Although it was raining the water view was relaxing. The quiet atmosphere was conducive to conversation with my dining partners. The seafood platter was delicious. Bacon wrapped scallops as an appetizer an excellent choice or paired with a salad would make a good meal. Would highly recommend.
The food was good, the drinks were good as well. The prices are a little steep though.
I expected with the prices that this place would be good. My husband's drink was missing an essential element to it which made it taste horrible and the waiter didn't offer to get him a new one or take it back to get it added. We were never asked if we wanted anymore adult drinks, nor received refills on the only water he brought. The seafood was tough and cold by the time we got it. Our waiter never checked on us after we got the food. We spent $140 on food and drinks that were very poor. And there were only a handful of tables the waiter was handling so he should not have been so negligent of his tables
Excellent food, atmosphere and service. Would recommend.
Tl;dr - Most of the food was not good, and were not worth the money.
Our waitress was nice and quick and the drinks were fine. Beyond that, we're never going back here again.
We started with a dozen oysters. I've eaten a lot of oysters in my life, and this is the first time I ever sent them back. They smelled fishy and were not fresh. While the waitress assured us they were fresh today, they tasted like spoiled seafood. So either she was wrong about that, or they just get cheap oysters.
Next, our entrees were just bad. I had the stuffed flounder with mashed potatoes. The potatoes were super dry, as was the flounder. It seemed like it had been cooked, then sat out and microwaved. My husband got the seafood pasta, and it was the best dish we had, simply because it was OK. But it wasn't worth the $30 they charge for it.
I'm not happy giving a 2 star review, because the location on the water is great. Maybe some of their other dishes are better, but our experience was bad. We won't be going back, despite it literally being within walking distance for us.
Very good service from Grace, the food and beers she recommended were excellent.
It was a pleasurable experience.
Food was great. Menu limited due to COVID-19.. but whar ordered was great.
We had an amazing experience. Our waiter was very sweet and attentive. The food was amazing and they kept everyone distant due to COVID.
We love this place!!! Food is great, ambiance is great n so is the staff
Food was horrible. But great server
Food is on par with the other seafood restaurants in the area, but it’s waterfront dining area is perfect for watching the sunset while you dine.
Wonderful place! Amazing food (key lime pie a must!) Very kind staff.
The beer battered haddock and the soft shell crabs were tasty. The meals which included french fries and cole slaw were a little overpriced. It would have been nice to have other selections of sides, I e. baked potato, green vegetable, rice pilaf, etc.
Daughter in town visiting
Nice outdoor seating area with waterside views. Reasonably priced.
Very disappointed, not planning to go back anytime soon.
We sat out on the patio and thoroughly enjoyed the food and location. We had calamari, hush puppies, fried platter, burgers, sweet potato fries. It was all amazing. Our server was on point and friendly. I’ve recommended it to family and friends who have expressed the same. I will definitely return.
We had Kaitlynn as our server and she provided an exceptional experience for our first visit to Striper’s. We will definitely be returning and requesting her as our server!
We had the seafood platter, everything was good, especially the fried shrimp. The sweet potato fries and the garlic green beans were outstanding. The wait staff were excellent.
Ready to be helped by anyone. They made sure we had a waitress and it was a good experience.
Stripper is having a very hard time after a COVID. Several new servers and cooks. Manager was trying to make up for it, but the problems were obvious. I hope they can get it together soon, because I love the venue.
Our server was great, she seemed to be the only one actually working while the rest of the staff seemed confused.
Food was good, although it was delivered to our table in several separate deliveries.
Excellent food, environment and service!
Dinner was awesome
Gorgeous day - sat out on the patio and watched all the boats go by. So nice to get out!
Service was all over the place. Our waiter didn’t know the menu at all and had to keep coming back and change our orders. Luckily the food was good, but maybe do a little homework before you clock in
Very, very slow service with very little business on a Monday night.
The service was friendly and attentive but not overly so. The food came out in a timely and the quality of the steak was excellent.
Excellent service and all around great atmosphere recommend it will definitely visit again
Food was just “ok” so was overpriced in our opinion. Hubby got the Shrimp with grits. Grits were supposed to be cheesy but we’re not; however, the sauce was a good flavor. Not many shrimp - 7 or 8 medium sized but was priced at $16.99 I believe so wasn’t too bad. Also got the crab stuffed flounder. The flounder was over cooked and the sauce had no flavor so that was a disappointment for a $21 dish. Against my better judgment we tried a dessert also - bread pudding - and that also was not impressive. So basically it’s in a good location with a nice ambiance but the food could be better.
We had a reservation but still waited over half an hour for a table. Wait staff was very friendly and helpful though once we informed them. Food was pretty good but we probably won’t be back. We had a drink at the bar while we waited for our table and the bartender brought the wrong drink out. She apologized and it seemed she was the only bartender on for both the bar and the restaurant, so she was definitely understaffed. Hopefully the restaurant staffs better in the future - especially for a Saturday night during restaurant week!
I made the reservation for 6:30 PM. I arrived at 6:10 and was advised that there would be a wait. This wasn’t an issue until we were seated at 6:30 at a table for two that had been open since we arrived, as it was visible from the waiting area.
Regarding the service, when the meals were ordered, we had to remind the server twice of our salads. I also had to remind her about the beer I had ordered. It just made for a not so good date after traveling from Hampton for the sole purpose of dining there.
Creme brulee is small, crab cakes were Awesome!
We went on a Friday night. It wasn’t many patrons there. The bar was out of mint for mojitos. They did not have cucumber for martinis. The fish tacos were dry. They were out of the ranch dressing for the salad. Nothing that Stood out that would make me want to come back.
I have had the Stuffed Flounder before and it has been excellent. This time was a bit sub-par. The edges of the fish were chewy as if they had dried out during the cooking process. Then the waitress/manager took our check and when she returned it they had charged us for another table with a 25% higher charge. This was corrected, but I feel had I not checked it and compared it with what I had seen the first time it was handed to me I would have been overcharged.
Finally, I am not sure why you ask on the reservation site what the occasion for dining with you is. Since I said anniversary you would have expected a little extra service such as a Rose on the table. A glass of wine or something. Why collect this information if you aren't going to use it to ad value to the dining experience.
The view of the water was delightful. The food was good, but I was surprised when they seated five adults in a booth. It was too small to accommodate three adults on one side of the booth; even the wait staff commented that she was surprised they would do this. We were able to add a chair to end of the table upon request so that we were able to enjoy our dinner. The food was good but not great. The wait staff appeared to have all of her other tables in a different section of the restaurant so she was hard to find and didn't check on us much. We sat for about 15-20 minutes waiting for her to pick up our check and process the credit card. We had to ask another staff member to give it to her since we could not see her.
It was quiet the evening we dined at Stripers, our gal was really nice. The only concern was that we wanted to sit by the window to view out at the harbor but after about 15 minutes, we had to move because the fan was on. According to the hostess, she had no control over it. Someone might want to take a look at that.
Food and service were much better than we expected. I had pan seared grouper..all good was good. Dessert excellent. First timers.
Everything was so great, will definitely go back, to be fair it was quite because it was very early.
Thank you for the wonderful review come back soon
