Sugar Factory American Brasserie - Miami Ratings and Reviews
We went for my daughter's birthday - four girls and one adult. The restaurant was almost empty, but service was still very slow. We got hamburgers with fries, which were mediocre, and one drink the girls shared, and the total was $175 (the tax and the 20% included tip). The large drink was $40 with alcohol, or $36 without alcohol, which seems wrong - it was essentially soda with candy in it, and a little dry ice. I would have expected it to be less without the alcohol. The restaurant does not do anything special for birthdays, other than put a sparkler into whatever incredibly overpriced dessert you choose to order. We decided to get ice cream at the store on the way out instead. The menu is fun, but not worth the price. If I ever go back, we might just go for milkshakes as a treat, but certainly not for dinner.
The food was good but the overall service and experience was pretty poor. This was our first time there for my husbands birthday and I do understand that servers and waiters are very busy managing several tables at once but I only interacted with my waiter 3 times(for my drink order, for my entree order, and for my check). The wait time just to ask for some napkins was unreasonable and the atmosphere was very noisy to where I could barely hear what was being said across my own table.
This is a noisy party venue. Why else would someone pay $42 for cocktail? That's right. Their specialty drinks go for as high as $42. Be prepared for a lot of noise, long waits for food (between courses), and mediocre quality food items. (Given the high price-points, one would expect better.) While the service was fine on the day I went, it was not enough to make up for the so-so food and expensive price tag. On a positive note, their milk shakes are festive and unusual, but again, costly. $22 for a shake is a bit much. (And since tax and a 20% gratuity is automatically added. That's one expensive dessert!) Pass! For the money, you can dine at a finer establishment in Miami Beach (or anywhere else for that matter). This place is more about schtick.
To expensive to be honest over priced
The seafood was good but the drinks where
To expensive, I think $40 for a drink for the kids with that ice is cool but to expensive.
The cost for my was almost $400.00 that night for 4 people.
I will think twice before I have to go back again.
Well I would have give them 1 star if I had never been to sugar before. I have been to a couple of them though out the states and the service and quality outside of Miami was exceptional. I’m not sure what happen to the Miami Beach location. I have a reservation and they couldn’t accommodate the party size. All the food kept coming out cold. They kept forgetting items especially our goblets. Our waitress was the same lady who ran the gift shop so they have nooooo staff whatsoever. All the people dresses in black that are management just stand here and do nothing. Let’s just say the food and service was def not worth it. Even after the 50 percent off we got. If you go to any other sugar factory on the world you will love it. Just not this one. The Lincoln road location closed down I’m sure for their poor service but at least when I went it was wayyyyy better than here. Anddddd the worst part is that when u order the colorful burgers here they give u this bootleg rubber duck at the other locations they give u the cute one with the sugar factory logo.
This place is the most overpriced restaurant i have been to. I am a foodie and i don’t mind spending money on good quality food and experiences. They offer “60oz” drinks for $40 each. The drink is served in a large goblet but they fill it to the top with ice and the waiter ours the drink in at the table from. 20oz shaker. Fried chicken was dry and costs $24 for 3 very small pieces of chicken. Publix friend chicken is bigger and better. Stay clear of this place unless you feel like flushing money down the toilet. My bill for 4 people for lunch was $150. Never again!
The waiter was nice, that is all. Service took forever to arrive, from the drinks to the food and following up to check on us. The food was edible but defiantly not worth the cost or to brag about, It was NOT mouth watering delicious. I had high expectations for this restaurant, all the hype and pretty drinks. Looks can be disappointing. I won't be coming back nor recommending this restaurant. Very disappointing experience in all.
Went to have breakfast and was highly disappointed. Pancakes were thin and bitter and the waffles were a little bitter too. Tables and chairs were dirty and looked old and unkept, and the overall experience was not what good. Way too expensive and not worth it AT ALL. I don't mind paying more if the food is worth it but here, no way. ☹
We waited 40 minutes just for our drinks! We could go 20-30 minutes without seeing our waiter! We were there longer than we should have been. I’ve been to the Orlando location a few times before, but this is my first time at the Miami location. It was horrible! For one, they forgot to put sauce on my burger. After I told the waiter, he brought it to me on the side and I had to put it on myself. Then they forgot to put the snickers bar on my milkshake. I spent $55 here and I regret it so much. Like the food, but the waiter DID NOT deserve that automatic 20% on my bill. Hated this location!
This restaurant is so over-hyped. The kids had seen it and heard about it from social media. We were in the area for another event. We called the restaurant to make sure we could valet park and nobody EVER answered the phone. Turns out, there was a festival in the area, parking near the restaurant was non-existent. The restaurant staff were not knowledgeable about the menu and the service was terrible (but gratuity is already included). Pizza was disgustingly undercooked and burger was average at best. I would not go back.
Terrible slow service. It took 20 minutes for a waiter to greet us even though there was four other other customers inside. Ridiculously expensive drinks and the food it's just the same thing you would get at a diner. The only good thing is probably the candy bar
The food was great!
Service was terrible, I made a reservation online and when I arrived, the lady outside walked us to the door. She opened the door and even held it for us as we walked in. She didnt follow us in, didnt give us any direction, nothing. The gentleman behind the counter was playing on a tablet and didn't speak to us for a good 10-15 mins while we stood there.
I took my children here for a fun afternoon. The food was average the shakes looked much better then they tasted. The wairress did not speak English well and had s hard time understanding us. The check had much higher prices then the menu. When I pointed this out to a manager she didn’t act shocked it was almost as if they do this regularly to see if anyone picks up on it. When they corrected it they added a discount too which was nice considering the shakes where completely overpriced at 22 dollars. The food is overpriced since it isn’t very good. It was fun to go once for the pretty desserts but we wouldn’t go back.
Great Restaurant with excellent food. Be ready to pay for quality. Our family of 6 was very impressed. Total bill was $180 no alcohol & no dessert. Signature drink is $42 & dessert milkshake is over $20.
Average meal ticket will run about $300 for 4 people with drinks.
We will definitely go back as we want to try different meals, drinks & milshake.
You can go for a drink, a meal or simply dessert.
Enjoy... I know our family will be back !
Overpriced!! The $40 drinks have very little alcohol and cost too much. Don’t even get to keep glass which is plastic and it costs $25 if u want to buy it. Disappointed. Very noisy and difficult to have a conversation with people u r with. Might be OK for coffee and snack. Would not recommend for a full meal because of the overpriced menu.
