What a disappointment. First, the menu is very small. I have allergies and when I ordered bread to start I was told I’m allergic to the chickpea spread it comes with, so I asked if I can have olive oil on the side and was told “No”. I then ordered the oysters and was told I was allergic to the “champagne vinaigrette” the oysters come with so I asked for just plain vinegar and was told “no - we can’t make up recipes”. I said I don’t want to eat oysters plain and I’m just asking for something in the side and was told again, no. The food was only OK and for 3 people we spent over $600 including tip. We spent 2 hours in the venue and right after paying the bill my group was just finishing a chat and waiting for our Uber. The manager of the place, I forgot his name, then comes up to our table and asked if we mind leaving because they have another group that needs to be sat. Are you kidding me?? I have NEVER EVER been asked to leave a restaurant, and it really ruined our experience. We told him we are about to leave but even the few minutes we had left waiting for our Uber was extremely uncomfortable. All in all, not worth the experience and I would NOT recommend this venue. I’ve been dining in Miami for 12 years and with an attitude like that, you won’t survive. I’ll take my $600 to Komodo, Zuma, Nobu and the list keeps going rather than revisiting this venue again. At least there they know how to make you feel welcomed and accommodated.

This is my second time at Stubborn Seed, the first time was just a few days after they first opened and we had their amazing tasting menu that was out of this world! The second time was for Miami Spice and again, the food and service were phenomenal! A huge thank you to our server Matthew who was also our server from the 1st time we dined here. He remembered who we were even though it has been almost a year! I definitely recommend this gem of a restaurant!!!

Came for Miami Spice. The menu was perfect! The cauliflower and eggs was DELICIOUS. The desserts were very messy, but worth it! They are still new and working out the kinks. I waited longer than I’d expected to be seated and served, but if you have good company then it’s all good!

Came here for the Miami Spice brunch menu — I was underwhelmed. (I want to say “maybe dinner is better because it’s more expensive” but that’s not a good thing if it’s the case.) For the amount of hype the restaurant is getting both Spice-related and not, I was expecting to be blown away. The food wasn’t bad, but everything just tasted...normal. The cauliflower dish tasted like cauliflower with eggs and chimichurri. The ricotta and jam tasted like ricotta and jam. The donut was really good. Service was very good, too, and the atmosphere is nice, modern/industrial farmhouse by the sea? Anyway — wasn’t bad, but not the fantastic experience I was expecting. I wouldn’t go back for the price.

Hay dos opciones: el menú degustación del chef (que puede acompañarse con maridaje) o platos a la carta.
Personalmente elegí tres platos del menú root/raw y dos del listado de carnes y pescados, estos más contundentes.
Todo excelente. Y como final, una pavlova descontrscturada, uno de los mejores postres que como en mi vida.
Muy recomendable.

Fabulous evening from the start to finish! The service was excellent, food was delicious, and loved the atmosphere. We did the chef’s tasting menu with wine pairing and so glad we did! This was a lovely way to experience the different flavors.

“Stubborn seeds grow into grapes that make great wine.”

My friend, Graeme Richard Marshall recommended this restaurant for a special occasion for a foodie. We made reservations for a 930 table to celebrate friendship and a 50th Birthday.

Chef Jeremy Ford ‘s new restaurant is located at 101 Washington Ave., on Miami Beach and is called Stubborn Seed housed is an art deco corner property. One third of the space is the dining room which looks through a large picture window into the kitchen (also a third) and the bar making up the final third of the space .

For me, a big part of the experience is to sit in the dining room and be able to see the team in the kitchen hard at work. When making a reservation, request a table in the main dining room where you can see the kitchen.

We opted for the tasting menu and the parade of food began. Each dish was perfectly described by our knowledgeable server, Justin. Each dish was beautifully presented, delicate and distinct flavor profile which escalated in enjoyment with each new course.

Certainly a memorable dining experience with noteworthy culinary offerings at the South Beach treasure.

We went for Miami Spice and, this was a VIP crowd (President/CEO's of important area organizations and, the founder of Miami Spice). We asked the waiter to announce us and, just wanted to say hi...we were shunned. The food was a bit underwhelming but, still flavorful. The halibut was wonderful but, the lemon mix was overwhelming and made each of us choke. Have had much better deserts at other restaurants. We are all fans of Jeremy's and, believe his regular menu is likely better than the spice offering.

