Stout's Trattoria at Grape Creek
We are able to accommodate groups up to 12 guests, and we take reservations all through the week except Saturdays 11am-5:30pm. Please note Grape Creek's property rules on Saturdays. https://grapecreek.com/saturdays-at-the-vineyard
The food and service were amazing! The Sunday Brunch is definitely worth trying out!
Beautiful setting, great food and service. My favorite vineyard in Fredricksburg
We enjoyed our meal, but thought the food was overpriced for what it is. Even with our Grape Creek member discount it was pricy.
We had the pleasure of having both Tiffany and Morgan provide the food and wine service and as always they were gracious, courteous, and extremely knowledgeable.
The servers were pretty pretentious and not friendly. They seemed put out by us. It smelled bad in the restaurant. There was a very loud party in there when we were there, which I think it's stated on the website that they don't allow parties larger than 6 for tasting. The food was okay. It was annoying that you had to pay two different tabs, one for food and one for alcohol. And you could only drink sparkling wines if you are a member. They allowed reservations up to 7:15 but you can only order food until 7:30. Not worth the trip
Always one of our best dining places in Fredericksburg, when we visit.
Lovely spot to have a quiet lunch while travelling through wine country. Layout is very reminiscent of Italy, but restaurant is very modern inside. Friendly staff for both food and wine. Excellent food. Need to come back when the weather is warmer and we can enjoy the patio.
Beautiful setting with good food & nice service. Understand the business is all about signing club members but that was a serious put off. The place feels like one big commercial.
Excellent food with outstanding service! Definitely will return again!
Our server was so disconnected!! Lunch took 1 hour and 15 minutes!! She was the worst waitress ever!! Andrea I think her name was. Took our order and we did not see her for 45 minutes. 3 tables that came in after us all had their food by this time. She finally showed up and said it was being plated. 10 minutes later she came with our food. I had the chef special. Scrambled eggs with a filet. The eggs were hot but tasteless and smothered in Hollandaise sauce. The steak was over done, I had asked for rare to med. it was over done no pink! We were told that the steaks were cooked in a separate kitchen. She asked us if she could treat us for dessert. We told her sure. Another 15 min and the worse creme brûlée ever!! So as not to have to put up with her we gave her our credit card as she brought dessert. We just wanted to get the hell out of there!! I have been to the Trattoria many times. This was the worst time. Be a while before we come back.
All was tasty as always. A little slow in service but worth the wait.
Pick up wine
Their pizzas cannot be beat! Just great. Only thing that’s a bit weird is how you have separate waiters for wine and food. But a great place and very pleasant waitstaff.
Amazing food and service! Overall great experience!
We are members here at Grape Creek and I have always wanted to eat at the restaurant. So...we made plans for our anniversary to go for dinner. It did not disappoint. The grounds are beautiful, the service was spot on and of course the wine and food were superb. I seriously cannot wait to go back again for another visit. If you haven't been there or tried their wine...you are missing out. Make it a priority on your next visit to Fredericksburg.
Great food, salads were crisp and fresh.
The pizza we ordered was baked extra crispy, per our request.
Service was attentive, with out being intrusive.
The Food was Great. The service could have been better but it was late in the day and very hot. I would still go back.
We love this place! Great people, great service, great food!
We have been eating here for 5 years and we absolutely love it. The waitstaff are friendly and attentive and never rush you. We consider Stouts to be one of the most fabulous places but were we in for a true opinion when we asked our friend who has a place in Italy to join us one afternoon. From the moment we turned into the drive leading up to the Winery she says "oh, my, this is unbelievable, it just like Tuscany" and as we toasted, she kept saying, "this is the best place she had been so far in Austin."
Y'all got saddle up and see this winery and top your visit off with eating at Stouts.
Oh, by the way, they now have a sparkling winery; tasting daily too. Just so you know, no children allowed below drinking age.
Excellent food and service as always.
Birthday celebration. The owner is onsite and greets and seats you. Outstanding food and service. The wine is great too!!
The trattoria is a regular destination for our monthly trips to the hill country. However this time, the line to the hostess was long and slow; and, there was no clear effort to attend to guests with reservations. Once seated, the ordering proceeded normally; however, the server did not check on us for an extremely long time and we had to ask another server to locate our server. The food arrived at the same time as the server - 45 minutes after our seating. The food looked and tasted great as usual but seemed to have been sitting (not hot) undelivered, perhaps. This is not our usual experience at the trattoria. I’m sure this was only an anomaly and not a rift in the normal space-time continuum. A second experience like this one would have us looking for another venue.
