This was our first time and yes we would go back but here are some suggestions that would have made our experience even better. The tables for two like many restaurants were small. When you add your entree, bread, bread plates, oil for the bread, wine glasses, water glasses and a bottle of wine; you can feel the over crowding at the table. My wife had a problem with the Tortellini in vodka sauce. Though it tasted great the sauce was filed with minced garlic. My wife has a problem with raw garlic had to scrape garlic off every piece of Tortellini. Hopefully next time this dish can be prepared without the minced garlic like she has had in hundreds of Italian Restaurants throughout the years.
Food was excellent with many delicious gluten-free options. Service was outstanding with great flare. However, the noise was overwhelming. Some noise absorbing tiles would help the experience. I still highly recommend it!
My wife dnd I dined here on a Friday evening, having made a last minute reservation
Staff are so friendly and attentive to our needs.
We shared the Tuscan figs as an appetizer, to die for!
We also shared s large grilled Greco salad, enough for two,
I had the duck and my wife had chicken piccata. Both well prepared, served hot, along with risotto and veggies
Split a Chianti Classico with dinner and the Chocolate flourless torte as dessert.
Would definitely recommend this place
Our dining experience was great. We were celebrating our anniversary. The food was excellent and the staff could not have been better. They made us feel very welcomed. Love this place.
Exceptional food and service. It was almost like being In Italy. My only reason for a slight downgrade was the wine list “by the glass”. The reds were mediocre at best and a poor match for the wonderful food. Too many very good, inexpensive Italian reds to offer such a poor choice when a full bottle is not fitting.
Food was incredible! Would definitely recommend to others that are visiting Asheville.
It was the perfect choice for our group. We had one gluten-free friend who was nothing short of delighted at the array of gluten-free choices she had in an Italian restaurant. Everything we ate was delicious--between the five of us, there was gluten-free fried calamari, those amazing figs they have, a grilled Mediterranean salad, a veal Picatta, chicken Picatta, surf & turf, tortellini a la vodka, and a gluten-free penne dish. And the house made bread...so fantastic! Tiramisu, gluten-free chocolate torte, and mango gelato finished off our evening nicely. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable, ever-available without being a shred of annoying. Go to Strada.
Great food and great service. Anna was our server and she was pleasant and attentive without hovering. A major plus! The breakfast pizza looked to be the best choice although everyone enjoyed their brunch entree. We'll definitely return!
Good Italian food at a reasonable price. Service was excellent and the food was hot when delivered to our table.
Wouldnt change a thing. Food was fantastic and Sarah was always there for us!
Variety of dining/drinking areas within the restaurant; outside is nice. Lamb shank could’ve been braised longer - fat was not perfectly rendered. Pizza and pasta dishes were just okay. Star of the meal was the local cheese plate with house made accompaniments... was both a bit surprising and disappointing because we were in the mood for a good Italian dinner.
Our party of 4 all agreed the food was as good as what we had in Italy.
Excellent food, excellent service!
The food and staff are fantastic. My food allergies were met with wonderful food choices. So I could enjoy dinner with my out of town friends
The food was outstanding and trust me that's saying a lot as I'm from Staten Island NY some would say the meca of the Italian food restaurants.
The service on the other hand was mixed. Server that brought the food was great but the main waitresses was a bit off.
Just great Italian Food. I had the vegan pasta with vegan sausage. It was amazing.
A nice little Italian restaurant in the heart of Asheville. We were fortunate enough to get the one table that looked out a window onto the street, which made the dining experience special!
Awesome anniversary dinner! Highly recommend the calamari, grilled caesar salad, cannelloni primavera, and tiramisu!
Fabulous! Great wait staff too.
We greatly enjoyed our dinner at Strada! Mercy waited on us and was both very knowledgeable about the menu and generous with her recommendations. I had the duck and was dazzled by it. My daughter had the prosciutto and fig pizza, which was yummy, too. We shared a calamari appetizer, which had a delicious dipping sauce and was spiced just right. I highly recommend Strada!
We had a great experience. Our server was great and the food was excellent! We will definitely be back
Really great food, fresh and simple done very well. Server was outstanding. Best espresso I’ve had in a long time.
I was very disappointed in this restaurant. Food quality was poor; my Lasagna was bland and not very hot. Even though we dined at 1pm, they told us we couldn't order appetizers from the lunch menu, like Calimari. They kept referring us to the brunch menu. I would not go back, and don't recommend it...much better restaurants in Asheville!!
