   We sat at 4:45, the restaurant was fairly quiet but it took awhile for our server to come. He was attentive after that. Delicious cocktails and the endive salad was great, as were the scallops, perfectly seared and seasoned. My partner had the cod and it was a beautiful presentation. He loved it! We couldn’t stay for dessert, but overall it was a lovely evening. Thank you!

   For the second time this was the second worst meal we have ever had the first was at the Woburn location!! The service was awful, we got there early the hostess who had NO personality told us to have a drink at the bar she would get us…45 minutes later my date went to ask her if we could sit & she acted as though she was waiting us!! It was downhill from there our waiter took forever to take our order we were already on our second drink from the bar just wanted to order our food!! The oysters & Misto were good, my veal Milanese was tough on the thin end & raw at the bone, my boyfriends sirloin was cut in 3 pieces?????? One was cooked how he ordered it the other 2 well done!!!! It was awful the manager tried to apologize but it was a disaster & a disappointment!!! I will make sure I never send anyone there neither will my boyfriend who works at a hotel in Boston & is constantly asked where to go!!

    My wife's Swordfish reeked of anchovies. he found it almost inedible. Our guest's Italian Wedding Soup was very slow coming. The server disappeared after we had finished eating. The noise level made it difficult to talk. On the other hand, my wife's lobster tail was excellent. My bolognaise was very good. The scallop and meatball appetizers were excellent. We enjoyed our meals at Strega in the Seaport much more than last night's dinner.

    We liked our drinks and the Italian wedding soup. The bread was good but the oil was terrible. The broccoli rabe was so bland. We tried to eat as much as we could. We were not going to mention anything to the waiter but he asked and I think he could see from what we left and our face that it was bad. He kindly took it off the bill. We got our main courses. The chicken picatta had zero flavor and the chicken was this humungous breast that had skin on it. The rigatoni bolognese tasted like a stouffers lasagna. Which I will get from time to time but not what I would expect from the description and the restaurant. The leftovers were not worth taking home or even talking to our waiter about. So we pretended everything was fine. It was not his fault. Those cooks need some help quick. Upon leaving the hostess did not even wish us a good night. Bartenders should get a raise! Excellent drinks!! We should have listened to the reviews that said it was not worth the money and to go somewhere else.

    Hate to write a bad review as I know all businesses are trying really hard but this wasn't great. Drinks and apps very good, service slow and scattered, entrees pretty basic with no flair and this is an expensive restaurant.

    The table we were given was right but the server area and supper small. There were 4 of us at a tiny booth. 2 of my guests are 6 plus feet tall. The place was empty

    We were seated in the back room so service took forever and we felt disconnected from the restaurant. We received our appetizers before our wine. I don’t typically complain but they should let you know to request a booth when booking otherwise it’s a poor experience.

    For our Valentine's Day weekend dinner, we decided to try Strega Back Bay. It was the first time we'd eaten there, having eaten at their Woburn location twice. I felt it as a slight uptick from the Woburn location, which I learned later that night had closed a couple months ago. My wife had a very enjoyable dinner, beginning with aracini, and a delicious sauce, even if I thought the lemon flavor in the sauce was a tad strong. For our entrees, my wife had their delicious ox tail risotto, while I had the veal osso bucco dish. For dinner, shared a piece of chocolate cake with caramel and a number of different texture that made for a nice conclusion to our meal. Our cocktails and wine were perfect, from the espresso martini that I had, and the Bella Luna cocktail my wife had, and we each had a glass of Chianti with our entrees, which were a strong match. The service we had during the night was that perfect mix of being there when you needed something, while giving space for my wife and myself to have a very enjoyable dinner. By the time we left, our dinner had run close to three-and-a-half hours, which was a superb pace for such a nice evening. With the Woburn location now closed, I can see that my wife and I will alternate every so often between this location, and our favorite restaurant, Sorellina.

    First time I went here it was good. So much has changed since then. Definitely didn't like the new method applied to the meat and cheese board.

    I must say it was a great experience at Strega Italiano. Started with Nathan new GM at the front door greeting me and welcoming me, then he came over multiple times to see how everything is. I sat at the Bar and Darwin as usual is exceptional and not only took care of me but the other people at the bar and the bar tables. He was on top of his game greeting literally everyone and taking care of their needs. He always makes sure you are taking care off. Darwin is a major asset for Strega and is really good at what he does. A must stop in place when visiting Boston.

    We came for my brothers birthday. We did some apps which were fine. The octopus was a bit slimy-er than expected. Not much flavor. It was the entrees unfortunately that did not meet the standards. My husband ordered the Cioppino, he is a seafood lover and knows what to expect in a dish like this— he rated it a 5/10. Not worth the price point at all, a disappointment. My brother tried to get the strip/ribeye and they had neither so he settled for the filet mignon… they didn’t have gremolata and served it to him with just asparagus because the other options weren’t up to par/not worth it. He was not happy and I instantly regretted booking this reservation. The drinks were good. The desserts and coffee were nice. Our bill was about $600 and the first text I got after the dinner was: that was not worth it. A birthday fail. The staff was nice though and the space/area was good. I do feel that after the fact we deserve some kind of reimbursement in any way… our first time at Strega and unfortunately our last. Also, just checked the receipt, we were charged for a lemonade that we never got because they were out. So our waiter apparently wasn’t attentive.

    I must say with Darwin being back behind the bar and the new asst mgr./hostess was a sweetheart, my Strega experience was awesome. Darwing was on top of his game as usual and made awesome recommendations the food was outstanding from the start to finish. Again, Darwin is an exceptional employee to Strega. I would make this a stop on your next trip to Boston.

    We were visiting Boston and told this was a great place to dine. After being seated, our waiter didn’t come for 20 minutes! A server helper brought us water but that was it. Our waiter was engaging, entertaining and enjoying his other two tables, but we were completely forgotten about even though he had to walk passed us multiple times!! There were only four occupied tables in the restaurant. The food was underwhelming. It may have been different if I was able to engage in more than a 20 second conversation with my server. Will never, ever go back!

    I love Strega Italiano and have been a regular for the past year and half. Not sure what changed but I must say the food was very disappointing it was bland and not up to the Strega standards. I hope this Chef can figure it out.