Most of time I have a 5 star experience. I love the views, the server Ivan, and the variety of foods and the presentation for brunch was spectacular. I was disappointed to pay $13 for a sparkling glass of wine I only drank 1/2 of, I wasn't informed it would not be my wine club discount. But, I realize that is Grape Creek and not Stout's. I LOVE Stout's, I joined Grape Creek wine club because of Stout's! And GC wines are great as well. Love most of the wine stewards too.
This was our first visit and we will be back during our next Fredericksburg trip. The alcohol portion is run by Grape Creek Vineyards and the food portion by Stout's restaurants. We were seated by Jason Stout, one of the owners, and on his recommendation ordered the Stout's Special pizza. We both grew up with top notch pizza in the northeast and have typically been underwhelmed by pizzas in Texas. This was the exception. The dough and other ingredients (especially the deli pepperoni) were unique and memorable. Quite possibly the best pizza we've had since we moved to Austin 1975. In addition, the setting was tasteful and elegant, and the service was good.
Food was good but not worth the price, would have liked to see more choices on the menu. Also with being a Saturday night, would have liked to see the restaurant opened longer.
Wonderful atmosphere and the wait staff were fabulous!! Definitely a do over very soon. Thank you
Great scenery, excellent wine, and fantastic food!
We arrived with reservations and were seated and were told that they could not serve us because one of the girls had exited the uber with a hard seltzer, which she promptly threw away. Our friend told then that she was fine with not being served but they would not serve any of us. We were dressed appropriately and acted fine. We have never been treated so poorly. I wish I had read the Yelp reviews. If you are considering this winery, please read the Yelp reviews and reconsider. We heard all over town that GC is known for their poor treatment of customers and they only treat their members with respect. We were disappointed to say the least.
Beautiful location and views. Food was delicious. Wine was spectacular. All staff incredibly knowledgeable. It was a wonderful dinner and we will be back.
Food is wonderful! Both Ivan and Joe Gonzalez were very attentive servers. Wine steward also! The shrimp and grits is a MUST! Pizza is always a sure bet also.
Such an enjoyable experience. We are quickly becoming regulars at Stout's and at Grape Creek. Their food selections are very well prepared and tasty ... and the Wine; Wow...we love it. Highly recommend.
One of our most favorite places to go and to take friends. The waitstaff is always outstanding and the food has never let us down once. Not to mention the great wine that comes along with it ;o)
Was a great setting but the food was overpriced and not great.
Food and service are always very consistent. Ivan is the best too. He is a very good at what he does and great personality.
The location was beautiful and the wine was delicious! Food wasn't that great --we got spaghetti with meatballs and an overcooked/burned lasagna. This place would be best for a wine tasting/snack, not full on dinner. The pizza looked nice.
This was our first visit to Stout's even though we don't live too far from Fredericksburg. The winery is really beautiful, the location great. We didn't do a tasting but enjoyed a meal in the trattoria. It's a lovely place with great views over the vineyards. When it's not 96 degrees outside, sitting in the patio would be fabulous! The not-as-good as expected part was the service. Our wait person was nice enough but disengaged along with a sense of not really wanting to be there. We did manage to make her smile, but for a higher end place, one expects top service. There is also a separate wine advisor who visits the table and takes drink orders. It's a nice way to have someone fully educated on the beverage menu, but it also requires two separate people and two separate transactions. Only other minor complaint was that the avocado toast with eggs was served a room temp. Meh. Flavors were great, but I do prefer my egg on the warm side. The shrimp and grits were incredible, and my husband's panini was great...along with the homemade chips. Both the regular menu and brunch menu read very enticingly. The prices are high end, but now that F'brg is on the map big-time, that's expected. Overall, this is a great place and I'd go back probably for a meal, but definitely to sip some wine on the patio!
Always a special time
It seemed like the Mediterranean salad was smaller than normal and the dressing wasn't quite up to par this time.
The service was also a bit slow at first but then got better.
Always an amazing experience here....
The food and wine were great. I had the steak and it was very tender. My husband had the lasagna and said it was great. The blueberry creme brûlée and coffee was a wonderful finish. It was a little noisy when we first got there as a large group was dining, but they were finishing up and leaving. We had a 7 PM reservation which is probably the best time for a quieter dinner.
