Storm Rhum Bar and Bistro
We really enjoyed the restaurant. The service was great! And the food very good and interesting!’
Good and service was excellent
food and service was very good. Nice and relaxing meal and then had a very good desert.
Great food great service great ambience! Loved it
We waited over 20 mins for someone to wait on us after we were seated. We finally had to flag someone down-the table next to us had the same issue. The food was mostly forgettable and two of us had to reorder because the chef had removed the items from the menu mid-dinner service. Waitress never offered to get us drinks. Would definitely NOT eat here again.
A number of mouth watering options The pork chop was fantastic. Our server was personable and knowledgable about the offerings
Food was fantastic. Service was slow though
Great pimento cheese dip! Service was excellent. Drinks were top notch
Great wait staff. Get the Devil's Oasis. So many levels.
We return here year after year when we visit Asheville! Great time and food. Only recommendation is that you have fall/winter menu & cocktails out by now.
Food, choices, service all excellent! Great location !
Always a fantastic dining experience at Storm Rhum Bar. We come in Everytime we are in Asheville!
My first time here. Our waiter was great and down to earth. Atmosphere was pleasant. The seared scallops were wonderful as well as the cheese plate. I like how some flights are all ready put together but the rum to choose from is amazing. I only wish the names of the shots were labeled a little better, not just scribbled on paper. It was Saturday night so it was crowded and very noisy. Overall I would go back. Enjoyed it very much
Cool spot for ambiance, but that is where it ends. Had the halibut tonight and it was extremely salty and overpowered the fish. Had fried ricotta for an app and the presentation was great, but tasted like a hush p,not ricotta! My husband had the ribeye. The kale was again salty and the side potato was charred on the base. The desserts were good on the plus side again along with the atmosphere. Service was disappointing! Will not be coming back.
Love this restaurant! Very close to local bars in downtown Asheville. The ambiance is great for a date night, but the bar area is also great for a quick drink. The food is very well-seasoned and the parings with the veggies and flavors are great. The chef does a great job of plating the food so that you get all of the flavors together as well. The servers are knowledgeable and it was very easy to make a reservation and we were quickly seated. Loved the experience!
Everything was great. Nice small setting, great service, and excellent food. We both had different fish entrees and they were delicious!
We will be back.
Always a great choice in Asheville! Happy to return again.
The ribeye was outstanding, exceeding many steak houses both in flavor, tenderness and attention to cooking temp (medium rare was perfect). The smoked mashed potatoes were a unique twist in a positive way. The Kale and/or potatoes were a tad heavy on the salt, but that was the only noticeable downside. The burger was also delicious, with simple, understated flavors that let you know it wasn't a run-of-the-mill burger. The ambiance was nice with suitable lighting and thankfully the background music was at a reasonable volume (audible, but not dominant and forcing you to speak over it to have a conversation). Our server was fine overall, but a few lapse periods where our drinks were waiting at the bar for several minutes but she was not around to deliver. The second time my wife just went to the bar herself to get her diet coke that had been sitting there. We noticed a lot of servers hustling to and fro, but it was odd that we never really saw them tending to tables in our area. Regardless, it wasn't horrible service, and the quality of the ribeye will definitely make me go back the next time I'm in town.
Great music playing in the back ground. Chef was a little heavy handed on the salt
The new owners haven’t missed a step, still an excellent restaurant. Several additions to the new menu are great. Of course, the originals are still there. A nice bonus, there’s ample parking right across the street, for the restaurant. Check this restaurant out, it’s great.
My husband and I ate here last night! It was amazing! From start to finish! Don’t miss the appetizer scallops and the main entree of shrimp and grits! Off the charts delicious! We will definitely be back on our next visit to Asheville! So yummy!
Lovely outdoor seating. Great service and food. Creative cocktails.
