Great brunch spot grab a bloody, mimosa and an omelette!
Excellent brunch with a Louisiana flair. We came 2 PM in a Saturday and were seated immediately regardless of reservation. Food was excellent with good value portions.
Great!!! Loved it... food was delicious!!! Well visit again!
Food wasn't good, service was slow. I would not go back there nor would i recommend it
Food was great, we felt bad because there was only one waitress for the entire restaurant at 9 pm on a Friday night but she was attentive and friendly despite being obviously very busy. Would definitely return.
Overall a great meal and experience as usual. Felt bad for the woman working as she was the hostess, bartender, waiter and food runner. She was very friendly and great, but felt bad that she was overworked on a pretty packed Sunday brunch day. The management needs to hire more staff.
very good cheesesteak
Very nice place for brunch. Enjoyed the space and vibe. Food was very good
Food was good; had the buffalo cauliflower as an app and the buffalo sandwich for my meal and the person I was with had the crab Sammy. The cauliflower could have been crispier. The service was a little slow but the server was extremely nice
Yummy food, small but cute atmosphere- still quite comfortable despite the small size! We will be back for sure, especially on nights where we have have theatre tickets, this place is right next to the Forrest.
Arrived with a friend on a Wednesday night at 6. Perfect bar atmosphere. Warm, intimate lighting. Busy without being loud. Great selection of affordable beers on draft. We tried 5 between the two of us, all were great. Onion rings were strangely battered, but overall good and plentiful. Good table service. Our candle kept blowing out and our server was kind enough to keep relighting it for us. Had a great night, looking forward to visiting again.
Steak sandwich and burgers were both fantastic! Very friendly service and nice atmosphere. Will definitely be returning soon.
Always love this place. Came here for drinks as a first date and managed to come back for dinner to celebrate a year later. Always classic, never fancy, but exactly what you want. Big fan
Had a good time. Food was very good. Noise level was a little difficult to carry on a conversation. Would definitely go back.
Actual hours of operation do not match Open Table app. Made a reservation for 10AM. Restaurant was not open at the time...
Excellent casual spot before theatre. Attentive service.
Strangelove's was in the right place at the right time and we enjoyed it. They have a good beer list and nice wines by the glass. Service was terrific and the food was fine. We particularly enjoyed the buffalo cauliflower.
You should fix your bathroom door. When I was there 4 people were walked in on cause of the lock not working. Great food though!
Very average food and poor service. Would not recommend. There are better restaurants in the area
This reservation was for dinner before going to a play at the Forrest Theater. Our table was ready and waiting for us, even though the place was packed. Our waitress, though very busy as it appeared she was the only one, promptly took our orders and got us out off there in time for our walk to the theater. Food was good and plentiful. Drinks were reasonable, as we were there during happy hour, but had to have our check adjusted for that. The place is narrow, so the tables were very close. It was a noisy and we had to talk loudly. Patrons were considerate and friendly.
Food was excellent but short on staff. Solo server for dozens of customers. Dirty dishes remained unpleasantly piled on 6 tables throughout our meal while an Indian manager did nothing but ask the server about the dirty tables a couple of times. Why didn’t the manager just pitch in and help the overwhelmed staff?? The manager poured himself water but not for nearby customers and he didn’t even offer new customers menus until customers asked him. His lack of effort was bizarre. The managers lackadaisical behavior was striking to the entire restaurant. Server remained calm and pleasant throughout. We gave her an extra tip for her composure in a difficult situation.
We have been to Strangelove's many times over the years due to the craft beer selection and reasonably priced, vegetarian-friendly food. However, the quality has gradually deteriorated over time. The beer selection, which used to be a strength, has become rather boring. And the food was less than mediocre. The crab cake sandwich and veggie burger were both lacking seasoning. And the side salad served with the crab cake including rotting cherry tomatoes. We did enjoy the happy hour vegetarian nachos, which were a bargain and very tasty. Unfortunately, this is likely the last time we will go to Strangelove's. There are too many other options in Philly.
We went here before seeing a show at the Forrest Theatre. Although the vibe definitely that of a bar, the food is much more creative than typical "bar food," and it is very reasonably priced. The staff were all very friendly. I would go here again.
A bar with very good food. Had the crispy Brussels sprouts, buffalo wings and firecracker shrimp. Convenient to the Forrest Theater. Excellent value. Terrific friendly service.
They were out of 3 different beers that we ordered and because of it we only ended up getting 1 beer during our meal. Service was slow and the room was super loud. I won’t be returning.
Very friendly staff, great food
It's open setting. You do not need to use OpenTable to get a seat.
Good experience overall. Pleasant and considerate staff. Brunch menu had interesting selections. Food was tasty, not as “Cajun” as I thought it might be.
I was looking forward to trying several of the delicious sounding dishes that were listed on the Open Table menu for Strangelove’s but when arriving was very disappointed to find that all were missing. The menu had been pared down to a very basic bar menu with most items I had come to try removed. My friend who has to eat gluten free had almost nothing to choose from and left restaurant still hungry. My order of roasted brussel sprouts was very tasty and the chickpea on pita was delicious and very generously portioned. No dessert was available. This is a nice place if what you’re looking for is a popular bar with good bar food, but I had been directed to it via a site that was recommending restaurants to visit before attending Hamilton and I was looking to much more variety in menu on this evening. Open Table’s menu should be updated to reflect the correct foods available so that customers can have the option of choosing a restaurant that fits their taste.
Strangelove's does offer delivery in partnership with Caviar.
