Great food. Awesome environment
Storm has always been one of our Asheville favorites. The selection of rum and other cocktails/liquors is outstanding, as is the menu, which is inventive and mostly locally sourced. We never go there without ordering the chicken liver mousse -- silky and delicious, with yummy house made pickled accompaniments including jalapeños. All four of our entrees were wonderful -- from a small plate of beautifully seared scallops to a succulent duck breast to an excellent hangar steak and perfectly cooked swordfish. The service was impeccable, as usual, and a great time was had by all.
This was our first time to this unique venue. Great ambiance and interesting decor held our focus. However, the food left much to be desired. We knew the menu was a short list of items - all the more reason why the options should taste GOOD. We had the chewiest filet I've ever had; it was not satisfying at all. We ordered the mac and cheese app - which is an odd app that came with no plate to eat it on. The brownie was like cake and could only eat half / it was blah. Decent service! Friendly and attentive. The restaurant is in a convenient location. It was a cold winter night when I ate there , but it appears they have outside seating as well.
Good experience - good service, good food, nice environment. Overall a very enjoyable experience.
Good and drinks
We @MetroWines LOVE Storm! The decor, the service, the drinks, the cuisine and the parking exceed expectations!
The food and service (ALL working here) have always been top notch.
We enjoy the friendliness of everyone and always look forward to our next visit.
The ambiance is also warm and inviting....enhanced by the lighting and
candles throughout. Great job, Storm! Brad & DeeDee
Under loved in Asheville but still very good!
My husband and I love Storm and tell everyone about it.
This particular night there was a group in the dinning room that one person in particular was quite disruptive and boisterous. This is of no fault of the staff at Storm, just one of those things I suppose.
Also, I had the swordfish, which I have had before, however this particular night it was over cooked.
All in all it was kind of an off night at the restaurant but this was just one night.
Overall our experience at Storm has been FABULOUS!
This one night will not change the fact that this will be our go to spot in Asheville for great food.
Our server was very attentive & knowledgeable about food & cocktails! there was lots of 'happy noise'-- the ambiance was cozy & warm.
The only issue was that the online menu didn't match the in house menu. Several items were not available. While i had to change my choice of fish dish from Mahi Mahi to swordfish, i enjpoyed my meal very much.
Went for Asheville restaurant week and wasn’t disappointed. Butternut squash soup and mackerel toast was well done and tasty.
Petite filets were done perfectly with great taste.
Definitely go back
Nice atmosphere, friendly and efficient staff along with delicious food combined to make a memorable birthday dinner . I would highly recommend this bistro.
Good service and good food. Noise level is high but we knew that from previous visits. Handled allergies very well
Loved all of it! I went for the Monday $10 burger and beer- fantastic! I wish I had discovered this place earlier! It had a fun rustic atmosphere and great service :)
Food is always very good, consistent, great service, warm and cozy. Neighborhood Gem
One of our favorite date night spots. Awesome atmosphere and creative menu. Devil’s Oasis is an incredible drink! Can’t wait to go back.
Cheeseburger, fries, and a beer for 10$!!!!!! Wow
Storm exceeded most of our expectations. The meal was reasonable for the price-point and due to weather, Storm was not very busy.
The only criticism we had was the choice of table. We ended up in the corner near 2 windows, resulting in most of the party being cold. If it had been a big deal, we would have asked to be moved and I’m sure Storm would have been willing to re-seat us.
All things considered, Storm was overall a pleasant experience. Definitely worth repeating.
Our first visit, and we will definitely be back. Our party of 4 had reservations (Open Table), and we were glad we had them. Inside is a huge, curved bar which curves around the partially open kitchen, and was full during our entire stay. Dining tables occupied the left half, and had a very cozy, inviting atmosphere. We were promptly seated by a friendly hostess for our 6:30 PM reservation, and over the next 30 minutes, all tables were occupied. Most of the patrons looked to be in the below 40 age group so the bar atmosphere was vibrant, and the dining area fine for comfortable conversation. Our service was excellent and friendly. The wine list had a limited number of by-the-glass selections, and our server couldn't provide any tasting notes, but did offer to let us try any. A good list of local craft beers is available. Judging from the size of the bar, and the array of bottled spirits behind it, I assume any mixed drink or cocktail would be available. The menu was divided into snacks, small plates, and dinners. We had a snack (3 cheese macaroni with bacon, and roasted jalopenos which was delicious), then shrimp and grits, and goat cheese filled gnocci with fennel sausage, leeks and topped with a fried egg. Both were excellent. We ended by sharing the warm brownie and ice cream, on chocolate ganache and peanuts. I was particularly delighted to find that French press coffee is available, both decaf and regular. There is lots of outdoor seating, so I feel this will be a great choice also when the weather warms. We will count Storm Rhum Bar and Bistro now as one of our favorites in Asheville.
Really enjoyed the food, service was good but due to the spacing of the tables (way too close to each other), the server had a difficult time reaching over us to serve another table.
