Server was nice, but refused to bring us water. We asked twice. Told us we had to go the bar for that. We were dining. Not just doing drinks and apps. The manager was the only one who didn't mind getting us water. It just didn't make sense to me. I "could" have gotten my own water from the bar. But why? How hard is that. I am in the service industry btw.....so I understand what busy looks like.
Wonderful quaint environment, quick service without rushing us, excellent chicken & waffle (jalapeño chips in the waffle PERFECT spicy kick)
Stout is great for football games. The brunch menu is small but pretty tasty. Our server was fantastic.
The experience was pretty bad overall. After seating ourselves, it took forever for a waitress to come by. Once she did, we were ready to place our food and drink orders. My husband went to the bar to get our waters because she never brought them. When she did bring his coke, she didn't apologize for the delay or even acknowledge that he had to get our waters. Our food (ribs/chick and waffle) was mediocre at best. When she asked how we were enjoying the food, I gave an unenthusiastic "meh", to which she replied, "Great, let me know if you need anything." We won't be going back,
Waitress was nice and responsive. The food on the other hand was not great.
The best restaurant in Seattle, in my opinion. Always have a fantastic time here - with delicious food and delicious craft beers. An amazing place.
the tv and sports were loud but it was a nice place
I made my Easter brunch plans at Stout specifcally for their Waffles. I checked the PDF menus online the day we went to make sure they were still on the menu. I had been thinking about these for WEEKS. When we got there they were no where to be found. I asked my server and he said they had been removed from the menu 2 weeks prior. 2 WEEKS yet I had seen them online this morning. I informed him of my disappointment, and he said sorry, but they didn't serve them anymore. 1) Who takes waffles off a brunch menu and 2) their website was wrong. The manager came over to see me, and talked down to me like I was crazy. I told her I could bring up the menu, but she walked away before I could show her without apologizing. Additionally they didn't have their online bar menu was also incorrect and the selection day of they didn't even have everything either. I was left with my last choice in selections. The burger I had wasn't worth the money the only good thing on my plate was the fries. The place was totally empty for being Easter brunch, clearly they are doing something wrong and the Waffles and costumer service were just the start. I would not recommend this place to anyone.
Friends birthday! Love coming here!
Good experience overall but waiter was really great guy that made it an even better experience. The pretzels were outstanding.
Good spot for a casual get-together/happy hour with colleagues or friends. Plenty on-street parking spaces.
Great food and cocktails!
First time there . Service was excellent . Food was great .
We made a reservation. Opentable accepted and confirmed. I called the restaurant to confirm (just to be safe) but they didn't answer, even though I called 4 times. We showed up to the restaurant and the sign said "seat yourself". There was no hostess to help us. I approached a waiter, to ask about how we get our reserved table. He told me he didn't know, and that he would get the manager. Time went by, we saw him walking around and never got the manager. I approached a waitress. She told me "we don't even take reservations". I asked to speak to her manager, so she went and got her. The manager came out and I explained the situation. She offered no apology, and told me that she had blocked off that time for the football game. I explained that it clearly wasn't blocked off on opentable, as we got a confirmation email. She still offered no apology, but did offer for us to sit in a darker room off to the side that looked like they only used for private parties. It was clear we would be forgotten about over there, since no one was being apologetic or helpful in all of this chaos (and we were already forgotten about by the first waiter we approached 10 minutes prior), so we declined the offer to sit in the dark side room alone and left. We were then stuck on Capitol Hill at 8:30pm on Friday night with no reservations. The manager should have offered us a drink at the bar until a table cleared up, or an apology at minimum.
One of my favorite restaurants and bars in Seattle.
Terrible service. It took 25 minutes to get the coffee I ordered for brunch.
Took my mother and my wife there for mothers' day. You might not think of a pub for such an occasion, but it worked out nicely. They both loved it. Very nice brunch menu. Try the doughnuts. We are going back at night for pints. They have an intriguing line up of beer choices from many taps.
Great atmosphere. Staff was very friendly. Sports playing on well placed monitors without feeling like a sports pub. A hybrid of a great meeting spot before a full night of events, as well as a place to enjoy a full night of dining. The overall impression is that it appeals to a variety of expectations at the same time. Not easy to do.
