Tried stubborn seed for our anniversary dinner. Opted for 8 course tasting menu (wanted to try Chef Jeremys surprise dishes) with wine pairings. Everything was delicious. Carrot soup with accompaniments and celery heart stand out as extra special. Too much food for me but my portions easily finished by my husband. Wine pairing was excellent. Dessert delectable! Will be back.
Ordered 5 Course Chef Surprise menu. Very delicious dishes with creative flavor profiles. Each course was beautifully plated and carefully described by the wait staff. Chef Ford came out from the kitchen to meet and spend time talking to us. He was very warm and gracious, even offering recommendations on restaurants for the remainder of our trip. Truly a neighborhood gem!
We were at Stubborn Seed a year ago and looked forward to returning on our visit to Miami this year, as it had been an outstanding experience. Our disappointment started when we we were seated next to the kitchen door and a service station. When we asked if we could move, we were told by a waiter with major attitude that we could sit at a high top near the front door or stay where we were. We stayed, only to have a couple seated next to us at a better table for four. We were then told that our two main dishes--fish and beef--would not arrive at the same time. While eating dessert, this same waiter brought us our check before we asked for it. The prices are very high for this type of careless, inconsiderate, rude service. And while the food is very good, the overall experience was just awful. There are much better choices in Miami.

We had the 8 course tasting menu. Food overall tasted excellent with some stand out dishes, particularly the raw protein and vegetable forward preparations. Some of the portions were really too large for a tasting menu so it seemed like they were just pulled from the a la carte menu rather than being especially designed for a tasting. There were some service issues with too long a wait between courses in some cases (almost 40 minutes in one case). Attention to detail of the pacing is imperative for a successful tasting menu, not too short and not too long. Can be just a few minutes for a few bite course but shouldn’t go much beyond 20-25 minutes even for larger courses. Ambiance is quite casual and it got very loud at times though it was always possible to hold a conversation.
The food was inventive, beautifully presented, exceptionally tasty, and overall outstanding! We also had top-notch service, mostly provided by Steve. The table was nicely dressed (small spring of baby’s breath on the napkins was a sweet touch). It definitely was a memorable meal and our group of six tried most everything on the menu that evening (rivaled our experiences at Girl and the Goat in Chicago and Nonesuch in Oklahoma City). Our particular favorites included the chicken liver butter and the tuna dish. I would absolutely recommend this restaurant to foodies and want to return.

We had brunch here--the food was delicious and creative. Stubborn Seed specializes in unique flavor combinations and healthy options. We had the roasted mushrooms (with poached eggs) and the cauliflower dish which we customized for scrambled eggs instead of poached eggs. Both were very good--the scrambled eggs were outstanding and the toasted cauliflower was beautifully spiced and roasted. Mimosas are superb and prepared with fresh OJ. Blood orange donut was our "dessert" and quite good if a bit messy.
Atmosphere is hip and the location south of 5th in South Beach is in a fun neighborhood to explore. Definitely worth the visit but be sure to discuss your order with the server.

We were pleasantly surprised at the amazing presentation, quality, taste and creativity in the food. This restaurant is probably the best of Miami Beach if not South Florida. We had a 6 pm reservation and finished at 9:30. Never rushed or pushed out. We had the 8-course tasting menu and the restaurant accommodated dietary restrictions. This was a fantastic experience and we would definitely return!
The service and food were great! They sat us outside, not so nice but the the whole experience was pretty good. The parking was a mess, so take Uber! The place was packed! Thanks!
The food and service at Stubborn Seed were outstanding as always. And my cocktail? EXCEPTIONAL. However, we were a little surprised that we had to sacrifice our reserved table for two women who sat drinking the bottoms of their glasses for *an hour and a half* after they had paid their check. We felt that management could have asked them to rightfully give up their table and take their conversation to the bar. Thankfully after waiting thirty minutes past our reservation time, we were offered an alternate table. Overall an excellent experience with delicious food!

Wonderful experience! Our waiter, Parker, was super attentive and accommodating. He even brought out a new dish when someone in our party did not like one of the courses in the tasting review. Very thoughtful!

Had the 8 course testing menu. The food was excellent - there were a lot of combinations that I didn't think I would like but I really enjoyed (eg, celery root and flash fried maitake mushrooms). Each dish had an exceptional textural element that really elevated the dish. They also had the best dessert I have ever eaten - ever. The service was very kind but was a little sloppy at times. The server seemed to had made a mix up between the 5 and 8 course tasting menu and had given us a different wine pairing and the food order had been mixed up a little. We also had a bit of a delay between the courses (which were coming out quick) and the service for wine pours (which was coming out slow). The server was very kind though and he apologized for the errors - and we will surely return again.
Epic. I’ve never really spent this much on a meal so I was skeptical. But every dish was incredible and so was the service. Really, really incredible. Can’t wait to come back!

We had the 5 course tasting menu with wine pairings. Without a doubt, one of the best dinners ever. The dishes here are all superbly designed, excellently crafted, and amazingly delicious. I' m not a fan of the atmosphere - way too noisy. Almost impossible to carry on a normal conversation. But the food and service makes it all worth the many $$$ we spent here. Highly recommended.
All in all a disappointment. I am really sorry to say that but there were several points that just didn’t match.
First of, there was a rule that if one person chooses the 8 course menu the whole party has to order the same thing.
Totally new to me but maybe common in the us as I don’t live here.
The Food is Not Bad at all but definitely totally overpriced.
You pay 160$ for eight courses of which two were basically salads and three desserts. As the service was talking about Family Style and shareable and what not i actually was thrilled to see what they got but most of the courses were not even comfortably shareable.
I am really sorry but that experience was not what Iowa’s hoping for.
I can’t get over the portion sizes served for the prices with the topper being the stone crab claw.
We had the best time. Both kitchen and service were excellent. Will be back again very soon.

Food was excellent. We ate outside because weather was nice and music was louder than we wanted inside. Food was perfect and delicious. One of the best steaks we’ve ever had... Will def be going again
