Storm Rhum Bar and Bistro Ratings and Reviews
Would highly recommend this as a stop in downtown Asheville. Loved the atmosphere and concept of the rum bar. The food was the best we had all week. I had the beef coulotte and my husband had the wreckfish..both were excellent! Also nice that they have a parking lot where parking is difficult in Asheville.
We had a great dinner!! This was our second time at Storm and we were just as impressed as our first visit. 6th wedding anniversary dinner date. The waitress was super friendly without being overbearing and the food was delicious on all fronts. We will definitely be back.
It seems to bill itself as a "bar" but Storm Rhum Bar has delicious interesting innovative food served by an intelligent affable wait staff. Don't let the seating scare you off - the tables and chairs are all old and just a bit rickety - the food is so wonderful you will forget what you are sitting on.
We had dinner on the patio and enjoyed a beautiful evening with phenomenal service. An excellent cocktail and beer selection. We enjoyed the special (NY Strip) and seared scallops. Everything was perfectly cooked. Perfect portion sizes. We will definitely stop here the next time we visit Asheville.
Storm seems to be promoted more as a bar and not so much as a great place for an innovative delicious meal. We had small plates - Shrimp & Grits (not your everyday - kicked way up several notches), Octopus, Tuna, and Duck Leg (and thigh) Confit. All were tweaked into deliciousness. Service is smart, sharp, and pleasant. Wine list is a bit lacking, but the bar drinks go on and on. Decor is past shabby chic into shabby. Have to search for a non-wobbly chair. But the food it worth it.
We had friends in town for the weekend and thought Storm was the perfect restaurant for their Asheville experience. Excellent crafted cocktails and a well-rounded menu made the dining experience perfect. The wait staff is top notch as well! I love this restaurant for so many reasons......the food and cocktails are a given, but it is one of the few around where a group of old friends can have some meaningful conversation.
The food was good. I had the beet salad and pork belly small plates. Enjoyed both. Other friends also enjoyed their meals. However, our server was miserable and made us feel like we were bothering her. That was enough to not outweigh the good food and pick another place next time I'm in Asheville.
Love Storm Rhum. I had the Petit Filet with fingerling potatoes and mushrooms. It was delicious and cooked to perfection. My two friends ordered the hamburger and both loved it. One ordered medium well and one ordered medium rare. Both were cooked to order. We also had the pimento cheese appetizer and the warm brownie with strawberry ice cream. Yummy all around. Service was attentive and very personable. If you have t been there you need to put it on your list
