The service was not great, the bread was hard as a rock, bartender didn't know how to make a negroni and overall we were disappointed.
Restaurant closing; they should close it now as they have a very inexperienced skeleton crew and are charging NY City Steak house prices. The saving grace is the adorable super friendly bartender and Michael the Manager who is doing his best.
Food was great, service was attentive. Waiter even asked us if we were then for an occasion and gave us a free dessert when he found out it was a birthday.
As expected, the meal was excellent. The steaks were prepared as requested, the service was excellent. This is a reliable restaurant that generally doesn't disappoint. My only source of displeasure on this occasion was that the bar did not have the necessary ingredients for my colleagues drink. Before the meal, we sat at the bar and he ordered a Manahattan. After she prepared it and placed it in front of him, she mentioned they didn't have any bitters. She should have mentioned it earlier, offered him other suggestions, or apologized and asked if he still wanted it. Personally I would have returned it and asked for something else, but my colleague chose to accept it, and not make a fuss. He didn't enjoy the drink, which at $16 is a waste.
Service was some of the worst I've experienced. No wait staff approached my table until I complained to a manager after being seated for 20-25 minutes. Then when someone finally appeared, there was no apology. After placing my order, the food didn't arrive for 30-40 minutes, even though the restaurant was less than 25% full. The experience was so bad that I advised the front desk that I would never stay at the hotel again - even though the room was sufficient.
Service was awful. I dont mind paying NYC prices if service is commensurate, but they really missed the mark here. Would not go back again. For the price, much better food and service at Roots in Summit
Always love it here however it seemed something was a miss this night. The service was poor and food was not right. All in all rough night for them but good experience nonetheless.
This was a typical steakhouse, menu very limited with steak options being the obvious. Wish perhaps more seafood choices, like lobster, but then again the price would have been astronomical! Appetizers were just okay, filet mignon was cooked as requested, but the meat was dry, it even looked dry on the plate, not appetizing. Tables for two were about 24" apart , so private conversation was impossible. Two cocktails, two wines two entrees and two sides, no dessert and check with tip was $250.00! We have enjoyed much better steaks for far less. Would not return.
I had a waiter who did not seem like he knew what he was doing. Never came back when I wanted to order wine, he did not put in our vegetable order which they then rushed and did not do properly. I've been to the restaurant a number of times but this is the first time that the bar was empty, the restaurant was half empty and this was a sat. night.
A very disappointing experience and I don't think I'll come back or recommend the place ever again.
Waiter did not know the differences between the menu selections.
Great service. Food was delicious. Very nice and quiet atmosphere.
Nothing special. Everything's pretty overpriced and food doesn't really wow. If your looking for a normal dinner and don't mind spending a little, this is the place for you.
Great service. Manager named Mike very professional and friendly. Was very pleased all around.
worst 50.00 i ever spent. medium well steak was bloody in the middle, could not remove lobster tail from shell because it was dry and overcooked. waiter seemed to be in a trance.
Been coming to The Strip House for years, and love the staff and the room. The food wasn't as good as I remember from 2016. Can't put my finger on it. Beef was good not great (bone-in filet), I miss that massive bulb of garlic they put on the plate (used to squeeze out the cooked garlic and mix it in with the potatoes and on the steak) and now they throw a bunch of friend onion strings on the plate instead. Don't get me wrong--I at every bit of it and even picked up the bone and gnawed on it a bit. Great bartender, weak by-the-glass wine selection.
The cocktails and service were excellent. The rib eye was average for the money.
Good news is that the filet mignon that my husband and I ordered was excellent and cooked to perfection. The petite was plenty big btw. I had an appetizer special, oysters rockefeller, which were good. My husband had shrimp cocktail. They were enormous but hard and he felt they were cooked a couple of days prior. In fact the "spiralized" cucumber that they sat on was very mushy and had an old taste. The bread was ok but a couple of the long Italian type rolls were very hard.
When we arrived, half an hour early, by design, we went to the bar for a drink. I asked for a VO Old Fashioned and was told they had no VO. For an upscale type of restaurant I had to settle for Seagrams 7. I have never been anywhere where there was no VO except for a chain type restaurant which wasn't surprising. Now, I must comment on the decor. Red, red, red! Wall paper with flocking, red booths, red ceiling, red lamp shades. Really? Straight out of the 70's.
At least our service was excellent. Very attentive.
Foood was great. Steak too rare
Very disappointing service was awful the waiter was on the level of a diner waiter. Food was ok found out wasn't afflicted with the original strip house in NYC. Wouldn't go back
I'm getting tired of giving this place a chance I think I've gone for the last time
WAITER WAS CLUELESS HE CAME UP TO THE TABLE TOLD US THE SPECIALS, SAID NOTHING, IT WAS CHRISTMAS , WE LOOKED AT EACH OTHER THEN WE HAD TO ASK HIM FOR THE MENUS
My sons ordered steak and they were quite good. I ordered the lobster bisque which was only so so, a caesar salad which was dreadful ( soggy and vinegary) and clams casino which were tiny and tasteless. The service was poor. The sides did not come until halfway through the meal, it took three requests to get a glass of ice and forget about a second cup of coffee.
