The best food we have ever had. Chef Jeremy is incredibly talented. Put this on your bucket list.
The Stubborn Seed s a small restaurant with a nice vibe. The hostess was pleasant and welcoming. The bar is inviting with a unique cocktail menu. I would recommend trying 1 or 2. The food was just good or average with a high price point and small portions. Our meal was rushed and while we were enjoying our drinks the server dropped off our check. My party was in and out in an hour which included drinks, appetizers, and an entree.
Every dish was an explosion of flavors. Ambiance was spot on. Meeting Jeremy was an extra special treat. Overall a memorable evening.
The food was 10/10. We ordered 1 of everything on the menu and each dish was better than the next. We are a group of 4 foodies from NYC and this meal truly lived up to the NY standard.
Also, all of the staff were great. Friendly, helpful, honest and super passionate.
Super creative and delicious food with great service. We will be back.
Absolutely a great experience and fantastic food! Must go!!
Our waiter was amazing. And the food was delicious
Food was fine but hard to enjoy when it is all thrown at you in the first 5 minutes you sit down. Service was snotty and disinterested. Asked for a table outside and said they were all reserved, but this was clearly not true bc no one sat at any of them. Just say you aren’t seating outside, don’t make things up.
Outstanding and inventive food. Certainly one of the best restaurants in South Florida.
The team at Stubborn Seed was delightful, attending to our group's questions with great service and timing throughout the tasting menu. I would HIGHLY recommend this for other diners seeking an artisan meal with thoughtful pairings.
We had the tasting menu and loved the food! The tuna tar tar and oysters were my favorite.
Great time, great food, great service!
We did the chef's tasting menu, and it was wonderful! Each course was great, each getting better. Our server was very attentive. We had a great experience.
The food was wonderful, our sever was excellent. Our main complaint is the noise level and hard rock music which seems inappropriate for a foodie dining experience .
We got the fixed price menu and the food was fabulous. Sat outside which was nice. Our waiter, So, was great. I recommend this place!
Chefs tasting menu was excellent. Highly recommend, especially with the wine pairings! Only complaint is that the tables were very close together.
Thanks so much!
I have had the pleasure of eating Jeremy Fords food for years in south florida and he and his team never miss the mark
I was happy to share this experience with my friends who had never dined there before.
Dinner was fantastic and coming from new York felt very reasonably priced. 100$ a person with wine for food that was memorable is truly a great experience.
We sat 40 mins late, but I understand it’s tough to turn a table sometimes. After we sat, no one was apologetic and it took another 25 minutes to get our drinks. After another 30 minutes without food, we decided to cut our losses and get the check for what we consumed. The staff was rude and dismissive at our decision. For all the wonderful restaurants in Miami, I feel it’s a safe bet to dine elsewhere.
Everything was delicious and the staff was superb! Enjoyed it through & through!
We did the tasting menu and although the food was generally speaking great, there were a few dishes that lacked that magic that makes you come back again and again.
1. The oysters: these tasted like an onion lemonade. The ice, the onion and the lemon made it very difficult for the oyster itself to shine.
2. Tuna tartare: It was just okay. The fish was cleaned and cut properly, it was very fresh, but the dish lacked that flavor that makes you pick up the fork and wish for more.
3. Gnudi: This dish was really tasty. The ricotta, the mushrooms and the pine nuts they all came shining every single bite.
4. Cacio e pepe bread: This cheese puff was very delicious, and the home made pickles were balanced in sweet and sour, but it’s just a cheese puff in my opinion.
5. The red snapper: was delicious, perfectly cooked, although I wish the skin was crispier. The broth was a bit strong on its own, but overall it paired well with the cauliflower and the fish.
6. Wagyu from Australia: I was expecting more marbling, hence more fat, therefore, I was expecting to chew this piece of meat a bit less that filet mignon. The meat was cooked perfectly, but there was nothing truly special about this wagyu or the dish itself.
7. Dessert: Desert was okay. The strawberry and olive oil cake dessert was fine, the donut filled with chocolate and hazelnut was good, but nothing I haven’t tasted in a Ferrero Rocher chocolate before.
The stars from the tasting menu were definitely the gnudi
and the red snapper. However, I was expecting to be wowed and I was not. The oyster were a really bad start, maybe the chef should use a different palate cleanser or balance this dish a bit more.
