Storico Fresco Alimentari e Ristorante
We had a dream to bring traditional and nearly lost Italian dishes to Atlanta. The result: Storico Fresco Alimentari, quite simply an Italian grocery store and restaurant in one. We’ve gone beyond and created a true Italian experience for you to enjoy. We use locally sourced ingredients to craft our authentic dishes.
Went to dinner to celebrate my sisters bday, brought a 14 month old and it was a good time! Thought the noise level in the dining area was nice for bringing a child because their talking and hitting the table wasn’t too noticeable.
The quality of food was superb and comparable to everyday restaurant fare in Italy. The artichokes in particular were well done as this is extremely hard to do: almost identical to a dish I had in Trastevere. The menu selections are distintive without too many choices. Great job all around.
I have been there multiple times now and it is always amazing. The food, service, drinks were all 5 star! One of my favorite restaurants in Atlanta for sure.
Great pasta, all of the food was as advertised. The Caccio e Pepe is some of the best I’ve ever had. The pasta is thick and a perfect vessel for their sauces.
We really liked the food, especially the branzino. We think the wine was expensive.
The noise level was very high.
Noisy atmosphere. Wonderful, tasty food. My group thoroughly enjoyed their dinner.
The food was outstanding, but service was extremely poor. Would give it another shot if we didn’t have the same waiter.
I only try and dine in here outside of peak hours. The food is incredible but the atmosphere is not my speed. This is also a great place visit for to-go items like fresh pasta, olive oils, sides, desserts, etc. I continue to visit to purchase fresh pasta to make at home.
I went with a girlfriend Saturday night and everything was fantastic! I had the lasagna, she had the cacio de pepe and we split the squash blossoms. It was a fun night with a great ambiance, I'll definitely be back!
We felt incredibly rushed. As soon as we sat down, the server asked for our appetizer request when it was clear we had not looked at the menu. People on our table had not yet finished eating dinner and the desert menus were already being passed around. Check was put on our table while still eating dessert. If I am dropping a pretty penny at any restaurant, I don’t expect to be done in 80 mins.
We got there early on a Saturday evening and the place was mostly empty. 45 minutes later, the place was rocking. Not loud enough that our party couldn’t have conversations, but I would not want to be there on a quiet first date. Everyone loved their entrees and the shared appetizers. Drinks were plentiful and imaginative. We shared a desert and that was great too.
Great food! Menu has so much to choose from, and everything we ordered was well portioned, very tasty, and a lovely ambiance outside. Inside the noise level is "big" but we love the outside patio. Whole fish and salads are amazing.
Other than it being so loud I had to raise my voice for the person across, a very small table, to be able to hear me...it was great:)
We love storico and go there as often as we can. Many of our friends will not go because it is so loud. It is difficult to hear the person next to you talk. We won’t stop going but wish they would add something to improve the acoustics-ceiling tiles, fabric cushions, carpet on underside of table top, anything to absorb some sound. Even the 24 year old at our table found it too loud.
I would give Sorico Fresco a qualified "yes" as a recommendation. I held a business dinner here, and I will never, ever to that again. The noise level is absolutely excruciatingly loud. When we first arrived at 6:30, it was tolerable, but by 7:30, you're screaming to the person sitting next to you just to be heard. It's a shame because the restaurant vibe and food are terrific. But if you're looking to hold a conversation with someone, don't come during the prime dinner hours -- or ask to be seated outside.
Jennifer was the best waitress I’ve had in a long time! Thanks Jennifer for making our experience even better.
Great food and atmosphere inside an Italian market. We're visiting for the week and will defintely go back one more time before we leave for home.
Exceptional food. High quality ingredients well prepared. Exceptional wine value. Chianti was outstanding for the price. Friendly, efficient service. Highly recommend.
Our server was excellent! He pointed us in the right direction for everything. We had a phenomenal meal and brought some goodies home!
We waited for 20 minutes for our reservation. This is annoying because I went out of my way to make the reservation.
This is the best Italian in Atlanta. Completely unassuming, friendly staff, great wine selection and the pasta was unbelievable. This is our new neighborhood spot, will be back very soon!
We went on a double date for our first time at Storico. The service was horrible from the second we sat down. We waited 20 minutes before our server even came by to order drinks. Took another 30 mins for food order. Once we were finished it took over an hour for our waiter to bring us our check. It was a busy Saturday night and I expect a delay in some things but an hour for a check is unreal. The restaurant could have turned another table easily.
The food was great but that was about it. We had a reservation at 8:15 and we were not seated until 9. They did not have two dishes we wanted to order that were on the menu. My brother’s food came out so long before the rest of the food that he was finished eating before the rest of us received our meals. The waitress said she would comp his meal but then had to be reminded to remove it from the bill. The restaurant is so noisy it’s difficult to hear anyone at your own table. Also the chairs are very uncomfortable.
I would recommend the fresh pastas to a friend to buy for take-out. I would not care to eat here again because even though we were there early in the day the noise level was deafening! Did not allow for any conversation for me and my husband. Artichokes are my FAVORITE food so I was so happy to see them on the menu. They LOOKED delicious but had a terrible flavor and the taste of the artichokes was overpowered by a strange taste of strong, bitter lemon and oil. I will go back for some of the take-out options but will not dine in again.
The absolute best Italian meal in years. The service, facilities and food were top notch.
Food was delicious, service was great, and the restaurant was packed! Will definitely be back here to dine-in or for take-out from the refrigerated section.
Seated near the silverware area. The clinking and banging and dropping of the silverware was distracting and painfully loud at times. The wait staff was constantly moving immediately around and past my seat which added to the distractions.
We did ask for bread, but did not order, but were brought and then charged for another dish. It was three meatballs with sauce and cheese for $14. The waitress did not acknowledge the mistake or offer an explanation to why is was brought to us or why we were charged.
The entree we ordered was small and the pasta was ok. The sauce was good though. The three vegetable plate had mushrooms (not good at all), broccoli (decent), and cauliflower (best of the not great vegetables).
Overall, not a good value.
I won't be back and don't recommend it. Overpriced, not great service (speed or attentiveness), and bland, small portions.
Small deli and market goods area in the restaurant. Really nice food and service.
The food was fantastic but totally miserable because the noise level was threw the roof! Can’t recommend because of that!!!
I love the food but the service is consistently poor. Really bad. Tonight we were ignored, never received our bread even after asking three times and it took over an hour to get our meals.
Fresh pasta well prepared. Good wine list. Great service. Fun atmosphere, but pretty loud on a busy night.
Amazing food and atmosphere
Overall a very good experience. I took my team of 8 for a post-work celebratory dinner, and reserved about a month in advance. We sat at a long table by the front window. Food was outstanding; the team entirely agrees.
In our pocket of the restaurant, we literally had to shout over the din to hear each other. Quite loud.
Also, all told, with appetizers, entrees, and drinks we spent nearly $700, including tip. Quite pricey, but for an occasional work dinner on the firm's dime, worth it.
Great food, great staff, good prices! Pretty loud - sitting outside would make it quieter.
Love love love Storico. Nothing like some good homemade pasta and red wine to start off the week on a good note!
We always love coming to Storico Fresco. A true neighborhood gem!
Dinner was absolutely fabulous! The service was attentive, food was delicious and it was 1/2 off wine so that was a plus!
Delicious food and outstanding service. Overall good experience although it was very noisy.
Storico Fresco is one of my favorite spots for authentic Italian food in Atlanta! Evenings are more crowded and energetic, while it makes a great lunch spot for more casual meetings or for groups.
Great food, authentic Italian ingredients and preparation.
