Strip House Speakeasy
Named a top steakhouse by Zagat and awarded four stars by Forbes, the namesake cut of aged beef isn't the only work of art to marvel upon...just take a look at the walls and tell us you don’t agree. Black and white vintage photos of bordello girls from the original 1900’s Studio Manasse collection reference an era of decadence and seduction.
Visit our second NYC location, Strip House Midtown at 44th Street between 5th and 6th Avenues, or on the Las Vegas Strip at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino.
Fun date night spot. Food was okay. Service was fantastic.
The food and service was amazing. What a great deal!
Food always good. Service always good
Good solid steakhouse fare in a smaller more intimate setting than typically.
Excellent resti week menu, great service and cool spot!
Very poor service overall- waiter didn’t even come to our table to ask if we needed more drinks or food once the food came to the table. Food was good but nothing to write home about and will not come back.
Always good steaks. The wait staff is always good. Bar closes very early
Always good steaks. Excellent service
My family wanted a great dining experience so we booked in the Speakeasy! The food was amazing, the server, Asma and the bartender were fantastic! This is the best steakhouse in the city!
A great meal with great service to celebrate a friend’s birthday. Asma our server was top notch! Brian then bartender was fantastic and friendly. The steaks are the best in city! What an amazing experience! Thank you to everyone at the Speakeasy for making my friends birthday so memorable!
Favorite place for steak night in the entire city.
Food is always consistent. There’s enough on the menu that isn’t just meat.
We had the best waiter in the world!
Food was average at best, no better than any NY steak place. Service was atrocious from beginning to end, from host to bus boy. Can’t even give the details on what went wrong, far too numerous errors. Nearly $450 for three people with no bottle of wine (only because it never came) and two main courses. And for that we had the pleasure of having our table emptied, leaving us sitting at a completely empty table after we paid the check - guess they wanted us to leave. No worries - will not be back and will not recommend.
We ate in the speakeasy. Ambience is fun... Great tunes playing the whole time. So not your typical steakhouse that is overly formal/quiet. Steak was prepared exactly right. Weird... But I'm dying over the broccoli. Order it. It is amazing and you won't be disappointed. Goose fat potatoes are overrated. Seriously... Still dying over the broccoli.
Just too noisy and so incredibly expensive for what it was. Food was good and waiter was great but still...three of us ended up walking out with a 500 bill... thats too much. Not even a bottle of wine!
One of my favorite steak houses. Great Martinelli and wine list. Staff is always courteous and attentive. Top notch service. Will always be back.
Love this restaurant and concept. Dined in the bar at the Speakeasy this time and it was perfect. The food and service always exceptional. The New Big Strip Burger for the month of May is a must try.
Our experience went well until our meal arrived. The food was extremely mediocre for the prices they are charging. My expensive ribeye steak arrived and it was hard and tasteless and slightly over cooked. The Strip House potatoes were as thick as wall paper and creamed spinach had a bad taste. What a disappointment.. We would have had a more satisfying meal at chain steakhouse, instead of spending $250.00 for dinner for two. Will not return, do not recommend. We are New Yorkers and do enjoy nice restaurants.
A mouthgasmic experience! This was my first time going and I purchased a gift card before I left so I could return.
Not very good company but great food and service did minimize the trauma of the experience
Great cocktails and amazing steaks! As always great service and quality meats. Except for a few ultra loud diners that feel like showing off for the tables around them screaming of the billions they manage, the rest of the evening was great, the drinks perfectly mixed and the meats as it is to be expected from the strip house, perfect quality.
Excellent service and food.
I had the bone in ribeye and it was cooked to perfection. Our server, Rob, was very knowledgable and engaging. Wish I could get that type of treatment every time I go to a restaurant. The 12 layer cake was moist and delicious. I came, I saw and I'm so happy I did.
The best steak in the city! Great atmosphere and amazing service!
Not sure why we would want to dine in the speakeasy instead of the main dining room in the future unless we want the burger or sit at the bar. The service, while good, was slightly less attentive and focused than in the main room. And the setting is not quite as nice.
The bartender Eddie was FANTASTIC, he was personable, engaging and provided amazing guidance when it came to both food and drink ordering.
Trying different steak places in Manhattan... will return to Strip House - exceptional steak, cocktails & service... enjoyable evening - great baked Alaska for dessert!
Steaks were great as always
Caesar salad needed more dressing
24 layer chocolate cake was scrumptious
Waiter was extremely pushy and picking up plates when we hadn’t finished
Best steak in the city! The intimate atmosphere of the Speakeasy is fun and energetic! Ask about the salmon tartare!!! The staff is amazing.
Took my niece out for her 25th Birthday - what a great night at the Strip House Speakeasy - Ambience, food , service all were top notch! I had the filet and my niece had the lamb chops - nice size portion w sides. we started off w Steak tartar and a Cesar Salad -Everything was delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant for ANY occasion!
We ordered Porterhouse Steak for two and a couple of sides. The food came out cooked correctly but not hot. It appeared the steak was taken out of the dish it was cooked in and transferred. There were no Steak juices in the dish to use. The bathroom needed attention and the spacing of the tables were to close. Not worth the price paid.
The table where we sat added just the right amount of obstacle so that it felt that the staff were constantly hovering over you and asking to be excused because there was such little space for them to service the tables. The food was average and less inspiring than my previous visits. It may be a reflection of the change in the restaurant group ownership. I will not return.
I’m so sorry, but the speakeasy on Valentine’s Day provided subpar food. Everything seemed prepared a day in advance and tasted old. Especially compared to other steak restaurants in the city, this one does not elicit an “omg” reaction when you taste the food.
Tables were so close together that I couldn't even pass through them to get to my seat without my butt hitting the other tables glasses of water! Give us some space! Might as well be at a communal table!
Disappointing. My wife and I went here 6 years ago and decided to go again since we are a Steak-head. Final day of restaurant week so why not.
We were celebrating our friends birthday who flew in from California and was noted in open table. Everywhere we go for a birthday the very least is acknowledgement or some comp dessert. Wasn’t expecting anything comp but acknowledgment is always welcoming.
Anyways, first off. Our table was not given any bread although tables next to us were given ample. Asked mid way through dinner and MOD (Manager on Duty) said oh, since it is restaurant week we only serve bread per request. WHAT? I consider StripHouse as a high end restaurant and your bread is per request? That’s pretty petty and ridiculous. Ok fine, let’s keep it going. Our waiter explained it was restaurant week and specials but forgot the wine bottle special that again we overheard next to us. So that was another negative.
Food was good thank god. Our waiter only came at most 2x to check on us in the course of our meal.
All in all, probably would not return. Not mentioning no happy birthday, lack of empathy of service, bread is per request (petty) and Manager wasn’t showing any interest of servicing customers.
Great menu. Food was great.
The room is small and cozy. The service was impeccable. We were there for Restaurant Week. The appetizers were very good. The Bronzino was perfect and so was the short ribs with gnocchi as well.
We are planning to go back for some steaks in the near future.
I’ve been here many times and had amazing meals, but the last two times, the quality of the meat seems to have degraded. We usually get the dry-aged porterhouse and it was fairly tough despite ordering it medium rare. It also had a bit of a fishy taste which was off putting.
Generally, love this place, and am assuming something has just been out of whack the last six months.
LOVE THIS PLACE! much younger / hipper / more relaxed vibe than the upstairs dining room (also amazing)
