About Storico Fresco Alimentari e Ristorante
Storico Fresco has now fully morphed into a true Italian Alimentari e Ristorante that started in a basement in Atlanta …
We had a dream to bring traditional and nearly lost Italian dishes to Atlanta. The result: Storico Fresco Alimentari, quite simply an Italian grocery store and restaurant in one. We’ve gone beyond and created a true Italian experience for you to enjoy. We use locally sourced ingredients to craft our authentic dishes.

Storico Fresco Alimentari e Ristorante Ratings and Reviews
It's a nice place to eat. However, I'm conflicted when it comes to the food. I know the pastas are made in-house, which is always a great thing. That said, the pastas in general are somewhat insipide; they require a lot of salt. Once you add significant amount of salt the pastas are, for the most part, very good, especially the mushroom one. Hence, my conflicting opinion. If they just required a little bit of salt that would be OK but since they require so much I have to make this comment. One of my favorite dishes is pasta, I lived in Italy for many years, so I have a great appreciation for pasta.
As seen on the Travel Channel, most amazing lasagna ever. I normally don't eat Italian food outside of cities known for this cuisine but had to try after seeing the show on which Storico was featured. My friend had the tagliatelle bolognese and I had the lasagna. Pasta was perfect, bolognese was wonderful and lasagna had some crispness around the edges. Truly world class. High energy (noisy) place and not a white tablecloth kind of place. No matter, the food is the star. Full bar but I also saw some people brought their own bottles of wine.
This is absolutely our go to restaurant! We love the food options, everything on the menu is delicious. The owners and waiters make you feel very special. We have had a party of 2, 8 and 26. Fabulous dining experience. The Chef’s Table in the kitchen is a total blast. The food is definitely authentic Italian Cusine. Always fresh and a wide variety of pasta. Gluten Free options are available. The wine list is great as well as the desserts! The retail store is super and easy to pop in and grab our favorite dishes out of their refrigerator. Grazie Storico Fresco.
The food was absolutely spectacular. Delicious, flavorful, inventive and authentic Italian food. The noise level ruined the experience. We could not hear one another. In fact, the servers could not hear us resulting in an error (that they happily corrected). We left with full tummies but with ringing in our ears. I would return only for take out.
Friendly servers and hosts, excellent food and dining experience. We were a few minutes late to our reservation, but we were sat nearly right away upon arrival. Our server was knowledgeable, attentive, and helpful with guiding us through the menu. The food (meat/cheese board; meatballs; bolognese lasagna; something mushroom pasta) was absolutely fantastic. Will return!
It was our first time dining there, and the food was great. Service was very good as well. To say the noise level was "energetic" is a bit of an understatement. It was really quite loud... could have done with a little less piped in music. I wish they served the larger "quartino" glasses of wine for those who might be the only red/white-wine drinkers in the party. Those who would not be ordering a bottle no matter what.
Saturday was my third visit was Storico. Unfortunately things were "off" from the beginning of the experience. I fully understand confirming a reservation, but twice? I confirmed once by the reservation text system and then again via text message from the restaurant too. The bar is nice and has a good vibe. The bartenders were very attentive. Their attentiveness was even more appreciated when our party of 6 waited 50 minutes past our reservation time to be seated. It would have been better to not accept the reservation than to have a party wait 50 minutes.
The servers need a lesson from the bartenders as they were slow and, at times, I felt like we were ignored. I suspect they knew it because when the check arrived the gratuity had been added. It is customary for parties of 8 or more. I have never see this for parties of 6. To add insult to injury, the percentage was more than the typical 18%. I tip well when the service is good, at least 20%. I could have complained, but it was late, I was unhappy and I was ready to leave......
The first time I visited Storico the food was fantastic. The second time, I felt the quality of the food had slipped. On my third experience confirmed my impression from the second visit. When the food arrived it was warm as though it had sat awhile. At that point ,and it being late in the evening, I was glad to be served at all.
LOVED this restaurant - pasta was amazing. Did not give it top stars due to...... one of the noisiest restaurants we've ever eaten in. Concrete floors, wood tables, high energy - too loud. We are open to noise, but this was ear shattering level. A woman 2 tables over was screaming at her table mates - maybe they couldn't hear her, but we sure could!
If you go, you must order the grilled octopus antipasto - seems pricey, but well worth the splurge! We will go back, but will try an "off" night, not on the weekend.
Just visiting Italy this summer, I had high expectations for this authentic Italian restaurant. It has a nice casual ambiance, a variety of seating options and a selection of Italian goods to purchase.
For starters, we ordered the meat and cheese board. It was a nice sampling of 3 meats and cheeses along with some delicious honey and jam. This by far was the highlight of the meal. We also ordered the pork shank for two and pasta bolognese. The pork was tender and moist and served with polenta. The pasta dish was made with fresh pasta but lacked any depth of flavor. No depth or flavor notes to warrant a thumbs up. It left a disappointing note. The brussel sprouts and broccolini were a nice addition.
For the price of the meal in comparison to the dishes, we were left disappointed. It was overpriced for a taste experience of which would be easily superseded at home.
The waitress was pleasant and attentive and the atmosphere soothing. However, the challenge of traffic, parking, price and taste will not entice a return visit.
I’ve been before, the food is always good. But the service was just off on this visit. Took forever for our waiter to take our order, despite arriving early in the evening and being some of the first people seated. We ordered appetizer, salads, pastas, and mains, and told the waiter we would like the meal coursed out, but they brought everything to us at once. Except for certain dishes, which they unfortunately forgot to bring entirely, and we never received. The waiter was not to be seen most of the meal, and neglected to refill drinks. Disappointing to have this experience, but we do enjoy the food, so we won’t write this place off...yet.
Food was excellent with great attention to detail from the crispness of the bread to excellent olive oil. Cocktails creative and tasty. I had whole bronzini with fennel which was superb. Great place for a foodie but a little loud if you are looking for conversation.