Waiter Matt was excellent along with the rest of the staff
excellent truffle mash potatoes, warm rolls and butter, fillet mignon, burgers. comfortable ambience. only disappointment was the signature strip house chocolate cake was dry and stale. the waiters were so busy that night i didn't have the heart to ask them to take it back.
GREAT BAR AND GREAT STEAKS AND THE BEST CHOCOLATE CAKE EVER
The service was over the top. Our first time there and very impressive.
Only criticism is the parking. It was raining and the parking is all the way in the back. Extremely unfriendly. Need an obvious entrance in back.
Definitely will come back
It should have been enough to warn me to leave when we arrived and the parking lot was completely full and the sign for valet must have been a movie prop as there was no valet in sight. We had to park all the way I. The TJMaxx parking lot. We had a reservation and still waited almost a half hour to be seated. There were a few large tables in the dining room. The noise level was fine. We were just 5 people and it took over an hour between apps and dinner. Food is very expensive and some of it didn't even come out hot. That is completely unacceptable at a steak house that brags about the quality of their char. Not great for what you pay. It's NYC prices but really nothing special. Complaining got us a free dessert that took another 20 minutes to arrive. Won't go back. The only reason I could recommend dining here is if you are staying in the hotel, without a car, and on a corporate expense account.
We had lobster bisque, salad, and chateaubriand for two. IT was done to perfection. HIghly recommend.
Celebrating a anniversary and this was the perfect place! Brian our server was absolutely amazing, friendly and knowledgeable. Will definitely be back next year!
I never write reviews, good or bad. But this is a place people should know about and avoid. They have the most overpriced wine menu, incredible. E.g. $15 bottle for $50 - and that was low end. Food was fair. My filet mignon tough, if possible. Also, it was covered with some very spicy rub which wasn't mentioned on the menu and I had to cut it all off. Meanwhile there were no salt/pepper shakers on the table. The shoe string onion rings were an over-salted, breaded absurdity with no onions. This spoonful of skimpy strings was described as the side coming with the steak. We were told our order would take about 1/2 hour to prepare. This was steaks and potatoes at a steakhouse! The tables are a strange height. There's no insulation if you sit by the windows - cold. Avoid this place.
Find out if there is an event in the hotel before eating here...
There was a wedding in the hotel that afternoon and everyone from the wedding congregated in the bar afterwards. This created a ridiculous line at the bar (over 10 minutes standing at the bar and not once did one of the 2 bartenders offer to serve me); even the servers had to wait a long time to get drinks. After 10 minutes I moved to a bar table with my wife because she had flagged down a server; he took our order and it was another 15 minutes before the drinks appeared. When we finally sat down at our regular table in the dining room, the wait staff STILL had issues getting drinks for us and the other couple dining with us. Overall, it took 1 hour from the time I entered the restaurant until all 4 people at my table had a drink. That is absurd. The food is nowhere near good enough to tolerate that sort of delay.
Service and pace of meal was a bit off. We didn't receive menus upon seating and were passed menus from the neighboring table. Dinner course took a while to arrive and was not super hot. We ordered a Chivas and soda and were charged $23 for 18 year old McCallun scotch that was used. It was a birthday dinner. Overall meal was fine, but nothing special. Strip House in Las Vegas was much better (food and experience).
I normally do not write reviews no matter how bad or good a restaurant is. This was the worst steakhouse I have ever been to. The owners should be ashamed for taking money from customers. I will not even go into detail about what we were served. We returned our original meals because we may have been chewing on rawhide strips. We also ordered medium rare. Steaks were slightly over cooked but could not chew them. The second set of different types of steaks were just as bad. If you are going to charge NYC prices please give me Prime steakhouse quality. Sizzlers had better steaks. Even the lobster Mac n cheese was like soup. Service was ok. They charged more for drinks than stated menu prices. After my experience I mentioned it to some friends that had the same experience that I did. Stay away. Again if you are the owner of this place it is criminal for you to stay open. For the public's sake please close your doors now.
NY strip Steak was tough. Dessert was mediocre. Mash Potatoes were good. Disappointed in food quality. Would not go back.
Excellent as always. The food and the service are the best, which is what keeps us coming back.
The decor is fun, sexy, and dramatic. The service is wholly lacking. Our glasses (both water and cocktails) were empty for gaping amounts of time. We literally had to walk across the restaurant to get our waiters attention. The steak was good, cooked as requested. The million layer cake was a bit too dry for my taste.
Right there with Ruth's Chris but you really need to enjoy overpaying to get the complete experience.
$98 Porterhouse for two was sized for small. They had no sour cream for baked potato. Manager was very nice and apologetic but in the end the $200+ tab for two was not worth it
I have been here countless times but this time the steak just wasn't up to par. I don't know why, I am hoping it was just an off night. They had a special lobster mac n cheese which was delicious. The bacon and the tuna tar-tar were as good as always
I will be going back
Great food and service, great atmosphere. The staff was great.
