I went to visit the Sugar Factory for my 21st birthday trip while in Miami! I have to say I really enjoyed my visit. I ordered the Watermelon Patch and it was everything I hoped it would be and more!
Great ambiance! Drinks are great, but very over-priced and filled with entirely too much ice😓
Once we actually got seated, we had a great time. Food and drinks were good and the dessert was the best part. However, we had a reservation for 7:30pm and didn’t get seated until 8:20pm! We kept checking in with the hostess and all she would say is that they had to wait for more tables to clear (we had 8 people in our party). They did nothing to accomodate us nor did they offer an apology or free appetizers for our wait time. Ridiculous. For this reason alone I would not recommend. Our server was great but we were already so upset that it didn’t really matter.
Great looking place. Average pricing, except if you order one of those bowl drinks. The menu had food residue. Looked like potatoe fries scraps. That was a no go for me. The food was average as well. Overall I do not think this restaurant lives up to its hype.
Absolutely loved the fish tacos and my drink was just as amazing as it looked. Our service was very speedy too!
The drink was great but the food was very over cooked and dry we couldn’t finish it.
Great drinks, bad service though.
The best Mother’s Day ever great food and fun drinks
Had a great time! Food was delicious and the drinks were awesome!
Service was slow/disappointing, but I don’t think that was due to our server. Overall sense was that the place is perhaps not very well managed. Therefore, our server seemed a little stressed and overworked, not like we anticipated for such a fun-seeming concept.
It took awhile for a second cup of coffee, but when he came with it, it was in a large to-go cup: AWESOME because a mom needs her coffee on mother’s day! (First cup was in a small ceramic one on saucer that literally looks like the coffee emoji ☕️ - cute, but too small for morning coffee imo.) I really appreciated him going the extra mile when he was clearly stressed out, again presumably to a poorly-run kitchen from what I could tell based on other clues around the restaurant.
I’m sure when it first opened, the concept was “fresh” and exciting based on the uber-glammy celebrity photo endorsements. However, at least for the Miami location, the sparkle seems to have worn off as reflected in the sad candy store offerings, dry “bacon” cheeseburger (with no bacon, but I didn’t want to bother the server about because he seemed to have enough frustration...), and generally worn looking environment.
That said, the INSANELY composed “Insane” milkshake they advertise did NOT disappoint. It came to the table looking just as crazy over-the-top as I had hoped and that’s just FUN on Mother’s Day!! And they gave all the moms a rose which was super nice. My kids each had crepes (one had creme brûlée and the other had Nutella) that were pretty darn delicious too. Expensive? Definitely. But I was prepared for that. Loud? Oh yes, but it’s South Beach and that’s part of the fun!
So, to get your South Beach SUGAR on, the people watching and sweet food did NOT disappoint. Very fun, although expensive. But I wouldn’t go there to eat anything else unfortunately - my dry burger (although ADORABLY served on a skewer IN my crazy milkshake) was a little sad and all the “real” food at surrounding tables seemed very “meh.”
Very nice place. Very highly recommend.
First time going for my birthday and it was amazing !!
The food was great but the service of the waiter could have been better attentive, don’t know if he was overwhelmed or just because is was a party of 2, I watch him and he was more attentive to larger table of people. I didn’t find that as a great customer experience since is was my first time as a guest, the experience was hah ok.
Way too expensive I knew I would be paying more for fancy drinks I was expecting that and that was okay because it was going to be worth the experience but $45 for a drink is absolutely ridiculous get some friends together and make your own fancy drinks if you’ve already been...
I order an app and that came out incorrectly. Then, our food took a very long time to come out. That finally came and wasn’t hot at all. Once I received my food then my app arrived, which was an unconvincing.
Just really wasn’t a great experience.
The restaurant could not locate our reservation and said they would not honor our reservation even after I showed them the email confirmation I received from open table. The hostess was extremely rude and told my party we were unwelcome and we should leave. We were their to celebrate my cousins birthday and sge really wanted to eat here for her birthday dinner so we sat ourselves on the patio and luckily were served by the outdoor staff. I have been to the sugar factory in DC and it is filled with much friendly staff who know how to provide good service. If it were not for my cousin's birthday and her desire to eat here I would have left. I definitely will not be returning and do not recommend this restaurant to others.
