The restaurant is closed. Building seized by landlord. Open Table should remove from reservation list.
Not bad food but quite expensive for Tapas. Arrived and the seats they were giving us was by the front entrance which was cold and they closed after we requested. Ordered several tapas. One good point was host explained we had a lot of food. One dish we ordered 2 orders but only one came and we will billed twice. However once we noted it was taken off. Nice neighborhood place especially if you are on an expense account
Both menu items that my wife and I wanted were out. We had reservations at 1500, when they opened. Both sangrias were heavy on Southern Comfort and light on anything else. Staff was pleasant enough.
Huge airy space is nice and clean cut with an island vibe. Service by Gabriel was outstanding. Food was good but needs work. Garlic shrimp was tasty and flavorful but very small, the smallest I ever had. Maduros were a bit dry. Grilled octopus was chewy and not worth it. Coconut drink was heavy and tasted more like a coquito.
Really nice tapas and drinks! Bartenders and waiters were really nice and friendly, they really care about your experience. I came here on my last night in New York and caught up with an old friend, we had a really great time here. I definitely recommend!
They tried hard, but the service was terrible. As were the drinks. Finally had to resort to bottled beer--was the only drink they couldn't mess up. Sangria was like cough syrup. Awful. Food was fine, nothing I'd go out of my way for. Thank goodness for the company of my good friend; otherwise, the evening would have been a bust. But again let me say, our waiter and waitress tried hard......
Unfortunately, I was disappointed to say the least. The food itself was okay. The only chicken item on the menu was out that night. I would say this is a better spot just for drinks and apps.
We had an awesome time! Definitely recommend for a night out whether it's with friends or a date! Nice ambience
Really great new place. Tapas was excellent. Sangria was the best I have had for a long time. Definitely worth a visit. Wait staff very accommodating-they ran out to get us coffee because their machine broke - a hidden new gem
First, we were very happy that they were open on New Year's Day and give them big thanks for that. The service was very friendly and responsive. I had a delicious pina colada sangria. The tapas were very tasty but not what I would call traditional Spanish or Mediterranean style tapas. They featured more Caribbean / Latin American flavors and dishes and the lunch time selection of tapas was more limited than the dinner menu. The restaurant and restrooms were very tidy.
First the positives: Food, sangria, service, and ambiance all excellent.
Then the negatives: Some tapas portions too small - 5 tiny albondigas, 4 tiny croquettas.
Desserts need work - flan brulee watery, fried ice cream too much dough.
And curiously: Background music was a great selection of Salsa and Latin Cha-Cha but nothing
from the flamenco genre. Add Vincente Amigo for dinner music!
All told, this new restaurant is definitely worth a try!
My mom and I do not eat shellfish or pork, so we had chosen this restaurant for its many chicken options. Unfortunately, OpenTable mistakenly had the wrong menu. However, this did not stop us from eating a wonderful meal. When we explained our problems to our waitress, the manager, Eddy, immediately came over and offered for the kitchen to make us anything we desired. He also made suggestions for several dishes on the menu that met our needs. We requested one dish from the menu be made with chicken instead of shrimp, and they were happy to accommodate our request. The menu items that Eddy suggested were great, especially the open faced fried plantain pepper steak with shredded mozzarella. Not to mention, his dessert suggestion of fried ice cream was exceedingly tasty and no bite was left on the plate. Overall we had a delicious meal, wonderful service, and sangria on the house. Thank-you Sugar and Spice for a wonderful pre-theatre meal!
This restaurant is amazing! The food is so good-amazing in every way! Staff was so helpful and friendly! Everyone should go! Could not recommend highly enough!
Great food, fantastic host who seems to be the manager, good bartender, great service. Recommend the pork belly sliders , crab cake, meatballs, and the sautéed spinach was great as well.
Unfortunately this wasn't a good first impression with this brand new restaurant. When I arrived, I was told that a large party was coming in and the ONLY table that I could be seated at was the very last table in the back next to a party of 4. The entire restaurant, bar, front lounge were completely empty at this point. I decided not to dine there after trying to "negotiate" a table or even two seats at the bar with the hostess.
It's unfortunate because I try to support new restaurants in the neighborhood. Perhaps they should have closed the restaurant for the private party if was going to take up that much space in the restaurant.
We came on their second day of being open. Sat and ate at the bar. While the menu only had the Tapas available (they're still opening), what we ate was delicious! The drinks were well made, and the bar is very elegant. The staff was incredibly friendly. I will definitely return to try their full menu.