We are very sorry to hear you were unhappy with your lasagna. Had we known any dishes were unsatisfactory we would have happily replaced them for you. We serve lunch Monday-Friday from 11am-3pm and on Saturday & Sunday we serve brunch from 11am-3pm. During those times we are only able to serve dishes from the menu provided. We hope we have the chance to recreate the experience for you if you choose to return. Thank you for your feedback.
Service was a bit slow but food was excellent.
Delicious food. Very loud, slow service. Still would eat there again.
Strada is always a surefire win! Full meals or artisan pizza are well prepared and flavorful.
Food & service was outstanding
The food was delicious, the menu varied enough to meet our dining needs, and the wine menu wonderful as well. Our server did a great job even though the kitchen was somewhat slow.
Because it was the start of a holiday weekend having a reservation was a necessity! Strada even made our anniversary special by helping us celebrate with a delicious dessert on the house.
Online, the menu looked great. In person, the menu looked great. But the cooking isn't as good as the menu writing. The Grilled Caesar was not grilled - just a wee bit brown at the edges and slightly warm; the Grilled Ravioli were possibly grilled, but they were also tough and dry. Our biggest problem, however, was not with the food, but with aspects of their advertised care of food allergies. One of our guests is severely allergic to gluten and dairy. There is a gluten free part of the menu (thank you, thank you!), but our guest unwittingly ordered a dish that contained dairy, which was not listed. Now the server marked the diner, correctly, as having a dairy allergy (thank you again!) and the kitchen was on the ball and did not include the dairy ingredient (thank you, thank you, again!), but the waiter had no idea why the pasta dish did not contain the sausage (which contained the unlisted cheese). The result was that, happily, our guest did not get sick, BUT the waiter made three trips to the kitchen to find out what had happened and identify a substitute, all while our dinners were getting cold. The server was lovely, concerned and willing to do whatever was needed, but he had not been trained adequately, or one could say the menu did not have enough information to support the claim that this is a restaurant that offers trouble free meal for folks with serious food issues.
Thank you for your feedback. We take dietary restrictions very seriously. We believe the dish your guest ordered was the Vegan alla Nona, which does not contain any dairy but the pasta and the vegan sausage does contain gluten. We were able to modify this dish for your guest to ensure they were able to enjoy their meal worry free. The back and forth between your server and the kitchen was to find a substitute for the vegan sausage in the dish. We apologize if that was not communicated properly.
We were in town for one night and we love Italian. It was fantastic! Our waitress was from Argentina. I think her name was Lydia (sorry if we got that wrong) and she was stellar - a true example of what a great waitress should be in a great restaurant. She recommended a nice wine to accompany the food that we wanted to eat and she was spot on. The short rib bolognese was excellent. We also ordered a side of meatballs which were incredible- rich and veal forward. Thanks for a great meal! We will be back.
A little slow service at the beginning but they seemed a little short on staff, our waiter was knowledgeable and personable. It was a Tuesday but ended up being pretty darn crowded. Had the veal picata and it was excellent, others in the party were also impressed with their food.
Fast and great service! Food and wine excellent! Love the atmosphere!
Our waitress Morgan was excellent-articulate, knowledgeable about the choices, professional and friendly. I always add salt to my food, but my entree of duck was so tasty that I did not even think about it. Out friends praised their veal entree. Filet and shrimp was a hit, as well.
We were seated upstairs in the back which we liked because the place was packed.
It was expensive but worth it! And there are lower priced options on the menu. We will be back 💜
a very enjoyable meal. A good reminder that modern Italain cooking need not be dominayed by pasta. Our server (Mercy) was very pleasant and attentive.
Started with the mussels in white wine sauce which was very good. Also enjoyed the figs stuffed with goat cheese wrapped in bacon and the fried risotto balls in a yummy tomato cream sauce. The star of the show was the delicious short rib bolognese. Strada and Social Lounge next door have the same owners. They make some great cocktails
Amazing pasta! Charming place. We will definitely be back when we are in the area.
Strada's is one of my favorite Asheville restaurants. My lower rating is a result of the food being served at room temperature. The waitress was very pleasant, attentive and did a fine job.
We were in town for a quick weekend and tried Strada based on other reviews we saw and were so glad we did. The food was absolutely amazing, as well as the service. We will definitely be going back here again next time we are in town.
Truly authentic Italian food. Outstanding service and friendly, casual atmosphere. Best Italian place in Asheville by a mile.
If you are looking for Italian food downtown then check it out. Not the best Italian food that I had but was good. Unfortunately we had a very wobbly table. When it was fixed it was still on a slant and my husband red wine glass spilled all over. The staff was great and they where there with towels and clean up the message with broken glass. Our service did bring a new glass of red wine and club soda so I can get the red wine out of my dress. So now we enjoyed ourselves and laugh over the wine.