Great atmosphere. Staff made my daughter's bday visit very memorable.
I had a great time dining here with my family. The atmosphere was great for celebrating my sister’s college graduation!
Restaurant was very clean. Service was fast. The food was excellent. I had the rainbow sliders, taste better than they look.
We we’re celebrating two birthday’s, they definitely didn’t make it feel like a celebration. Hostess was almost falling asleep at stand, waiter was there to take order, drop food and collect check, that’s it! Very dark restaurant, couldn’t see my food to make sure there were no surprises. Would have love to order a drink but the prices, just couldn’t do it!
I recently went here on May 4th for a bachelorette dinner. Service was slow, the waitress forgot our food and drink orders. Asked several times to receive napkins and for our table to be wiped down and cleaned. Took 20 mins to get our table wiped down. Also, this place is way overpriced. Not worth it.
i Had the mojo to and it was amazing, I also ordered the chicken and waffles they were also amazing
Watered down drink get better drink in nyc location
I have been here before and both experiences are similar, we were seated promptly and were able to pick where we wanted to sit. It was pretty busy and it took a while for the waitress to take our order but our food came out quickly and hot! The best part was the dessert, we order a shareable banana split and it looked amazing and tasted amazing. Again it took a while to pay and get our change but outside of out waitress being busy we enjoyed it and would go back.
Our kids enjoyed their desserts and had fun. The $2 per item upcharge simply because it was Saturday was ridiculous. The bill includes a 20% gratuity which we were fine with even though the service was terribly slow. even though the restaurant was half empty. Lastly, the waiter was trying to hit us up for a tip on top of that claiming the 20% was a service charge. Really sleazy.
Very cute restaurant! Drinks are pricey and the food was moderate. I would only recommend going for dessert, not a meal.
Was TOTALLY over priced! $7.00 for tea was just he beginning...... Not worth it!
The service was great and the food was delicious. Very creative drinks to choose and there is a large selection of food also. Great for a special occasion or just spending time with friends or family.
I paid $40 for one of the big bowl drinks which was literally nothing but sugar, ice and candy lol.. did not taste an ounce of liquor. Food was ok, I had the burger with the mac & cheese. I say go just to experience it..
When we arrived, they didn’t check the reservations to check us in. The menu had a sticker on front that said everything was an additional $2, plus a 20% service charge on the bill. Ordered one of the goblets, a salad and the classic steak and our bill was $112.... unreasonable. I know it’s south beach, but would not recommend. Outside smelled like garbage, inside smelled like a middle school lunch room.
I loved it ! Food was amazing and drinks were fantastic
I took my husband here for his birthday/date night. The waiter kept disappearing, none of the drinks we wanted to order were available, and the rainbow sliders were still red on the inside. With $150 bill we were VERY dissatisfied.
Extremely expensive. Menu prices did not reflect the bill. Every item was $2 more. Service very, very slow. Got my drink after I had finished my meal. 2% resort fee and automatic 20% gratuity added. Will not return!
Terrible service, horrible attitudes. We had reservations and still waited an WHOLE HOUR to be seated. Kept getting the run around when we asked about how long it would take to be seated. Luckily the drinks were good, but very overpriced. Good for the experience but we will never be back.
This was the worst experience I ever had at a restaurant. Service was horrible. Ordered 3 milkshakes and 2 appetizers it took well over 45 minutes to bring out. We sat at the table with empty water 8 oz plastic water cups for 45 minutes. Waiter only came over twice to take order and bring check (40 minutes after food was brought) nothing in between. Will never visit this location in Miami again!!
Made my reservation several months in advance for a birthday dinner with my friends from out of town. We waited over 2 hours after our reservation. The hostess sat another group of 11 ahead of us when we were there first. The manager tried to accommodate us with a percentage off our meals, comped my drink and dessert but the damage was already done. It was one of my favorite places in Miami but I do not plan on going there again. Very disappointed.
Nice hangout. Very pricy and you don’t even get to keep the goblet
Drinks and service were great but music could have been better !
Desserts were great!
Dinner food was ok.
Service was not good, but we attributed that to the 20% gratuity automatically being added into the check. Nothing to work towards means you see your waitress 3 times during an hour and a half meal.
