The service was not great, the bread was hard as a rock, bartender didn't know how to make a negroni and overall we were disappointed.
Restaurant closing; they should close it now as they have a very inexperienced skeleton crew and are charging NY City Steak house prices. The saving grace is the adorable super friendly bartender and Michael the Manager who is doing his best.
Food was great, service was attentive. Waiter even asked us if we were then for an occasion and gave us a free dessert when he found out it was a birthday.
As expected, the meal was excellent. The steaks were prepared as requested, the service was excellent. This is a reliable restaurant that generally doesn't disappoint. My only source of displeasure on this occasion was that the bar did not have the necessary ingredients for my colleagues drink. Before the meal, we sat at the bar and he ordered a Manahattan. After she prepared it and placed it in front of him, she mentioned they didn't have any bitters. She should have mentioned it earlier, offered him other suggestions, or apologized and asked if he still wanted it. Personally I would have returned it and asked for something else, but my colleague chose to accept it, and not make a fuss. He didn't enjoy the drink, which at $16 is a waste.
Service was some of the worst I've experienced. No wait staff approached my table until I complained to a manager after being seated for 20-25 minutes. Then when someone finally appeared, there was no apology. After placing my order, the food didn't arrive for 30-40 minutes, even though the restaurant was less than 25% full. The experience was so bad that I advised the front desk that I would never stay at the hotel again - even though the room was sufficient.
Service was awful. I dont mind paying NYC prices if service is commensurate, but they really missed the mark here. Would not go back again. For the price, much better food and service at Roots in Summit
Always love it here however it seemed something was a miss this night. The service was poor and food was not right. All in all rough night for them but good experience nonetheless.
This was a typical steakhouse, menu very limited with steak options being the obvious. Wish perhaps more seafood choices, like lobster, but then again the price would have been astronomical! Appetizers were just okay, filet mignon was cooked as requested, but the meat was dry, it even looked dry on the plate, not appetizing. Tables for two were about 24" apart , so private conversation was impossible. Two cocktails, two wines two entrees and two sides, no dessert and check with tip was $250.00! We have enjoyed much better steaks for far less. Would not return.
I had a waiter who did not seem like he knew what he was doing. Never came back when I wanted to order wine, he did not put in our vegetable order which they then rushed and did not do properly. I've been to the restaurant a number of times but this is the first time that the bar was empty, the restaurant was half empty and this was a sat. night.
A very disappointing experience and I don't think I'll come back or recommend the place ever again.
