Sugar Factory American Brasserie - Miami Ratings and Reviews
I could not be more disappointed. I was expecting our dinner at the sugar factory to be a fun experience, when in reality it was one of the worst dining experiences I have ever had. We were one of two tables in the entire dining room, the other being large group for a teenage birthday party. The music was so loud and they ended up turning the music up even louder, to the point where our ear drums were bringing. The food was mediocre and I would not recommend eating there to anyone
For the overpriced that the food there is this place should make a better effort, our fries were served cold and when I let the server know he took my fries dump it on hot oil and he brought me back stiff greasy stuff, it took like 45 mins to get my food, the staff is not very friendly, Noise level is very loud and only good thing I can think to give some credit to the place is the decoration.
This was my second time visiting The Sugar Factory and after my first visit I vowed not to revisit the restaurant. The 1st time it took us over an 1hr to receive just our appetizers after a lack of concern from the waitress a group of 6 of us decided to end our dinning experience. On Sunday Oct 8th out to celebrate my sons 15th birthday. I only came back because that's where he really wanted to go. Ten of my family members sat down to dine, my mother ordered a drink never received it and once our food arrived we never saw our waitress again until I brought it to her attention that she had not come and check on us. Her reply.."I have other customers". I will never ever visit or recommend anyone to visit The Sugar Factory!!!!
I came to the Sugar Factory to celebrate my 33rd birthday. Needless to say, I was appalled by the service received. Facility was not busy or crowded, however, my waiter kept forgetting about my table, bought at burned food, spilled my Goblet on the table in front of me. I felt I was over charged for what I received and to top it ALL off, we made reservations and explained what the reservation was for (a birthday celebration and asked for them to make it special). The day was not even acknowledged by ANY of the workers. Told them we had a reservation and they did not look or care, they just said "oh ok where would you like to sit". The experience was not at all what was expected. Had really really high hopes coming here just to be completely let down. Ruined the whole experience for me on my day. I thought I would bring my daughters to enjoy the experience but now I have a change of heart. Unless I am wowed over by the sugar factory ONE DAY, this will be the impression that was left on me from your establishment.
There were only a few tables dining inside the restaurant by the time we left. We were literally the only table when we got there and considering that we should have never spent 3hrs there. The food is ridiculously expensive and not even great. Three of 6 orders were wrong. One entree came out incorrect 3 times so we gave up. Look I get if they're busy, but only a handful of tables and how can you possibly mess up an order that many times. Manager was nice and gave us a discount on everything we mentioned to me. It's a one time go for the experience, but not up to my expectation based on all the hype.
My friend's food was burnt the waiter agreed to have the dish remade but told her he would not replace her sides and vegetables. She explained she wanted to eat her food together and if she saved her sides and vegetables until her new entree was done it would be cold. She politely requested that her food comes out together and he told her No, he wouldnt replace her sides and vegetables she had to hold on to it until her chicken was cooked. We were very turned off my the service. I beleive his name is Romano.
- good food
- HIGH Prices $$$
- TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE
First time at Sugar Factory for a date night. And although it was louder than I expected, it’s South Beach so it’s to be expected. Food prices are high. You’re really paying for the location. But nonetheless the food was delicious
The issue I had was the service. I had waffles and received my food very quickly. But my girlfriend, who order country fried chicken, had to wait 35 - 40 minutes from when I received my food to receive hers. And our waitress never truly acknowledged the issue. She walked past us at least 20 times without even looking at us. Never updated us on what the Issue in the kitchen was. Not until I approached her while she was waiting at another table did she acknowledge the problem and apologize. When my girlfriend, who was furious at this point, finally received her food, she addressed the waitress and expressed her unhappiness. And instead of aligning with us, she chose to argue with my girlfriend. Prompting us to request a manager intervene.
For a first time experience at the famed Sugar Factory, it was as bad as it could get. I’m probably never going to return.
So this was my second time here & nothing like my first! We made a reservation and were 8 minutes late due to hectic typical Miami traffic (we used Uber as well) and were told to wait in the lobby until most of our party got there. No big deal that’s fine. Our party was all there & we’re still told to wait. Once we were sat it had been raining & we were sat outside. I noticed the seats that are suppose to be white just looked run down & dirty. Not eye catching at all considering the price of things at this place! Needs an update for sure! There were huge puddles of water under our seats/table that wet all of our shoes/feet. But outside even with a reservation was what was available. Our server came and wasn’t very personable. He Took our order & served us but after that he was not easy to find. We didn’t have the correct amount of straws so half of our party was waiting to enjoy their overpriced drink! One of the girls ordered the appetizer sampler & the macaroni balls were either uncooked or old they, were cold as ice but no one bothered to complain since the lack of service (who would we complain to?!). Not to mention it says shareable size and the plate was so small for over $30 it was a joke! We had to hunt down our server after visibly being ready to get our checks with all empty glasses on the table & never once offered if we wanted water or anything else.
I was embarrassed for recommending this place for my best friends birthday. The only thing good was the music they played. With all being said this was probably my last time to that location at least !
With a tab over $100 myself and with a group of over 7 it wasn’t a cheap affair. I would expect better service after spending that amount for a drink or two!
Even though this place is well known for its enormous fancy beverages , we stuck to some fairly simple cocktails which were good. The menu is quite large and pricey so I was a little skeptical at first but, our club sandwich and burger were surprisingly good. The staff was attentive and professional. There's a n attached dessert/candy shop with yummy looking confections. Definitely a fun place for the young at heart and if you're a big dessert lover.
Went while I was visiting the South Beach Miami area. Very overpriced place but hey, it's South Beach. We both had club sandwiches, which were very good. Be aware that there is an AUTOMATIC 20% service charge to all food and beverages, rather you enjoyed your meal or got good service. That would be my only bad thing to say. The service was mediocre to say the least.
I have eaten at The Sugar Factory before and it was amazing. But the second time I went I was not able to eat. I purchased a Groupon for this restaurant to eat there on a Sunday. We get there and was told we could not use the voucher because it was a holiday but technically the Holiday was not until the next day. In the fine print of the Groupon it stated when we could use the voucher and that was the reason we went Sunday. It should have stated in the fine print on the voucher that we could not use it the weekend of the holiday.
Our reservation was at 10:15 and we weren't even able to sit until almost 11. We ordered a drink and it took 20 minutes to get that. Then it took another hour for them to get us our food. All we ordered was wings and a turkey sandwich. The waitress was not that attentive. As a matter of fact, she probably came to our table just 3 times the whole night. I had to flag down other waiters if i wanted something. We would have bought another drink, but didn't want to wait 30 minutes for it to get to us. The
atmosphere was cool and all but this place has some things to work on.
