The food was incredible; each dish better than the last!
Service was awesome; we had Stephen and he made a wonderful dining experience even more special!
Servings are small and prices are high, so be ready to spend $500 for a table for 4. Other than that, the food is amazing and the service is great.
Food came before wine which is very strange for an up-scale place. Also the level of noise is over the top - really distracting and annoying.
Food itself was superb, great attention to products used and meticulous presentation. If only surrounding people did not have to be so loud...
Everything was amazing. Had the tasting menu. Strongly recommended.
Food was excellent - unfortunately it almost never made it out. Our chef’s tasting menu dining experience was abruptly cut short for about 45-60 minutes. No dishes were coming out, a few apologies here and there and yet still there were mistakes. Two dishes came out during one course in lieu of four; more apologies were made and a round of drinks on the house for the oversight. Towards the end of service, the manager abruptly walks out, not to be seen again.
It was a regrettable experience. The food was exquisitely presented and delectable. It’s truly unfortunate however that the service does not match the caliber of the cuisine, particularly at that price point.
Flavors and presentation are outstanding. We ordered a la carte and shared the plates. The foie gras, wahoo, and house spaghetti are a must, as are the snickerdoodle cookies!
Food is so unique and delicious! Waiters were all so friendly and knowledgeable!
Wife and I were down in South Beach for our anniversary. We had looked at Stubborn Seed before coming down as an option for dinner. The food seemed eclectic and pricey but the reviews were great so we decided to check it out. So glad that we did.
Just before we arrived, my wife had found a review mentioning the Chef’s Tasting Menu but couldn’t find any additional information on it. We decided we needed to know more.
The restaurant is very unassuming as you walk in: a small bar, a few high tops up front and more tables in the back. Seating for 30 maybe? Not very big. We were greeted by the bartender and told someone would be right with us. Host came over, looked up our reservation and sat us all in very short order.
The bartender came over and told us he was going to be our server for the evening, not sure if they were short staffed or if that was normal for them, but it didn’t matter, he was fantastic and attentive. (I feel bad for not remembering his name as I write this review). We said we were interested in the chefs tasting menu with wine pairings and he let us know it would be 8 courses served over a 2 hour period and that we had made it just in time. (Our reservation was for 8:45. I imagine they stop serving the chefs menu after 9 as they close at 11.)
What followed was probably one of the best meals I’ve ever had. Just go, get the tasting menu with a pairing, you couldn’t possibly be disappointed.
The service was great; so friendly and helpful with suggestions.
The space is decorated really thoughtfully with great attention to detail.
The food was absolutely amazing!!!
Staff was very friendly, Service and food was excellent. Will definitely return
Bad bad bad
WOW! By far top restaurant in Miami! No where else is even close! From the moment you are greeted by the manager Fred Ross to the wait staff and servers...everything is friendly and first class. Food is beyond delicious! Presentions beautiful. Every bite multiple layers of flavor perfectly prepared! Big shout out to the smoked and seared fois gras with strawberry/rhubarb jam. Best fois gras I’ve had anywhere in the world! Can’t wait to return!!!!
I’ve eaten at restaurants all over the world. This was easily one of the best meals I’ve ever had. We did the tasting menu. It was amazing.
Friendly and professional service… a must when you pay this kind of prices. Some of the best foie gras I have ever had (and I have had my share, in spite of my low-cholesterol… LOL).
Anniversary. They gave us Champaign and everyone was lovely.
Amazing food. Every bite is tasty.
Food is amazing. Very creative menu and unusual flavors all working extremely well. One of the best restaurants in town. Service friendly and efficient.
After following Stubborn Seed ravings on FB and elsewhere, had the chance to visit during short visit to Miami. Michelin star quality. Great presentations, and wonderful staff (Michelle was our hostess). Absolutely worth a visit quality over quantity (although we were quite content at the end of our meal).