Really nice evening - great food/service and ambiance
Portions are large and very filling
We all agreed it was the best meal we had during our week long vacation, and we only ate at top rated restaurants. Our service was exceptional from start to finish. A truly wonderful evening.
Too noise, slow and lousy service, but very good food
It’s the best meal you’ll ever have. Must go spot!
Wonderful food. We enjoyed the tasting menu and it was a delight from start to finish. Some of the most memorable bites were the oyster, the pickle garnish, the ricotta and the local mushrooms. If it had not been taboo I would have licked the plate to get every drop of sauce from the red snapper dish. The service was professional and friendly. We had a fantastic experience.
In 1 word - WOW!
Tried the tasting menu, each and every plate was so tasteful, balanced and mind blowing.
Not worth any penny. Spent nearly $ 500 for 2 people. American continental cuisine- nothing special . We did a chef tasting menu. Nothing was outstanding or wowed us considering any Michelin star restaurants within the same price range. Service was terrible, I was serving wine to ourselves all night long and kept asking to replenish water a few times. It was a Monday night , Presidents' Day. Also noted that it was birthday celebration via open table not sure if it was considered or just missed since dessert came without any bday identification. The only highlight that they had my favorite wine from Napa valley.
Food was great overall! Service was pretty slow and inattentive.
worst restaurant. Waited 1.5 hours for table. Food took 30 mins between course. Food was not even good.
Absolutely brutal experience at Stubborn Seed. We were seated an hour late for our 8:30 reservation for a tasting menu reservation. Multiple parties seated at the same time or after us were served (and completed dining) ahead of us. We had only 4 of 7 courses by hour 3. When we asked about our 5th course, our waiter was hostile. The manager tried to unsuccessfully smoothe it over. We left paying $200pp (after a discount!) for an incomplete meal while enduring a rude wait staff. The food was great, and we wanted to love the experience for an important birthday dinner, but Stubborn Seed ended up being a place we’ll warn others away from as long as we continue to come to South Beach. Too many other good restaurants nearby to waste time and money here. Beware.
Valentine’s Day Dinner, food was good. 7 course tasting, done in roughly 3-3.5 hours. Service was not what I thought it would be from one of the most noteworthy restaurants in Miami. Staff was polite and nice, but it wasn’t above and beyond for the price.
I came here with a reservation at 10:30PM . My fiance and I arrived early to a very crowded and noisy restaurant. We waited to be attended and got sat outside where it was much quieter. We were attended by a waitress who brought us some water and afterwards seemed to have disappeared. Our order wasn't taken and we waited 30 minutes until we decided to get up and leave. I very much don't recommend this place on service alone.
The menu was a bit shorter than I expected, but everything we ordered was incredibly tasty.
I think the service was fantastic once we sat down and I bet it was a bit messy because of the valentine's day. Our server was outstanding, I couldn't be happier with his service.
TERRIBLE SERVICE, the food is outstanding but honestly not so great to make us bear that terrible service. DO NOT GOT THERE if you are a large party!
We made a reservation for 7ppl at 8pm and all arrived by 8:50pm and were not seated until 10:40pm because they only had 1 table to fit 7 people and they refused to tell that table they need to turn the table over.
In addition manager was rude when I asked him if he would at least offer a round of drinks at the bar and during our wait managers were both yelling and screaming at a customer, kicked him off and locked the door. Whatever that guy did I never seem people so angry.
That without mentioning the fact that when we arrived it took 15 min for the hostess to show up at the door.
My wife and I came excited for a great meal. We arrived at our reservation time and had to wait an extra 30 minutes. Once we were seated we tried to do the tasting menu but it was over two hours to get through the first 4 courses. Finally we decided we were done and didn’t want to wait anymore for further service and the manger was very rude and condescending. We won’t be back .
We showed up about 15 minutes late due to traffic, yet I had called and explained during this time what was transpiring, and they had given away our table so we were seated at the bar. Bartenders were super friendly, helpful and knowledgeable of both food and drink menus. Food was unique and delicious.
Once this restaurant is "discovered" you will never be able to get a reservation. My wife & I travel a lot and experience many different restaurants. This will go down as one of the best dining experiences ever. The uniqueness of the dishes and the flavors that are created are incredible. Its just a couple blocks off the beaten path, but well worth the visit. Highly recommend this!!
super expensive for very little food. tasty, but not worth the price.
It was everything and beyond well done!!
One of the best meals I have ever had. Do not miss this if you are in Miami!!!
