High marks for location and ambiance but would have liked to see more on the menu at affordable prices. What we ate was good but not up to the prices being charged
Tasting menu was excellent. Included variety of food type that satisfied all of my friends. Gave us more time to enjoy each other’s conversation since menu was already set. We will definitely return to Strip Steak in the near future. Wait staff were excellent.
We came for Restaurant Week - it makes it affordable for locals to try these amazing restaurants. The menu was fabulous. Steak. fries and ahi crudo were amazing.
Great service! We had multiple service staff and they were all attentive and informative. Never felt rushed, even as the restaurant filled to capacity. Food was tasty and filling
Ive been here 5 times and every single time was fantastic. The service is excellent, cannot say anymore about the staff. The food is almost excellent except for the steak... Last time i had their steak was my first experience with Strip Steak. I had the 45day aged NY Strip with truffle butter, not tender... Tasty but not tender, didnt order steak again, no need everything else is tops. This time i saw they had a change in the menu, a Tomahawk cut of aged ribeye, again... Disappointed, not the aged concentrated beef taste and not that tender (disclaimer: ive been preparing my steaks at home sousvide and in my opinion i can make a $180 less costing steak more tender and more tasty. So i have rediculously high standards for steak, and just for kicks i bought a Wagyu Tomahawk Ribeye and yes it was rediculously good, sousvide and seared to perfection). Everything else! and i do mean everything else from the apps to the haupia sorbet were soooo good, like the previous times were excellent. The tuna tartar which they prepare tableside is so buttery creamy! The always rediculous Lobster Pot Pie is a must, yes its worth it. Pork lovers have to get the Instant Bacon, i ordered three servings for 4 of us. The Hamachi Sake poke still makes me scratch my head how refreshing it is. They gave me a complimentary Pineapple Fosters and while i personally dont like pineapple, i thought it was ok, the other peeps loved it... Of course the giant flame ball helped with the ooos and ahhhhhs. I loved the Chocolate Lava the cookie crumble and vanilla ice cream... Cmon lava cake is just bomb anyway. Finally the specialty drink menu is really good, i think most all their drinks have a wow factor individually even if you dont like certain tastes you can appreciate what went into the drinks,my fav is the Pirate... Something... Just tasty! I try to bring different peeps everytime so that they can experience the place, i love seeing happily amazed faces.
We came here for my mother in law’s birthday and it was an incredible experience. Kaila was amazing! She was so attentive and she knew when we needed assistance and was there before we could raise our hand to get her attention. The food was absolutely amazing and the ambience with the live singer was fantastic.
It was 1st time visit.
I made mistake for reservation but they put us seat without waiting.
Great Japanese-American fusion food.
Great food idea good for both native and tourist.
The service was great.
I really wanna visit again.
Our first trip to Honolulu and our friends recommended it.
Good food but service was screwed up. Waiter did not get orders correct and one of us had to wait for main entree.
Food was great. Service was very slow.
Incredible dinner, music by Randy, and service. One of our favorites in Hawaii.
Excellent restaurant. Great staff. Amazing dishes. Great decor. Top high end restaurant.
Strip steak maybe one of the best new restaurants in Waikiki it is in a beautiful setting it’s a gorgeous restaurant well trained service and incredible menu prepared just perfectly the wine list is exquisite the bartenders and their drinks are the best and it is just a knockout not down wonderful experience to enjoy I recommend strip steak to everyone
This was my first visit to StripSteak and I was very happy with the experience. The service was superb from the moment they greeted us to the end of our meal service. We tried their trio of french fries and shared a salad before going on to our main course. If you have the appetite for it, I highly recommend you add the foie gras to your steak. The two together, with all the sides was great... way better than Ruth's Chris in my opinion. To top off the night, we had to special pineapple dessert, which was prepared table-side with open flame. It was hot, it was good, it was amazing.
Great food and service. Love the Stripsteak in Las Vegas, and Stripsteak Waikiki did not disappoint.
Pull wine too late
We had $195 dry age porterhouse. It was good but it wasn’t great. It was a little over medium or more close to medium then the medium rare we ordered, so it was a little chewy and not as tasty as it should’ve been.
The most romantic peaceful evening we spent in the month we were in Honolulu.
