Sugar Factory - Chicago River North
Book your next event with us
The atmosphere was fun but if you didnt want one of the large cocktails the rest was just ....lacking
The rainbow slides as an appetizer are great 👍
Awesome experience. Portions are huge so we’d know to share next time.
Love this place will definitely be back again. Awesome awesome food and drinks
The experience is what you pay for. Don’t expect to be wowed by the food.
What a racket. Six of us ate there and none had anything good to say about the food. The service was so-so but they charged us an automatic 20% for a party of six so their motivation was low. The bathrooms were filthy! Overflowing trash cans, paper everywhere. Soap all over the counter- gross. I get the gimmick and my teen girls were excited to go there so we did once. Will not be back. Save the & Chicago has soooo many better choices
We shared a non alcoholic lollipop passion goblet. It was pretty expensive ($30) but it was a good portion size for sharing and absolutely worth the pictures and memories. Also tasted sweet but good
Not impressed with quality of food, but customer service was EXCELLENT!
Our waiter was fantastic and very attentive. The was pretty good at best but the goblet signature drink lived up to expectations!
Alll in all it was a great and peaceful experience. The waiter was very nice and quick. Made sure we were taken care of and waited in a timely manner. Definitely will be returning.
This was a super fun dining experience! I didn't know what to expect, but it was a very fun evening! The server was very attentive and made all the additions we asked for. There are so many choices it is a good idea to check the menu before you get there. Good food and fun atmosphere!
We ordered one of their famous large drinks, assuming it contained alcohol. ( when you go to a bar and order a drink, it is assumed it contains alcohol). However, the waiter assumed that we wanted it virgin. While we were drinking the drink, we didn’t taste any alcohol but assumed it was so sugary or very weak that we didn’t taste it. ( everyone has had a drink that was very sweet and tasted like nothing). When the bill arrived, we noticed it said virgin. We asked the server about it and he was EXTREMELY rude. He blamed us for not just handing our ids to him and didn’t seem to care about this mishap. Thankfully, the manager handled the situation well ( although I directly had to ask to speak to the manager since the waiter was just going to run our cards). When the server came back to give us our change, he again was very rude and never even apologized. He also gave my friend an incorrect amount of change ( our mistake that we realized it after we left. She paid 40$ cash for a 13$ bill and was given change that was 10 dollars short.) Whether the server took the money for himself or made an honest mistake is unknown. I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone. It is all about the hype ( you get cranky hostesses and serves). Also, there is a hangout section towards the back of the restaurant where the servers all just mingle . I saw my server sitting down multiple times instead of getting us our drink ( we got our food before the drink came). He was busy putting hairspray in his hair instead of giving even close to decent service. I would give 0 stars if possible.
The service was excellent and the food was good but prices for goblet drink was ridiculous and the restrooms was not clean. Most of toilets did not flush and they smelled.
Despite the many issues, my family and I had a good time. The issues were as followed: my husband’s steak was ordered as medium but cooked to well, the waitress broke a glass in my daughter’s lap, dessert was brought out with no spoons, we had to ask for spoons a second time, our lattes took 27 minutes to get to the table, I had to ask twice for a soda pop.
The service was great! However, the food was room temperature and did not taste fresh. The floors and tables were sticky, and the bathroom was a mess. The $35 goblet didn’t taste like it had much alcohol in it, despite claims to have 8 shots.
I have been there twice for events and even with a reservation. You have to wait 15-30 minutes for a table. The front is always disorganized. This time we waited 15 minutes for a table and then 20 minutes once we received a table to see a waiter and get water. Food is good once you get it. You have to be at the restaurant a long time.
We went to Sugar Factory for my now 12 year old’s birthday. She wanted to “experience” the place. She and her friends loved the large goblet drinks and did justice to them by sharing and finishing them. The rest of the lunch was bad though. Food is not good, service is quite poor. I agree they are busy but if you are staying busy, you should probably hire more wait staff not let people languish waiting for their meal. I don’t expect to go back.
Absolutely terrible. Had a reservation and still had to wait 30 minutes for a table. Finally got a table and the server didn’t get to us for another 30 minutes no water or anything. Then messed up my order and as I proceeded to tell him it was wrong he kept telling me i was not right. I had to get a menu and point to what I wanted to prove that I was indeed right and was given the wrong drink and still had to pay for it
Everything about our first experience here was great. The only thing I don’t agree with is the 20% service charge for a party of 5. I don’t think that should be automatically added. A party of 5 is a normal family size.
We couldn't get seated until our entire party was there (usually doesn't happen), so we waited well over an hour, and at that point we finally got seated (the 4th person never made it). People's kids were playing in the candy (so that area may need to be better monitored), and a fight almost happened b/t staff and a large party over someone being charged for food they ACTUALLY ordered and ate. This place may be better to go during the day.
Excellent service by every team member! Extremely accommodating when 2 additional guests arrived unexpectedly. A new setup was prepared for us in record time, considering The Factory was packed with St. Patrick’s Day celebrants along with other party people and dinner patrons.
The pre-order of the King Kong Sundae arranged by Kelsey in Events, was the PERFECT way to end our wonderful Birthday celebration, ThankYou!
We had a great night at the Sugar Factory. :)
We are from Boston and are loving Chicago.
Food was better than average, and atmosphere was very fun and energetic.
Drinks were creative and unique. Kids loved them! (so did my wife)
BJ (our waiter) was fantastic and made sure we had a great time.
It was decent, good food, loud but able to converse and service was ok had some mishaps but had a typical restaurant experience
Ordered a princess package and they were out of tiaras. I ordered a blue shark drink and they were out of the dye for the blue drink, took the drink back and it took about 20 minutes longer to get another drink. I ordered sliders and cheese on the side didnt get any cheese. Ordered fries and fries were stale. Waiter was friendly but not checking if we needed anything else. For the price i wouldnt recommend. It is a fun place and the drinks are awesome but i would say for the price you pay and for the crowd they expect to have not having items replenished is not good especially when they are advertised. I would say false advertisement.
Great food and drinks. Service was amazing. We are already planning our next trip back.
We had a reservation for 2 people and still waited about 40 minutes to be seated. The food was ok, nothing to rave about and then they were out of the dessert we wanted. Drinks were too pricey, especially without alcohol.
Celebrated my son's 13th/Golden Birthday and he enjoyed the entire EXPERIENCE!!!! Amazing staff, fries were cold but the wait staff replaced them with no problem. Parking validation was a bit of a problem but the AMAZING MANAGER took everything without a hiccup! Great staff from the moment we entered the door, Ariana that gave us water until our order was taken was such a sweetheart and Basil (sp?) was just the BEST!!!!!!! We will definitely be returning and recommend to family and friends!
Yes if you don’t mind spending a million dollars on a drink
Very young crowd, more like a club with food, lol.
First visit and for my daughter’s 12th birthday! She loved it! Was a great experience!
Waitress was awesome food was excellent, place was clean
Hostess was rude unpleasant, and unprofessional. We didn’t have a server for 20 minutes and we had to flag down the bus boy to get our orders. The manager was super accommodating and friendly though which made things better.
Amazing experience! We just had dessert and the kids thought the milkshakes were the best ever!
First time visiting Chicago and was recommended
Horrible service, way overpriced food, not staffed well and was not even busy. Very disappointed.
Spent my daughter's 15th birthday here and she enjoyed every bit
Never have any problems... just plan to spend 1 1/2 to 2 hrs dining. Place is non-stop.
