Strong Waters Craft Cocktails & Kitchen
At Strong Waters, we take the meaning of craft to the next level by sourcing only the freshest and highest quality ingredients for our cocktails and cuisine. We utilize the “Farm to Shaker” method for our cocktails, meaning we create unique drinks from local ingredients that transport you to another time and place. Our craft beer list is constantly changing and we only select beer from breweries around the state to give you a true taste of the Carolinas. Speaking of taste, we believe you’ll love our take on the flavors of the Lowcountry in the dishes on our main menu!
Service was good at first went downhill. Drinks were lousy. Didn’t have some of the bar items. Food was ok not great. Not enough help to serve customers.
We never got to dine because even though we made a reservation we were told they would have to kick someone out. Also, this is a straight up bar connected to a hotel, although they have a kids menu, not kid-friendly at all.
Food and drinks were great, service was excellent, and the live music was a lot of fun!
Food & service was wonderful
Burger lacked flavor but other then that everything was good
Delicious Waygu burgers and Mac n cheese
This place is a gem that needs more attention...and a lot more help. The space is amazing and has a great menu. However, it was basically deserted at dinner time and the bar tender (who was also the only server) explained that they had to limit guests because they’re struggling to find help. She did a great job managing everything.
Truffle fries were good. Lobster roll was so so
Our waitress was amazing. She was very attentive and fun! The food was wonderful. There was live music that was so fun to listen to. The crab dip was my favorite.
Food was amazing!
Cocktails unique and tasty!
Service amazing!
Makayla was friendly and fun. Made us feel very welcome and makes a fantastic cocktail!
Delicious and wonderful server. The shrimp, scallop dip was great. The tenderloin and lobster Mac were fabulous!
Limited space due to Covid, so reserve a day ahead of time. Menu LOOKED amazing, but sadly just mediocre. I expected more for the price. Drink service was slow. Pleasant atmosphere and people were friendly.
Understaffed. That was the big problem.
The food here is absolutely amazing, the crab and lobster dip was our favorite. Unfortunately there was only 1 person for the server/bartended and she was trying to handle a lot. The food took way to long and we were stressed by how overwhelmed the staff were. It is a cute place that has a lot of potential but needs some more people working.
Food was tasty and the service was great!
They were short handed with only two employees and a full house. The waitress, bartender, busgirl, server who waited on us was great! She even took the time at the end of the night when things slowed to explain how she made the smoked oldie! I think she may teach classes! Food was great and worth the wait!
I loved almost everything about the experience. The music was quiet enough to talk but still live. The food was good. The waitress was an absolute delight. I loved it! The 4 stars is because the service was not great. I'm assuming they were short staffed because I saw our waitress behind the bar bartending most of the time and only 1 other woman in the whole restaurant. Both ladies were wonderful but they simply could not keep up.
Attentive service, unique craft cocktails and amazing food in an overall relaxing atmosphere!
Great food and atmosphere
Very underwhelming. Food was decent but very basic.
Really enjoyed the setting, service and diverse menu options.
We were looking for a restaurant taking reservations for 6 on New Years Eve and found Strong Waters on Open Table. We arrived early and were still seated rightaway. The food and service were wonderful, plus the live music was great. We really enjoyed our evening!
Very few patrons. This restaurant/bar has TVs lining the wall above the bar which is not how it is advertised, really kills the vibe of a craft kitchen. Brussel leaves were good, truffle fries cold and only had truffle oil on maybe 10 fries, asked for more truffle oil and they brought me olive oil. Lobster egg rolls were delicious and crab cake sandwich good but bun was twice size of the crab cake.
Scallops delicious, tenderloin fantastic! Service was great!
I cannot imagine coming to this restaurant again in my life. The fish was underdone while the risotto was lacking seasoning meanwhile, the mediocre, overpriced cocktails were modestly poured.
Strong Waters was everything you want your casual dining experience to be. The food and drinks were delicious and innovative, the staff was friendly and helpful, the social distancing was carried out effectively and safely and the prices were reasonable. We will be putting this place on our list for any time we return to the Beach.
Loved the look/atmosphere. Not a lot of servers so service was a little slow. But the servers were very nice and quickly responded when asked. We decided on the bartenders choice and although pricey the drinks were amazing. We got the chef’s board. It was supposed to have meat, cheese, pickled vegetables, “mostarda” and preserves. Only had meat, cheese and fruit. We asked about the mustard and preserves and they said they didn’t have any. Sea Bass risotto, ghouda Mac and cheese and candies brussel sprouts were great.
First time cocktails were amazing as well as the food and service.
Little short on the help but overall the food was good. Mixed drinks were good.
If I could give less than one star, I would.
The service was abysmal, I was one of 6 people in the restaurant and it took almost 15 minutes for the bartender/server to acknowledge me. Once I ordered it took nearly 15 minutes to get my drink.
As for the food, I ordered a salad and the sea bass entree. The food took more than 30 minutes to be brought to the table and as soon as the plates were put down, I knew that the piece of fish was served was NOT sea bass.
I took one bite and confirmed that the it was some sort of fish but not sea bass, and it was overcooked and under seasoned. The bed of risotto was more like a mushed rice paste and lacked any sense of flavor.
I was eventually able to get the servers attention to send my meal back and get my check.
The entire experience was horrible and I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.
The food was good. One staff member wore her face mask on her chin, stood very close to patrons, and spoke loudly. Very selfish in this pandemic while the rest of the staff were PPE appropriately.
This was horrible food. The service was great and Jess did her job but damn- when you can’t even “grill” the grilled cheese sandwich ,we have a problem. It went downhill from there. We made a HUGE mistake going there- don’t be us.
Took a while for our drinks to arrive. Food was ok.
First impression wasn’t great, but wow! The food Was fabulous and had a great evening.
We've been customers of Strong Waters for a few years and have always had a great experience. The last one was disappointing. A waitress was repeatedly shouting through the restaurant, the chef's board which is usually awesome consisted of a bunch of grapes, cheddar cheese and some salami. It just didnt live up to our expectations and the cool vibe was just totally lacking. Our entrees were well cooked and tasty, so all was not lost.
They were under staffed in the kitchen so food took a while. Computers went down so they had to write stuff down and some came out later than others.
Food was all good, but not amazing. With the exception of the shrimp/crab dip, that was FABULOUS and the drinks were good too.
Waitress was nice and comped some stuff Dir to the kitchen errors so all in all it was a good experience, but not rushing to go back.
Beach. Not exactly a place for kids but they are always very nice and accommodating to our 2 boys. Husband loved the Smokin Oldie and the brussel leaves are amazing!
Very disappointed - didn’t have 3 of the dinner entrees. Bread was burnt- had to send my beed tenderloin back, asked for medium well, and it came out medium rare - very expensive for how poorly prepared the food was
Best night!
Considering everything this fabulous restaurant has to contend with because of covid, we were surprised at the amazing quality of the food and service. Make sure you have a reservation. It's required. There was even live music. Great experience.
