I had eaten there before which was very good. This time? We were there for over 3 hours. Our entrees took over an hour to receive. And the food quality was below par. One dish had to be sent back because it was cold. Other meals disappointing.
Very accommodating for 90th birthday!
Attentive service and great food and drinks.
Highly recommend the octopus appetizer, and the veal chop. First time there for our wedding anniversary, loved it!!! Great atmosphere, service and food.
Good service , good food . Level of noise a little bit hi !!
The food, service and ambiance was excellent. The cost is worth it.
I had a wonderful Cavalli with broccoli Rabe and a lot of sweet sausage. The portion was excellent, and I will have another meal of it later. Our waitress, Teresa, was superb. I also ha a semifreddo dessert which was luscious and loaded with pistachio.
Great selection of drinks -- the ones we had were all delicious. The pasta dishes we ordered were all very good (cavatelli, agnolotti, gnocchi, chicken/fettucine). We received very good service as well. Sat inside on a Saturday afternoon and it wasn't crowded until we were leaving.
Our experience was outstanding as the food and service was exceptional! Danny went above and beyond to make our experience fabulous - cannot wait to come back!!
My brother and new wife were visiting from Texas. All 4 of our entrees were delicious and well presented. Dessert and cappucino also great. Wife had the Filet Mignon, I had Rigatoni Bolognese.
Food and service were exceptional. We will definitely be back to dine again.
We showed up slightly early for our reservation and were immediately seated. Our reservation was for an outside table by the water, when the rain started our seats were swiftly moved to a beautiful view by the window. Luis was our waiter and made AMAZING recommendations from wine to the sauce in our entree. He was prompt and courteous when our glasses were low to refill them. The (assumed) GM came over to thank us for choosing the restaurant and make sure we were comfortable. The food was outstanding and came in perfect portions.
Our entrees were:
Appetizers: Lobster ravioli w/ vodka sauce
Main course: 10oz filet minion med. rare with fresh roasted garlic clove on the side and fettuccini Alfredo with duck egg.
10oz filet minion and truffle fries
Bottle of Bartenura moscato Piedmont.
Highly recommend Strega as a great restaurant just steps from the water and views of the beautiful Boston skyline.
We were celebrating a birthday and had a lovely table for five in the corner and although I had asked for a quiet table, it was far from that. The man at the nearest table was loud and boisterous and made it extremely difficult for us to talk. The food was very good. We shared a generous and delicious arugula salad. My chicken piccata had a creamy yummy sauce. The pasta was served on the side and I would have preferred it under the tender chicken. The two steaks were more than generous. The only flaw was that one was supposed to be rate and it was not. The waiter should have checked that. Lots of good drinks too
Great food and good ambience, will visit for dinner again.
Great experience. Our server Sarah was exceptional!
Celebrating an elderly woman’s life.
Danny is the MAN!!!!
Had a great experience, our server Danny was amazing would definitely ask for him next time we go
Had a terrific meal, in town for work with my boss. Best cioppino I ever had!
My family of 4 adults had a terrible experience!! We were visiting from Philadelphia. The concierge at the Ritz recommended this restaurant. It was HORRIBLE!!!!!! The hostess sat us at a table in a small room with a very loud party of teenagers. It was not the ambiance we expected. The waiter was good but server was horrendous! My husband ordered the chicken parmigiana pizza…he took one bite and ended up with a mouth full of PLASTIC GARBAGE!!! So disgusting!! My daughter and I ordered linguine with clams…half of the shells were empty!! DO NOT GO!!
AMAZING! Food, service, and ambience were all fantastic!
Great service . Great food.
This used to be the best place on the waterfront. Not so much recently. The food was okay nothing like it used to be. The quality of the food seems to have gone down but the prices are still very high. The service was good. The view is obstructed now with a new building and lots of construction. It's just not the same. With so many great places to pick from I don't think I will be back anytime soon.
Been there a couple of years ago with a friend and it was great! Came back with husband and son and was excited but it was disappointed! Food was not good, except for the meatball and the ribeye! Husband linguine al vongole and was just ok, pasta overcooked and kind of sticked together! Gnocchi with short ribs wasn’t as expected.
First dinning experience in Boston. Every restaurant in town has tough standard to keep.
Great food and wine list - favoring Italian.
The place was amazing. I highly recommend going at least once. The food is great and so is the dessert.
Danny as great.
Our server was outstanding, so nice and knowledgeable, and didn’t rush us to order. He could tell we were bunch of ladies who had not seen each other for awhile, He seemed to know exactly when to come over. That food was excellent!
Anniversary. Food was definitely not as good as it had been before. Kind of a bummer for our anniversary
Our appetizer was inedible it was so 9vercookex of reheated, our entrees took over an hour to be delivered and my vegetables weren't cooked. Would not return.
The food was amazing and the quality was great. Our server Danny took care of us so well and always made sure we had anything we needed. They made sure the night was very special.
Went to Strega for a good for and drinks on a friends recommendation and wasn’t disappointed at all! Danny (the waiter) was amazing and we will definitely be back to have him wait on us again. The restaurant felt comfortable and not stuffy but also upscale and we had a great time. Thank you to the staff and especially Danny!
The food here is not the Strega that you remember.
Disappointed with the fried calamari appetizer. Meatball, in contrast, was delicious. Overall, our meals were good to very good, but not great, and not as good as I remember from prior meals here in years past.
Amazing hostess, was able to rearrange to accommodate another person last minute on very busy night and was incredibly sweet and kind!!
It was a great meal…..a little pricey but very good!
During our visit, the restaurant lost power. The staff thought quickly on their feet and we had an impromptu candlelight dinner. We paired the Italian seafood dinner with wine and had a great night out in the Seaport. Definitely recommend.
Service did not meet expectations based on the locale and prices.
Great atmosphere, good food and great service!
I haven't been to Strega in a while and I don't know why. We had a great dinner and the restaurant has a great atmosphere. Service was a bit spotty with long periods when our waiter was MIA but I chaulk that up to lack of help, which they are working on.
I will be back soon!