To be fair, appetizer, drinks and server were good. Burger was raw in the very middle, so we sent it back. While we waited, we shared the other entree (steak, mushrooms and beans). The steak was very over-salted but edible given we were starving. The beans were almost uncooked and inedible. When the new burger came out, the entire middle was so under-cooked that the raw ground beef was falling out of it. It looked so disgusting that we gave up after that. Server was clearly embarrassed and told us the regular chef wasn't there. Guests at the next table told us they'd seen another customer send food back. Was surprised that a "nice" restaurant only comped the burger and not the entire meal.
Best dinner we have had! The food was amazing!
Birthday experience for my best friend
You will not want to hear this review.
The waiter Tyler was so rude to us, not once but a few times. We left without being served our drinks after 38 minutes of waiting.
Good food & service . Waiter recommended a couple of specific cocktails then when we asked about one after it was received he said he had never tasted it. Disappointing as drink was not good.
Food was excellent. Service was ok. i ordered the grilled pork chop. My husband got the fillet. Our service was so slow to get our wine to enjoy with our meal. I had to stop eating my meal and wait to get glass of wine ordered to go with my meal.
Perfect as always
Ask for Emma. She cares about your experience. The food is always amazing here. The filet is beyond amazing. We are a red meat eating family and we all like different temps- we all were pleased. Chef knows what he is doing. Eat here.
One of my favorite restaurants in Asheville! Especially love the grouper entree. Warren (our server on several occasions) is great and a pleasure to chat with.
The food was melt in your mouth amazing. Loved the ambience!
Your server was great. The food was really good. I like the fact that you are in a location away from all the downtown chaos plus you have parking on site. Nothing worse than a 1/2 mile walk after stashing your vehicle.
We ordered the PEI mussels for an appetizer. We thought that this dish was great, but it needed more grilled bread. For my main course, I ordered the ribeye, medium-rare. The steak was cooked well, so it seemed dry. I also believe that the chanterelles on the dish should have been sliced (somewhat), instead of being served whole. I know that chanterelles are chewy, but the ones that I had were rubbery chewy. The waitress ask me how it was and I say 'ok.' She didn't ask me why, which was odd. I would have sent the dish back, but I was dining with others. I loved the potato gratin that was paired with the steak. I spent a few minutes studying the way it was prepared. The heirloom tomato and pickled ramp jus were fantastic.
P.S. It's ok to slightly under salt the dishes, because all my dining companions mentioned the saltiness of their main dishes.
Rhum was great, both food and atmosphere.
My 3 brothers and I all agreed that this place was definitely a keeper. Service was excellent, as was the food.
This was such a good "find" for a Saturday evening dinner. The restaurant, with open kitchen, has a cool industrial vibe. There was both indoor and patio seating. Lots of wood and hard surfaces, so the noise level could be high.
The menu had a very good selection of Starters, from salads to mussels to fried green tomatoes. Entree choices were also varied, with beef, pork, chicken, lamb and veggie dishes. Everything looked and tasted fresh and delicious, and serving sizes were substantial.
Our server, Warren, was engaging and knowledgeable about the menu. We had one of the cocktail specials--the Blood Orange Margarita. Be forewarned that it is very spicy with jalepeno, but it was delicious.
There was no room for dessert, but again, the offerings appeared to be very tempting.
Menu is small and excellent. Service was impeccable.
A great place that is mostly locals. Escape the tourists!
Drinks are excellent!
Anniversary dinner. This place was so incredible.
Our waiter was very busy, he had gotten triple sat and even if we didn’t hear him mention it to the other tables, it was obvious. There were also a few other tables that seemed to be waiting a log time for drinks and food as well. I ordered a glass of wine when the cheese plate arrived and we were done eating it by the time the glass finally arrived.
My order of a MR Filet was good, but I would not order it again. Besides from my Filet being spicy, it had a black, hard sear to it that I scraped off with my butter knife(because a steak knife never arrived as the server suggested he would bring). I normally order MR Filet everywhere we go but this one was more Rare and burnt on the outside. I ate 1/2 of it but didn’t care to take the rest home.
My husband ordered the Burger and he said it was extremely salty, and he is a sale lover!
This is about our 5-7th time here and the worst yet. Not sure we will be back after this visit, there are just too many wonderful places for us go that are more consistent. Sorry!!
