About Stubborn Seed
Stubborn Seed is the result of pairing unrelenting passion with an unapologetic approach. It aims to unearth cravings of the palate while constructing a reward in each bite. This philosophy takes honest ingredients and elevates them to be splendidly elegant through rigid and persistent execution. There is an undeniable spirit surrounding the Stubborn Seed that stems from Jeremy Ford. His tenacious demeanor and candor define the cuisine, but his technique boosts it. An exceptional and memorable dining experience is championed above all else.

Stubborn Seed Ratings and Reviews
The experience was AMAZING! Awesome menu (which is updated very often based on what is fresh and available) with fresh ingredients mixing all sorts of different flavors together! Presentation of the food is gorgeous! Fantastic server was very knowledgeable about the menu! The passion and joy of everyone at the restaurant only enlightened the entire experience. This is a must do when in the area!
Start to finish - brilliant experience. I noted it was our anniversary in my reservation and they welcomed us with complimentary champagne to mark the occasion, and spelled it out in our eventual dessert option- very thoughtful.
Every single bite was beautiful in presentation and taste. I did not want the meal to end. We practically licked the plate of each dish (we opted for lavash, celery root, charred beets, smoked foie gras, short rib and chicken)!
Worth noting that our sever was attentive and pleasant without being overbearing. We enjoyed his service and input.
Thank you, Stubborn Seed, for our special meal. When in Miami, we shall return whole heartedly!!
Amazing meal! My best meal in Miami. This is a must eat place in Miami. I cannot begin to say enough good things. Every dish I had was nothing short of spectacular. Beets... cauliflower.... foie...lobster... and incredible dessert [corn pavlova].
Service also A1. Michelle and Eddie were great. So happy that I chose to eat here. Recommended by Chef Dean Max. And I’m so glad he did!
Food was phenomenal: best oysters I ever had, great vegetarian as well as other options (the beets were perhaps my favourite). Great atmosphere.
Unfortunately i think we got the rookie waiter which pulled down the evening a bit.
They should also invest in sound absorbers.
Me and my husband ordered the tasting menu with wine pairings because we wanted to try a lot of the menu. The food overall was very good, with a few exceptional dishes, and the wine was well paired, but the front of the house struggled with the service. The food always arrived before the wine, often without much explanation, and the pairings were poorly presented. The wait staff and runners seemed overwhelmed, disorganized, and poorly prepared. I am sure the chef would be disappointed to know his creations are so poorly presented to his diners.
Was a bit loud but got used to it. Dishes very small!! We were 4 people , we each got 1 beet when ordered beet plate . They were seating us st high top table ( husband needs hip replacement ) and wound take half hour wait for other table , think should do something about that ! But enjoyed the food , good service!
They will need to change the menu, pricing, and quality of the food. We could barely eat the pasta......was way too salty. Seemed like no one cared even though I told our server how bad the pasta was. They indicted that it could be due to the salt they add to the water. I explained that I make pasta all the time......and you need to drain and wash it. This was not my problem.
Moreover, they charged me for the pasta. No excuse. They may not be good operators.
We won't be going back. Wish them much luck.
A fabulous tasting menu in a very trendy environment. Was so great to see such an innovative menu with a particular focus on vegetables - the sweet corn dessert took me by surprise but was the stand out for me and was one of the best I have had for a long time. Congratulations to the chef and his wonderful team, I can’t wait to come back and try more delicious dishes when I next return to Miami!
The place has a great ambiance in a not too large space, with a beautiful exposed kitchen. Excellent service & explanation of everything ordered....Great presentation of every dish, with Intersting combination of ingredients, topped off with an amazing dessert!
'Top Chef' Jeremy Ford's Stubborn Seed is a phenomenal restaurant. The 8 course tasting menu is a 'must-do' as every course is a complete surprise! The first few courses were so good I was actually excited to see what they would bring next. It was the most excited I've been for a meal at a restaurant since I moved to Florida 19 years ago. Chef Jeremy lives up to his billing for unique, totally off the path creations. The flavor balance was incredible on all of our dishes and I really liked the out of box scenario's he was trying. We can't wait to go back and try another tasting menu to see if it lives up to the first!
Great vibe, unique presentation, excellent service !
Each dish was exciting, scrumptious and surprising! Vibe is hip and casual. Mix of ages and kinds of people.
Staff well trained, attentive and knowledgeable. ( thanks Jacob!)
Competes with the best restaurants in the NYC foodie circle.
My friends both had Celery Root and Lobster. Both were served timely and my guests loved their dishes. I only ordered the chicken and it didn't arrive until after my guests were served and finished both of their dishes. It was about an hour for my chicken dish, after asking twice, and then it was served barely warm. I truly think the restaurant just made an error with my dish. Everyone around me and my guests seemed to have a great experience, without issue. I did taste my food and it was full of flavor but cold. The restaurant was very apologetic and adjusted our bill and offered us dessert or to do my order over. Managers and servers were very kind. It was just too late for me to make my guests wait to do my dish over. For the price, the kitchen should be on top of their game a little more.
Jeremy Ford swings for a culinary home run with Stubborn Seed, but the service is terrible. A lot of kinks need to be worked on that should start with a complete retraining of the front of house. Either greed or total ineptitude is at play when it comes to reservation management. My reservation was for 830 and I wasn’t seated til almost 930. I did the tasting menu, which I highly recommend. Some of the standouts were the foie grad and the short rib. Unfortunately there were very long pauses of 30 minutes between a few of the course. Clearly some timing issues to work out, too. Still the food was over the top. I hope they get it together.
Horrible. I got there all the way from Brazil. All day flying and had made a dinner plan for 7:30. Got there and I was told that there was no table except for some waiting table at the entrance. I was told to wait 15-20 minutes, which I did. After about 30 minutes, I checked and I was told again 15-20 minutes. I waited another 10 minutes and asked again and yes, I was told 15-20 minutes. No one offered a menu, a drink, a snack. Nothing. Horrible service, never again. Completely disappointed with the experience. By the way, the ambiance looked tacky, the food plates, although I was starving looked very very small portions and not as attractive as they did on pictures. The place is very crowded and noise level high. And lots of people waiting to be seated with or without reservations and meandering around as there is nowhere to go.