This was my first time at the restaurant and was lucky to be during Miami Spice. We ordered from from the regulat and the Miami Spice menu and the food qas excelent, as well as the presentation. I normally don’t eat chicken when dinning out but I would definitely return for the organic chicken. The lamb was cooked to perfection, and the cookies totally worth the calories

The food was fabulous - creative combinations that surprised us with every course. The celery root was a standout; the snickerdoodles and whisky cake were just the right size and the perfect finish to a delicious meal. Unfortunately, the restaurant itself is so, so loud that it is impossible to have a conversation. While slightly more bearable in the bar area, it exceeded acceptable levels nearly all night. Further, our server had such an attitude- from the moment he greeted us, it was clear that his job was a drag and we were going to be a burden. It was a shame that he represented this establishment as he detracted considerably from the overall dining experience.

One of the best meals I’ve had with my family in Miami Beach. Did the Miami Spice menu which featured some of their best menu items such as the celery root and organic chicken. The whiskey cake and snickerdoodles are a must. Great service & attention to detail. Awesome to see chef Jeremy working the open kitchen.

Absolutely delicious creative cuisine fit for foodies. Everything from the baby’s breath wrapped napkins to the bread and chickpea spread to the food and dessert is unique and artistic. This was my second visit and it happened to be during Miami Spice, which is the menu I ordered from. I had the celery root appetizer and the organic chicken which were both exquisite. The whiskey cake was to die for. The service was attentive and friendly for both my visits. It is fairly expensive but it’s well worth a try, in my opinion. Miami Spice is a good time to check it out as our check was $100 less than our first visit.

Food was ok, but not spectacular, I believe it’s more hype than substance. Reservation was at 7:30pm and we ended up leaving at 10:30pm, because after the last appetizer the first entree arrived 50 minutes later. Not acceptable for a place of this supposed ‘caliber’. Two appetizers and two entrees don’t take 3 hours to dine. We got a free glass of wine and cookie...yippie....
For the price I would’ve gone someplace else, like KYU, which has tastier food and more reasonable prices. Cancelled a brunch reservation, won’t be going back.
Hugely disappointing.

Went there to try to chefs tasting. However they don't offer it after 10pm. Then they were all out of chicken as well so that knocked another 2 items off their already small menu. So basically before I even had the chance to look at the menu 20 percent of it was already unavailable. So I went on with the night. The food we ordered was ok. The chicken liver was great. But to add to an already annoying evening our server was flakey and we sat with empty glasses for almost 20 mins after finishing dessert just waiting for him to come by just so we could ask for our bill. It was a very disappointing evening. I live on the beach and was excited to try Stubborn Seed. I won't be going back.

My wife and I went for the Miami Spice menu, which was excellent. The appetizers were delicious and original, and the mains were of modest size, but we savored every morsel. But the true star -- as you've surely seen online -- is the snickerdoodle cookie. We wanted about a dozen more -- each.
The server made it clear that the real way to enjoy the chef's work -- and that of the talented pastry -- is to do the entire tasting menu, but alas we were short on time and funds. But based on our Miami Spice experience, we'd be happy to go back for a special occasion and eat everything they have to offer.

Everything we had was spectacular. The halibut alone is worthy of a Michilen Star. It amazed me that the halibut was the star of the night after an absolutely perfect lobster dish. We’re from Las Vegas (and we have great food there), and I wish we had this restaurant/chef back home. Perfect dinner.

We have eaten at many fine restaurants (Alinea, Nobu, etc) throughout the United States and internationally, and this was one of the finest meals we have had in years. Every dish was beautifully presented, unique, creative, delicious, and prepared to perfection. The chef and pastry chef are simply brilliant. My only regret is that it will be impossible to get a reservation next season!

I have to say that the food and service were exceptional. Subtle flavors combined with the skill of alchemy made the food incredible. The wine list provided perfect accompaniment for the dishes. The service was helpful, professional and courteous.
My only complaint was the music. We’re dined at 630 and the music (and the volume) was more appropriate for a club at 11. Even with that distraction I would go back.

The food was exquiste - delicious and very pretty and we felt a little pricey for the portion sizes. The choice of music not only did not compliment the food but for our group it detracted from it and from the overall experience. And the volume was unnecessarily loud. The service was nice - we were greeted warmly.