We wanted a very special dinner to say thank you to a special couple. We took them to a lovely dinner at StripSteak by Chef Michael Mina. We had the Ohana Meal, meaning family style. We were served 3 different appetizers which we all shared & we chose the Ribeye Steak for our main entree. 3 of us asked for medium rare & one wanted her steak medium & they were cooked perfect to our specifications. The price of the meal included all the sides which made the meal really good value versus ordering ala carte. The waitress was very attentive & introduce each course with so much gusto that boosted the enjoyment of our food. Dessert was not included in the price but we had so much food that we just shared one dessert to complete the meal. We enjoyed the Ohana Meal very much & we’re thinking of doing it again with other friends.
The weather is cold, the air conditioning is cold to our whole table eight people shake, with the attendant to reflect, but can not solve. The steak is really not beautiful and difficult to eat, so the expensive steak is only served with French fries, which is really bad.
I like the ambiance and the interior. Service was nice too. But food... it’s way overpriced. First of all they don’t even have bread... choices are French fries or King’s Hawaiian sweet bread!! Disappointing... We ordered scallop dish and it was ok. Rib eye steak was tasty enough but too much fat and too pricey for that quality. I wanted to try lobster pot pie but it was $95! I didn’t go for it.
Another disappointment was their dessert. For $12 they should at least decorate a small cake with lots of berries and whip cream or something. Not only a half of strawberry... That was ridiculous...
Nice to be at the hip place but hmm...I don’t think I’d go back.
The 8oz A5 WAGU was amazing. I truly enjoyed the tasteful cuisine. Sean ( waiter) provided A+ customer service. His knowledge was very key to deciding what flavors to fill my appetite and knew everything about the menu as if himself was the CHEF preparing the meal. I will always remember this place.
Had reservation and were given choice of inside or outside seating. Tried latter and they put us at little table in major traffic area. Felt like we were in the way of wait staff. They were nice about moving us inside, to a comfy booth. Appetizers and drinks were good but steaks were not the most flavorful and one of them was underdone and barely room-temp when served. Sides were somewhat disappointing, especially spinach (no seasoning) and mushrooms (too red-winey). Mashed potatoes were really good, tho. Atmosphere was OK, and service was good, but food was not worth the money.
We had an excellent anniversary dinner at stripsteak. The food was impeccable and the service could not have been better. Also, the live music was excellent. I would definitely eat here again. Thank you for a very memorable evening.
The food was tasteless and bellow average and service was okay we felt rushed all the time by our server...
Food and service was great. Came here for my 22nd birthday and the entire table was treated with a birthday drink on the house! Everything I had tried from the “sake and hamachi poke” to my entree- “ribeye with foie gras butter plus a seared foie gras” was perfectly delicious. My time there was a definite 5 star experience without the fact that I had asked for my left over entree to be packed to-go, only to find out that the foie gras had not been packed :( Other than that, it is most certainly a place worth visiting.
Considering you receive very average selections for food, wine, and taste, they are definitely overpriced. The only good comment is that the restaurant is new and nicely conceived. The wait staff is very attentive and efficient.
From start to finish service and food exceeded my expectations!
Month long celebration of our 50th years of marriage with our Ohana. Better here than the one in Vegas because of the Island feel.
Excellent filet. Perfectly cooked. Lobster taco very disappointing. It was not clear they are served cold. They charge $2-3 for sauces, including their own house steak sauce. Portions are very small. This is frustrating when paying $60 for the steak.
The food was amazing. The chef sent out a fresh fish pre dinner treat for ys as we were returning for the second time in 4 days. It was an amazung fresh raw fish in a wonderful sauce.. We felt very special. We had the king crab appetizer as well as the bacon bacon which both were exceptional. We all 3 had steaks and the mac and cheese all was very good.
We started with the Lobster Taco’s which were very beautifully presented but literally had no lobster in them. All we could taste was pineapple. We then had the BLT Wedge Salad which again had a wonderful presentation but the ranch dressing was very bland and I could only find a few crumbles of blue cheese. We both ordered steak (Rib Eye & Fillet). The meat itself was very good quality but both were cold. We travel a lot and eat in many nice restaurants and we overall very disappointed in our first experience at a Michael Mina restaurant. We would not recommend or return to this restaurant.
