned it back on her candle was out. It took almost a hour to get our food. And the food didn’t taste very well at all. Spent over 500 bucks for a bad time for my daughters 13 birthday
When I walked in the doors were stuck together which seemed like they were locked, I asked if my son and boyfriend could come in but because they werent on the reservation they said no ,the wait wasnt very long but we were sat in a corner where one of the seats blocked the aisle the only plus about that was we had a charger outlet -the server Roy was attentive yet a dry funny which seemed ok once the drinks got there . He handed us our drink with ice and candy and said enjoy which wasnt funny at all 30 dollars later the wings were good but the presentation of them looked unappetizing overall I would go back just so my boyfriend and son could join me the next time around
Was pleased with the experience, despite the poor service from our waitress. The food came out cold and we had to serve ourselves. However, the manager accommodate us and helped make my best friend’s birthday amazing. I would recommend the place and restaurant just not the waitress.
Good thing I went for my birthday, because they're great for birthdays. But, otherwise I don't think I would go back. Who knew you could mess up burgers and fries, but they did. And the drinks were cool to watch but mine didn't taste that great. Also, it took a long time to order and get our food. My guests were getting anxious. For birthdays and special occasions, I'd give it a 4, but 3 overall.
Met some friends for dinner here on an weeknight and it was way too noisy to enjoy the meal. Even with a reservation, host staff was so disorganized it took a while to get seated. Music was so loud, you could barely hear each other talk. Great for kid's birthdays or if you just want to eat and not talk to anyone you're with, but otherwise, you're better off picking someplace else if you don't like music blasting at top volume while you eat. Food was alright and desserts are really fun and over the top. Worth a visit to check out the novelty, but not likely to return.
We went there for my son's tenth birthday and it costed 400.00 dollars for 5 ppl. We only ordered one drink per person and one meal pp they didn't even eat appetizers In order for them to sing happy birthday to my son we were forced to buy a slice of cake which would be free anywhere else then on top of that they charged us an extra 5 dollars for the candle. That place is over rated I'll say that. The drinks were over priced for some candy and kool-aid soda drinks. 24.00 for a kid to drink kool-aid and candy. This place is def not a place anyone should go twice. They had no kids drinks something that would be smaller to accommodate them. Needless to say they didn't finish the drinks. Me on the other hand by the time my food arrived I was full drink from the drink. The kids liked the place only because of the decorative drinks and candy me I could have gone to a steakhouse for that kind of money. They need a kids drink menu bc that was a waste of money. And please charging ppl for a slice of cake and a sparkle candle was the silliest thing ever. They need to stop penny pinching and give ppl good service for the amount your spending for kool aid/soda candy.
Customer service was not an issue. Brittany was our server and other than placing my order wrong we had no issues with her. Our problem was the food. We had 11:15 reservations, doors open at 11. The food tasted and smelled like it was left over from the night before. Several members of our party ordered chicken and waffles. The chicken was not cooked well. The waffles were dry. I ordered chocolate chip pancakes but recd cookies and cream, which was under cooked pancakes with Oreo cookies crumbled on top. We were there to celebrate a birthday. The server offered a dessert and a song which I was charged $10 without prior warning. We were charged for an additional chicken and waffle order. Luckily we checked our bill. The server removed some of the meals but the stench of the chicken was grotesque. We will not be returning. Over priced and over rated.
I made a reservation on open table for 12 mid night. We arrived 10 mins late & they pretty much cancelled the reservation & told us we couldn't even get a drink at the bar. Keep in mind the bar was still open & people were still drinking. On the website they say they don't even close until 1am. I think the staff just didn't want to deal with anymore customers & were ready to go home!
I've been to this Sugar Factory a few times and this was by far the worst. The hostesses were unprofessional and refused to seat my parties together before intense negotiation. The restaurant was almost empty but they squeezed my party in the corner next to dirty mop water and highchairs. Service was terrible. The waitress took forever. My drinks came halfway through my meal. I'm so disappointed. There were no managers to apologize, and this wasn't even a busy night for the restaurant.
The goblins drinks were pretty good. The service was horrible, when we first got there we wasn’t greeted at all. When me and my fiancé first walked in the host said “YALL GOT A RESERVATION?” Us: Yes for 7:30 Host: “OH IGHT” even with reservations we waited for about 30 mins because they said they get over booked. Once sat we maybe seen our waiter 2 times and that was only because she brought our food out and drink out. The wings were good overall. I will not be going back though unless I have a absolute taste for the expensive goblin