Service and Drinks were incredible. I went with pretty picky eaters (one is vegetarian, the other just picky). they didn’t love the food but i did. the celery root with mushrooms was very salty IMO. Outside of that impeccable.
The seating process was slow. Limited wine list with first white wine choice unavailable. Picked another wine only to be served 20 minutes later because the white wine was extremely warm. No wine cooler? Main courses came out at different times.
Gave feedback to the manager at the end of the meal... he was unapologetic and seemed unreceptive to the feedback. Just like a stubborn seed...
Amazing food, amazing presentation and wonderful fun vibe. A must try do the Chef tasting and be swept away
Food was very good. Nice presentations. So loud we couldn’t hear very well
An expertly executed meal. Would recommend to any and all visiting the city.
Food items were unique and tasty. I decided to try the celery root with fried porcini and it was excellent. The side items with the halibut & chicken were excellent. The various flavors were nice contrasts & complimentary. The only dismaying thing was that there was uncertainty as to which beers they had. If the menu changes daily they could update the drink menu. I was not aware this was a sharing menu when I booked but for 2 people who have very different tastes the server accommodated us and gave us what we each ordered.
This is a foodie's HEAVEN. Every dish I had was filled with the best pairings of flavor. Even dishes I thought I wouldn't like, were phenomenal. I sat at the bar alone & enjoyed the food & drinks just the same. The bar tender was attentive & knowledgeable about the food.
It's definitely pricey since it's a tasting menu. Portions are small so you'll want to order 3-4 dishes per person.
Delicious, the best food we have had in Miami. We do eat at the greatest places bar none this is the most delicious food in our opinion.
The food was delicious although the halibut itself was a little bland. The sauce was incredible. Service was 5 star.
Nice ambience. I liked the limited menu without a lot of choices.
Nice for a special dinner. Not an everyday dining experience.
One of the best dining experiences I've had in the US, and I have been travelling through both LA & NYC for the purpose of eating. Very modern, European cuisine, with dishes that were very well presented and great taste. The chicken was great, as well as some of the appetizers.
Best food ever
Fun and congenial spot with unusual flavor creations. Only problem is no valet parking. In spite of this Stubborn Seed has become one of our favorite restaurants. Can’t wait to return.
The food was inventive while in ordering the chef’s plate we experienced a lot of Thai chili’s which became less original in taste. The food in the tasting menu was beautifully presented and nicely balanced with great texture of the plate and region of origin. Inventive and reasonably spaced courses. I loved the Pacific influence (while pleasantly incongruous to the SOBE vibe. The ambience was charming while we experienced an early to later evening timing and found it difficult to communicate by the time we left.
The service was attentive while I found our waiter was more directed toward my male friend consistently( I paid the bill). Overall a fun experience.
Everything was perfect
They allow dogs in restaurant
We loved every minute. From our drinks at the bar with “Mr. Bond” (not his name) but such a fantastic young man with an incredible knowledge of great classic drinks,to an amazing dinner. Justin our waiter loved food as much as we do and the kitchen staff had just as much fun preparing our dinner as we did eating. It is a must visit when you are in Miami. I can promise you won’t be disappointed! We didn’t have anything by we wouldn’t order again. In case you need recommendations- the smoked foie gras was amazing, crudos were suburb, lobster and short rib were our choices for main. Finished the night with snickerdoodles and a chocolate dessert that were dynamite! Highly recommend! Enjoy and cheers!
Fantastic. Our waitress (Melissa?) was phenomenal and the food was superb. She also gave us great recommendations for after dinner spots.
The food is amazing! The restaurant is loud.
Food was very good, service was. not smooth & lacked polish to match the menue prices.
Excellent food and choices
First restaurant South of Fifth ( SoFi) that reminds be of NYC. Great alternative to a high end fish or steak joint .
As I told the restaurant , the food is exceptional Tthe lavashand $25 pasta was paltry and the pasta overpriced. The foie gras was $8 to high but great taste the other things were. Wry good
