Stout's Trattoria at Grape Creek
Our wine sommelier Kaitlyn was outstanding! I gave a 4 star because the food services was a little lacking.
They have separate alcohol servers and food servers. It was 40 minutes before our alcohol server came(at a vineyard). Our food arrived before our drinks. It took at least 30 minutes for us to get our check after we asked for it. The food was good, but the service was so bad we wouldn’t go back.
The food and wine service personel were warm and welcoming. Our dinners were all very good.
Our Waiter was great! Lots of fun to talk to, knowledgeable on what foods are popular!
The wine server didn't know much about the wine that was available. She simply provided us a paper menu (a copy of what we were viewing on our phones already).
Was a great dining experience! The chef was outstanding & came out personally to check on our special dietary needs! We were three couples - all vegetarian. He did his best even when the kitchen was about to close!
Chef was very accommodating!!
and excellent and catered to our vegetarian options.
Wine choice from there yard exceptional!
When they promote the trattoria they show pictures of the tables looking at the vineyard, but when you book an "outdoor" table they sit you in a cover patio looking at the restaurant salon, even when they have all the tables available in the open space. Total disappointment for me that wanted to dinner looking at the vineyard. Food and service were good, but doesn’t worth the money.
Food was absolutely delicious. We ordered the margarita pizza and shrimp florentine. Wine was perfectly paired with everything we ate.
Beautiful setting but the food was salty and/or over-seasoned. Three of us all had different dishes and felt the same way - the shrimp florentine, the blackened tuna, and the seafood risotto. Stick with the pizza. The rendezvous was delicious, and it's worth paying the upgrade fee to get the better prosciutto, otherwise it comes out looking like bacon bits.
As regular Stout customers for lunch, this was our first time to have dinner. My wife and I had Shrimp Florentine and the Surf and Turf special. Both were delicious, cooked perfectly. We enjoyed their meatball appetizer and cheesecake for dessert.
Stout’s has done a very good job of modifying their dining experience to fully comply with the evolving Covid regulations. Masks are required to enter and whenever you are not seated at your table. Tables have been re-spaced to generously comply with 6+ foot distancing requirements. We chose to sit outdoors which was very comfortable with the overhead ceiling fans and the gentle prevailing breeze coming off the vineyard.
The meal was accompanied by Grape Creek wines. Because of the special Covid regulations, Stout’s is not allowed to serve you wine but they will sell you wine by the bottle that you can then open and pour at your table. A minor inconvenience but very workable and allows for full compliance with current Covid regulations.
The staff are friendly and efficient. A great experience - highly recommend for lunch or dinner.
Not a good place for dinner - lunch and snacks only.
It was a great experience. It was a little hot on the patio but hey it’s July in Texas. The cheesecake was amazing!
Beautiful setting, great company, and great service.
Stunning and beautiful property and restaurant overall, but a bit disappointed in our overall experience, sad to say. Our waiter did not come to our table until about 20 minutes into our visit. Not sure he knew our table was assigned to him. The wine waiter did pay attention promptly and did take our wine order.
Although my meal tasted very good, it was served barely warm. Seemed like it had been sitting out too long before served to us? Not sure. I just kept thinking I wanted to microwave it because it was close to cold. I’ve never had an experience like that before. We are used to frequenting upscale restaurants and so temperature issues were unexpected.
My husband’s pizza was underwhelming, he said. He said he just expected much better quality. His stomach hurt that evening.
So while the restaurant is definitely a beautiful place, we were disappointed with the service and the food temperature & quality.
The food was delicious, the wine was smooth, the service was polite and timely, the environment was relaxing! I can't say enough good things about my experience!
The wine and food was great! We ended signing up for membership.
Dinner was great. We had two servers, one for dinner and one for wine. The dinner server was great and on it. The wine server, how are was not so great.
Overall a great experience. We sat outside, where it was quiet and peaceful. The food was great, but a little pricey for what it was. Our waiter was very kind, but a little unprofessional as he rambled about issues he had with other tables and in the past.
Great food and wine. Food and wine sales are separate, so you pay separately.
Our drink order was taken automatically but no one ever came back to us for our food order for an hour. Then when we finally ordered it took even longer due to a kitchen issue. Table of four, two meals were comped but by the time the food came we couldn’t even eat it because we were already so upset with the service. Not a good experience for a place that is so highly priced.
We had hoped for a winery restaurant that showcased their great wines and complemented with a nice meal for (4).
The menu was underwhelming.
We ordered a cheese plate, pizza and meatballs
the pizza was really greasy and soggy
the meatballs were ok but nothing special
a separate 'wine expert' took our wine order. She didn't seem to know much about the wine and made some inaccurate statements about the wine in question.
I wouldn't recommend the restaurant to any of my friends.
i was very pleased with the experience. the service as well as the food were good. it was a very welcoming environment overall.
Love this place. My husband and I have been here a few times while traveling to Fredericksburg. The food is good but I will say that I wish the selection was bigger. That’s the only negative thing I can say about the place. Good value and all around great ambiance. Wine is delicious. The service is always phenomenal here! Will definitely come back!
Beautiful venue. Food was okay. Not a lot of variety and taste was just okay. Overall a little disappointed.
The wine was good and the salad was amazing - love the lemon dressing. The entrees were just average. Overall it was fine. Better place for lunch in my opinion.
Not recommend for food; pizza is okay. Flys in dining room a real turnoff.
The steaks were excellent and the service always over the top. Of course the wine is superb!!
My 40th birthday
The service was awful. You could tell she did not want to be there at all. When you spend $54 each x 4 for steak at those prices you should get great service. I had to get up and get my own water. Ryan was the only one that stepped in after I made a comment to him.
Food was good. Service was decent. We were under the impression this would be a fine dining experience and it was not. It’s a casual hangout spot / pizza parlor.
Our waiter was great, his name was Tristan. Tristan was very attentive, hard working, and very accommodating. The atmosphere was great, food was also very delicious
Wine, ambience and service were good. Food selection, quality and price average to poor.
We were sat in the blazing sun for dinner, asked to move but said we weren’t allowed due to Covid. 3 tables behind us in the shade had no customers. Sat in the sun trying to eat salad and a pizza. Owner of restaurant came by and sat down to see how things were and immediately said, would y’all like to move to the shade, this is ridiculous to be sweating and trying to eat. He moves us with no issues.
Hey buddy it was nice seeing you again. Yeah, I broke the rules because you looked super hot ... We have been hammering the new government rules into our employees to avoid being shut down. Sometimes they don't make sense but happy I was there to help out -
It was a wonderful romantic dinner. The food was amazing!
The wine was great, but food was average. Our waiter was super friendly and knowledgeable of the area. While dining outdoors during the summer months is challenging given Texas heat, we weren’t prepared for the amount of flies while dining.
If your looking for a place to dine with excellent food, great atmosphere and an outstanding staff and some of the best wines you will ever drink then Stouts Trattoria at Grape Creek is the place to go.
Overall our expectations were much more that what was provided. Was not impressed at all
Enjoyed our pizza with our amazing Grape Creek wine. Looking forward to dining there again soon.
