Alex was fabulous- service, knowledge of menu and recommendations re: wine, great atmosphere and felt safe with COVID without taking away from the ambience.
I love this steakhouse and it’s probably my favorite steakhouse in NYC. Always perfectly prepared steak, the sides are flavorful and generous. They have a fantastic wine list. The service is always top notch. You will not regret going here.
Had a great time! Came for thanksgiving!!
The staff were great. Service was amazing. Food was awesome.
Everything was perfect - amazing waitress, delicious food, as always. Obviously a bit more quiet than usual due to capacity reduction, but it made it feel very private and special.
Our waitress was fantastic- she knew I hadn’t eaten lunch and she got my appetizer out quickly. The food was delicious and this was the first place that cooked my son’s filet to the exact temp he wanted without having to butterfly it. It was the perfect temperature. He also tried and loved the duck confit potatoes. Just sad I was too full to order that multi layer chocolate cake.
Strip House has always a favorite of mine. Never fails to be amazing.
One of the best restaurants in NYC. Never had a bad meal or service there. Thankful Covid did not hurt them
I have already answered this survey. Please stop flooding me with more requests to do so. Thank you
We received a char with butter and bread. The char was half empty, clearly used by another guest before served to us. When I called the waitress over, she said: That's interesting and took it away. No apology or something. Are you kidding me? That's really unacceptable on every level. Will never set s food in that restaurant! Very concerning how they handle hygiene and customer service.
Although I love this place, last night it was not so special. Had my regular filet M that was cooked to perfection, but not as tender as usual. My girl had a cod special that was less than average. I know this isn’t a fish place, but something above normal house cooking would be expected. Will go back, and hopefully next time they will deliver as usual so I don’t need to find a new steakhouse in my neighborhood.
Took my 80 year old Mom for a Christmas present
Should be rated one of the top steakhouses in NYC.
Plain and simple it’s too expensive. The cheapest bottle of wine is $85.
The steaks are good not great. Whipped potatoes are excellent.
Too expensive for what it is.
I really liked the atmosphere and the winter sangria was amazing! I wish we would have tried the chocolate cake!
Phenomenal service coupled with carefully crafted cocktails and food that leaves you speechless.
Went there for restaurant week - limited choices especially if you don’t want to pay extra surcharge. Good cocktails but wine list is cost prohibitive. Cozy environment and nice bar. Great location in the village.
Cozy space, with knowledgable Staff, top-notch food and wine list.
I am a longtime regular customer at the strip house which is only a few blocks from my home and frequent both the speakeasy and the restaurant. i brought my daughter and a guest from London to an early dinner on a Wednesday night and had terrible service and a terrible steak.I’m not sure what to think about it but I was embarrassed and am seriously thinking of chopping this restaurant from my list.
There was a time when I thought Strip House provided a unique value relative to other steakhouses in Manhattan, however it seems that time has passed. Our meal was fine, the service was mediocre and the wine list was unapproachable.
Excelente sitio, muy buen ambiente, la comida deliciosa
While the food was good, it could have been better for the price. However my rating is mostly based off of my experience, which can really outshine the food quality. I came very close to walking out and finding something elsewhere.
Poorly named "Speakeasy" is in a basement area of Strip House. Since our reservation was in Speakeasy, I went down to check in - we were about 20 minutes early so I wasn't expecting to get a seat immediately.
I waited a few minutes near the bar, where I noticed a family of 4 crowded & standing around a table. It looked like no one had approached them and they'd been waiting a while. Since no one seemed to be around to seat us (no host stand, no one paying attention to waiting patrons) I figured I'd go upstairs and ask the host there is thats where we needed to check in.
There were 2 women there, and was greeted upon entry which was nice. I let the host know thay we were early but wanted to check if our table was available. She started scrolling to search, and I let her know the reservation was at Speakeasy. She stopped what she was looking for and told me I'd have to check in downstairs. I told her that there wasn't a host or anything there to seat us. Someone else came up, while there was still another host there, asking about changing to a booth and the host started talking to her instead and ignoring that I was still standing there waiting for assistance.
Frustrated, I went back downstairs to take a better look in case I missed something. Still, no one. That same family standing around the table unsure of what to do and obviously still hadn't been approached.
So I went BACK upstairs and told her, still standing there, that there wasn't a host, we have a reservation for 5. So she stomps around me and leads me downstairs, where she grabs a tablet off of the bar, tells the family who had been waiting that they could sit, and waved at me to follow her.
After seating us she stated she was the GM. Expected much better service for $500
Excellent as always! Bar staff is excellent
Very cool space - former speakeasy (duh!). The seafood platter had the typical shrimp, clams, oysters and crab - but surprised us with the addition of tuna tartare, a delicious calamari salad and lobster tail. Mignonette, mayo-mustard and a nice cocktail sauce rounded out the platter. All of the seafood was fresh and delicious. Our porterhouse for 2 was cooked perfectly (rare). Was somewhat smaller than other steakhouses, but still enough for 2 with sides. Our other guest's steak was served medium instead of medium rare, but was flavorful. The mushroom sides, goose-fat potatoes and fries were all great sides. Drinks were good, the signature martini should use a higher end vodka - other than Absolut. Overall a great meal and would come to visit again.
Special birthday celebration
The best steakhouse experience in NYC. Try a seat at the bar for an extra-special night.
Amanda was AWESOME at helping our group order our food. She was very knowledgeable about the entire menu, both food and drink. Hands down, best experience ever.
Our favorite NYC Steakhouse - the speakeasy is warm and intimate. The food and service are perfect.
Excellent as always! The New Fall items are a must try.
Lovely steak and cooked very well but let down by poor sides, especially the baked and goose fat potatoes.
Sautéed wild mushrooms were also just average.
Fun date night spot. Food was okay. Service was fantastic.
The food and service was amazing. What a great deal!
Food always good. Service always good
Good solid steakhouse fare in a smaller more intimate setting than typically.
Excellent resti week menu, great service and cool spot!
Very poor service overall- waiter didn’t even come to our table to ask if we needed more drinks or food once the food came to the table. Food was good but nothing to write home about and will not come back.
Always good steaks. The wait staff is always good. Bar closes very early
Nice evening
Always good steaks. Excellent service
My family wanted a great dining experience so we booked in the Speakeasy! The food was amazing, the server, Asma and the bartender were fantastic! This is the best steakhouse in the city!
