About
The snacks pair perfectly with their frosty pints-imagine fried okra with charred lemon and remoulade, Cajun boiled peanuts, or a platter of iced eat coast oysters. Stay on for dinner, because the menu offers plenty of proper options. Stout Steamed Mussels with caramelized onion, roasted garlic, burnt rosemary; while the thick, juicy lamb burger is topped with creamy feta cheese and accompanied by sun-dried tomato ketchup and rosemary salt-tossed French fries.
The restaurant was closed (permanently, from the looks of it) when we arrived.
Came to Strong Place on a rainy evening, so it was relatively quiet. They have a good beer selection and I really enjoyed the appetizers we ordered. I wasn't a fan of the mussels in a stout sauce - tasted too bitter to me. Our server was friendly and had a good sense of humor, and it was no problem having a few leisurely drinks at a table in the back for a few hours. They have board games to keep you occupied, too, though we didn't play any while we were there.
Server/hostess' welcome and first response to our Opentable reservation for dinner on 9/24, a flat unapologetic: "I don't know anything about reservations; my manager handles it." Ran out of one menu option we ordered. Service again was flat and unapologetic. Outside backyard is lovely and intimate. Service leaves much more to be desired.
24 beers on tap, with many IPA choices. But the food is up to challenge - yummy mussels, snacks to share like pickle plate and falafel bite.s The only miss - an ice cold vegetarian sandwich
