Stonewood Grill & Tavern - Wellington Ratings and Reviews
A good local restaurant, and they try hard. I don't find the food that great though. It's more than adequate, but not terrific. Overdone pork chops and some spinach. Happy hour is really just a few dollars off some of the wines/liquors, not two-for-one type. So we go occasionally, but ....however, to be fair, it seemed very busy.
The food is great but the key is to order only one course. They haven't learned how to time courses. As two folks in our party were eating their soups, the entrees came out. We sent them back and were promised the food wouldn't be dried out when it was re-served. When the soup was finished a couple of minutes later, the entrees were served. They clearly were dried out and over cooked. We didn't bother to complain. While 2 people from our group of 4 were finishing entrees, the waitress dropped the dessert menu off. We're not slow eaters and this has happened before. So either eat only one course or insist at the beginning that they serve you slowly. The food is great.
Our reservation was honored almost on time but it appeared to be a busy evening . Seating was nice and the service was fine perhaps a bit slow but again due to the crowds. Food was excellent and thoroughly enjoyed by the six of us. A bit noisy at first but as the crowds diminished it was very tolerable and being at a round table assured hearing all our conversations as well as tasting others choices. Thoroughly enjoyable, great food and atmosphere.
Usually consistently good, evening spoiled by inexperienced front desk staff who told us our reserved table was being cleared when we arrived for our reservation, but then had to wait for another 25 minutes to be seated. Had to ask them why it was taking so long. As a party of 4, was amazed that a six top remained empty from the time of our original reservation until we left. Otherwise food and wait staff were both good.
We found the grilled salmon to be overly salty. I have not noticed this on previous occasions. It was so over seasoned I could not finish it. I would like to see a freshly grilled salmon entree - preferably a choice for the healthier Alaskan salmon - even if the cost is more.
The usual good food and service. Had a coupon that turned out to have expired. We told the waiter, no problem, but he took it to the manager who came to our table and said it would be honored. Not the first time the facility put customer satisfaction at the top of its priority list.
My husband and I had a delicious meal. The Stonewood salad was great. We both had fish I had the flounder and he had the grouper. Both were excellent. My mother in law on the other hand did not fair as well. Being St. Patrick's day she ordered the special corned beef and cabbage. The potatoes were hard and the corn beef tough. It was really inedible but to their credit they quickly replaced it with a delicious salmon dinner which she thoroughly enjoyed. We would definitely go back.
We had reservations for dinner last Sunday and were seated promptly in a large booth. Our server was friendly and efficient. Our meal was great from the yummy pretzel bread rolls to our delicious pasta. We also had some reasonably priced house wine. All in all, it was an enjoyable experience.
Always have had a good meal here. Suggest you get a reservation on Open Table or call. Wi5h a reservation never have waited more than 10 minutes for them to set up. I wish the entrance was more open ; tough to get in/out of the door when arriving/leaving; especially when people stand at the entrance way and block access.
My meal was good but my wife ordered one of the specials off the menu when she got her food it did not look anything like the picture,it was all dried she should have sent it back but everyone had there food and she did not want hold everyone up,these is not the first time we were disappointed in the restaurant
