Delicious! Can’t wait to go back and try again. Had the French toast, shrimp and grits and fried chicken and waffles. Also recommend the deviled eggs and the fried green tomatoes.

Incredible experience. This restaurant is breathtakingly beautiful. The ambiance is 10/10. My favorite meal was the crispy chicken. The sauce was the perfect mix of sweet and spicy. I would come back just for this entree.

Did this for winter restaurant week. Got to try so many things on the menu. Very good food and great value for what you're getting compared to other DC restaurants. The desserts were a bit disappointing but the appetizers and mains were excellent.

Our experience was amazing from start to finish! We received a warm welcome when we first arrived and were seated promptly by the hostess . Our server MJ came over once we were seated and greeted us with a warm smile and gave us drink recommendations. The food was absolutely filling and came in large portions , with the help of MJ we chose great food options. We were able to meet with JoJo the manager who was very accommodating when we had a little spill . Overall we had a great experience and will be making sure to stop by again on our next visit to DC!

Honestly, I never leave reviews but I have to say that this was one of the best restaurant meals I’ve had in DC in a long time. The plates were thoughtfully composed. Smoked wings were large and not overloaded with sauce. The sweetness of the Chicken and waffles was paired with pickled okra. Deserts were amazing. Definitely going back!

Went to dinner yesterday. Our reservation was at 5pm, however we arrived 30 min early. We were seated 10 min after arriving. There was barely anyone in the restaurant. We sat at our table for a full 15-20 min waiting for someone to come to our table. Lots of servers walking past looking at us, however none stopped over. Finally our server Treymayne (sp) walked over and said, "I was helping another server figure something out on the computer." Our waiter was watching us sit at our table the entire time and never came over to offer a drink or let us know he would be with us. He continued to disappear even after taking our drink order after we told him we were ready to order. We had plenty of time to go over the menu. After receiving our salads and dinner from other waiters, our waiter never stopped over to ask how our meals were or if we needed anything. Did not offer re-fills or any other drink.. literally kept walking past our table. The fried green tomato salad was ok. My filet mignon was bland and salty and the presentation was dull. This clearly isn't a steakhouse. The waiter initially wined when I requested medium well "can I have it butterflied, it will be bloody if I don't." No options provided. Terrible service, overly salty steak and sausage gravy. The garlic mashed potatoes had that day-old potato taste, not freshly boiled and mashed potatoes and I tasted no garlic. Don't waste your time or money.

This was my first time here and the food was great! We did the $28 per person family style brunch. Everything was really good, especially the fried green tomatoes. The drinks were great as well, everyone enjoyed theirs. I will definitely be back!

Waiter was not engaging or hospitable, didn’t tend to our table well, left some of us without place settings, brought appetizers and no plates, mixed up our dishes, and really just provided lacking service. The food was very disappointing! Deviled eggs and punch cocktails were good, but beyond this of the five in our party no one really enjoyed their meal. We had skirt steak, two of us had shrimp and grits, one had filet, and one had the rice bowl. Very disappointing experience.

I checked in for my reservation and was delayed being seated as a staff member decided to have me wait to accept a call instead. The call took several minutes in which time the staff member forgot about me. No other attendant acknowledged me standing there waiting. Once seated our server, Natasha, was great! Attentive and informative. Appreciated her recommendations. Food was well prepared and flavorful. I enjoyed the petite fillet and garlic green beans. My guest enjoyed the ribs, creamy slaw, and mac n cheese. We declined dessert.

The food was cooked well. The drinks were superb. The ambience was great. The seating is a bit congested, depending on where you are seated. The main course took an hour to arrive and one appetizer never arrived to the table. Overall, it was a good experience.

Long story short... we got text notification that our table was ready at 3:03. Arrived at 3:05. We were not seated (despite seeing our ready table and not busy restaurant) for over 20 min. Once seated we waited again for over 15 min before a server arrived. We finally got drinks at 3:49. Food was good... but the very terrible service at the start of our meal really made it hard to enjoy the rest of the evening. I have dined here before and this was a HUGE disappointment.

Service was awful. Took over an hour to get our appetizers, which arrived at the table after our entree. The manager was apologetic and removed the late items from our bill, but the wait staff overall left much to be desired. Never asked how our food tasted and never asked us if we’d like our drinks refilled. I love the food and ambiance at Succotash, but the service leaves a ton to be desired and I will have trouble justifying a return if serious improvements aren’t made. I’ve recommend Succotash to people in the past but am questioning doing so in the future.