Great food, beer, and atmosphere! Met with some friends here and everything was very tasty. Service was great as well.
Had a fantastic group brunch here. Service was a little slow because they seemed to be understaffed but the server/bartender was very friendly and very helpful. Food was great, wasn't too busy, and they had a great bar area.
Good rotating tap selection makes for good choices in beer to accompany the meal. The availability of Fried Chicken and Waffles is an interesting twist along with the more upscale style for burgers and bites.
Large portions for the Fish and Chips despite some smaller cuts for the fish, all around a fun place to go to with friends or to grab a bite. Friendly helpful staff has always made the place enjoyable.
Great small plates and delicious drinks. The staff was kind and service fast. The corn dogs are a must!
Took my family to Seattle to celebrate Christmas with my Sister and the entire family. First off, I have to say that the overall ambiance was spectacular. Really a cool, hangout. The staff was second to none. Our server was helpful in navigating the menus items and recommended the Tots. Yes is said it: Tater Tots. They were the moats spectacular Tots I've ever had and that I'm sure will ever have. That's how dinner started.
I ordered the fried chicken, yes, fried chicken at a pub. It too was astounding. My daughters had the morning after burger and the brisket sandwich, both of which were exceptional. When going to a pub, I usually don't expect much when it comes to food. Beer on the other hand has to be exceptional to get my attention. The food, the beer and the environment were great along with the service and value, I have to say that over all this was an exceptional experience at an equally exceptional price. Paul, you really knocked this out of the park!
Good Sports pub on the hill. They do not take reservations via Open Table on Game days. Some of the staff didnt seem aware of this and incorrectly routed us to the Open Table website. Glad we showed up early to get a table!
Otherwise a fine experience.
Mediocre food and very slow service even though the place was almost empty. Bartender finally took pity on us. He was great.
both of us had the crispy chicken waffle. was not at all crispy and tasted like it was reheated from a box. yuck! took forever for us to get the bad food. not many people inside so not sure why
This was a bit of a hit-and-miss experience. They were out of the first 3 draft beers we tried to order. Then later they were out of a bottled beer as well! Still, we enjoyed the beers we did get. We were also a bit shocked to find out that the "mustard sauce" served with pretzels was basically just yellow mustard. However, we enjoyed the queso sauce and our entrees. I don't think we will be in any hurry to return to this place since there are so many better options nearby.
Ordered the burger, medium rare, and it came so charred black that it was almost impossible to chew. All the food was very dry, tasteless and burnt black to a crisp. They put the tomato on the bottom of the bun, which made the bun soggy and fall apart the minute you picked it up. Overall, gross tasting and who wants to eat hard, dry, burnt meat? The brussel sprouts were also cold, dry, burnt and chewy, like rubbery tires. No thank you, won't be back and not worth the money. It's a cheap knock off of The Ram, but plunked in the hipster heart of Cap Hill. #strange
Nice space, and food was good. We went on a Wednesday night so the noise level was not bad, I'm sure Friday and Saturday's can get pretty.
This place has good food but they have some work to do. We had made a reservation for a large group about a month in advance. However, once we got there they were not ready and there seemed to be only one waitress waiting on the entire restaurant. She did a fine job taking care of all us but it took an exceptionally long time (we're talking long time to even place an order/get water). Also, it was pretty disappointing to hear that she was talking badly about us to the table behind us (she wasn't aware that they were actually our friends too).
Overall, if you're with a small group and it isn't peak busy time, you could go and enjoy a good meal here. Otherwise, you might want to look elsewhere.
Byurgers great and same for salads. Both looked and tasted fresh & original with the right proportions.
Enjoyed the beer selection and my wife's marguerite was super.
Our server was somewhat casual and dis-interested. Took longer than expected to get drinks to table.. Otherwise perfunctory, but hey, we can get that style at Burger King.
You had ONE waiter for lunch! ONE waiter to seat people, take drink and food orders, make drinks, serve drinks and food, etc.
Really? I liked the ambiance and the food was tasty. But, if you are worried about your profit margins to this extent, I must eat elsewhere.
Sausage corn dogs...yummy!
