Lovely setting, excellent service and food. Gets noisy until about 1:00 or 1:30 and then it's fine.
The food and service were fantastic and the room is beautiful but the noise level was a bit too high.
Very lovely environment for lunch/brunch. The food is good -- reliably so. The menu has excellent options and I appreciate that there are options for vegetarians.
Going to this restaurant on a Saturday night is just great. Because the Museum is closed, people don't realize that the restaurant is open. Not crowded...food is very good and a quiet noise level so you can have good conversations.
Was a great venue for an early brunch (11am) with an out of town friend and her daughter. The setting is wonderful, big, bright and cheery, and has a good brunch menu. As we arrived early, was empty and very quiet and filled up quickly as brunch progressed but remained fairly quiet considering locale.
I would highly recommend it for all ages.
Wine was priced too high as were past main dishes (one was$24).
Our server, who was our barista at Storico last time, is a real gem. So thorough, detail-oriented and amiable.
I dined in Storico after an evening lecture so the crowd was modest. The room is informal and bright with a very high ceiling and a spacious feel. Even so, the noise around the bar was substantial. Service was warm and helpful. The food was creative but the interesting ingredients, while fresh, did not always meld graciously. Portion size was a bit on the small size but not unreasonable. Three of us enjoyed 2 courses (including one beer) for about $45/person.
Too noisy. We liked the food, the service and the location but we had to shout at each other which was no fun.
Always positive experience- very aware noise level awful till 2- so that didn’t change
Good service and good food in a lovely space
The room is gorgeous, and the food quite good. I had been before, but wanted to bring a friend because the two of us are trying to experience museum restaurants and cafes all over the city. We had some dietary questions, and our waiter, Deo, took them all in stride. He went back and forth to the kitchen to ask about ingredients, and was able to give us the information we needed. We would return in a heartbeat. Oh, and do visit the museum as well.
The food here is unusually good. Simple things are done interestingly. We keep coming back and as a neighborhood place it surpasses everything around it.
Good taste & kind service
Food was excellent. Unusual pesto, extremely fresh and light salad and budino for dessert was to die for.
Our waiter was a delight.
The space is very bright and very noisy.
Storico was a delightful surprise. It was the first experience there for me and a group of friends after a lecture at the Historical Society. The decor was light, bright, and airy with a very high ceiling, all of which is such a nice relief from the usual reclaimed wood and blackened hardware aesthetic so common these days. Likewise, the noise level was more than acceptable.
The food and drink were excellent - elegant, nicely presented, and reasonably portioned. The server and other staff were very pleasant and professional. All-in-all, it's upscale without being fussy or pretentious. Let's just call it adult.
Storico is our number one restaurant to go to whenever we attend an event at the Historical Society. The service, food and staff are the best
As always food was excellent. For some reason service was slow that night. Not sure why.
Perfect place between exhibits at the New-York Historical Museum
Very convenient, pleasant if you are going to museum or Central Park or as a neighborhood restaurant. Food good - not outstanding. Service impeccable.
I used to love eating at Storico, but I must say I was disappointed this time. The removal of the comfortable yellow banquette seating eliminated an attractive option and a convenient place to put one's purse/packages, etc. Also, the noise level was much higher than I remember, and it was difficult to have a quiet conversation.
The food was still good, however, and I'm sure I'll eat there again only because of its convenience when visiting the museum.
Fabulous restaurant -- one of my favorites in New York City
Much too noisy. Impossible to talk. Couldn't wait to leave because of the noise. I'll never go back because of the noise. I had a headache by the time I left. But, great food and decent service.
Dinner was delicious from beginning to end! Looking forward to dining there again!
Very nice, however there should be a soup selection.
This was our second time here within a week. It was pretty empty and the service was really good.
Always a hit. A beautiful space, with attentive staff and kid friendly, to boot.
Ordinary food convenient to Museum.Uninspired service
The risotto and small plates that we had for lunch were excellent, and our waiter was very attentive and helpful. The only downsides were (1) the snooty-but-gum-chewing maitre d', who was very much less than welcoming; and (2) the bread, which was cold, flavorless, and slightly stale. At $91 for two (with one glass each of house wine), one would expect better bread.
Delicious. Lovely. Great wine.
Service was horrible. We would like to speak to someone in charge there so that others do not have to suffer.
Good was good, if expensive. Service was straight up bad. We were the first ones in the restaurant by 20 minutes and hostess gave us tons of attitude about where we could and couldn’t sit. Would. Restaurant was totally empty. Later interrupted our conversation to move our table, which required all of us to stand up from the table, in order to make room for a bar seat that was vacant and no one ever sat in. Then we get the check and it was expensive for three people with no alcohol. Will not recommend.
I had to change the reservation multiple times. More people, a little later and they accommodated every single time without attitude or problems. We were having a surprise retirement party and more people wanted to come. The service was great. Drinks delicious and food was really good. I only take a star off because we were there for brunch and I wish they had something like pancakes or a French toast. Everything was savory, at brunch I like a sweet. I recommend Storico highly. The space is beautiful and the staff is wonderful.
We had a great experience for my Father’s 75th Birthday. We live in the neighborhood and this spot has the best Italian on the UWS.
It's convenient for anyone going to the museum as there's nothing else close by since Isabella's closed. In the past, I've thought it was excellent. This time a popular choice for lunch was deemed rather tasteless, and a couple of orders got mixed up, and it took about 40-45 minutes to get our lunches. So it was so-so.
We were three old friends for lunch (brunch) on Saturday and had not only a delicious meal but also a relaxed time talking together. Our service was prompt but never rushed. The setting is bright and beautiful.
Excellent location in the New York Historical Society. The service was awesome. However, the glass doors when we entered were so dirty we almost didn't want to go in. We were there 12:30pm on Sunday, so the brunch menu was in place. The yogurt was awesome... thick and creamy, topped with berries and granola. Beautiful and generous presentation. The lamb hash was highly recommended by the server, although there wasn't much lamb and the eggs were overcooked. Still, for what it was, we would return.
The food was very good, the service very slow, and the prices very high.
This is one of my favorite restaurants! I love the food and the ambiance.
Love this restaurant. Always delicious
