Not as impressed as I expected. Food was mediocre— I had the Asian chicken salad and it came with massive pieces of lettuce , a small amount of sliced chicken, over slightly chewy noodles. I was excited to try the “house-made” key lime pie, and here was where the disappointment deal was sealed: it was awful! No lime taste at all, horrible and bland crust, and the filling tasted plastic and packaged. Compared to the key lime from Bonefish Grill or even Costco, this was inedible. After one bite, I left it under the napkin, paid the bill and left.
I am a fan of Stonewood, and have been there several times. Therefore, this is a constructive feedback: everything was ok, in particular the service, which was outstanding. The server was anticipating our needs (such as refills) and did a great job. What failed this time was the meal. I had ordered a medium-well steak. It was undercooked and a significant part of it could not be eaten due to the excess of muscle tissue. I was tempted to send it back, but we had to wait a long time for the meals and I did not want to further delay it. Also, the portions seem to have been reduced since last time I have been there.
I hope this was just a glitch that will not happen again.
Always amazing service and the food has been great every time we went.
Poor communication at the hostess station. We asked for a table because we a handicapped person in our
Party. They refused without calling the manager. They purposely sat us a booth who h has a step up. The handicapped had to stand with a cane. They sat us at The worst booth at The back of the restaurant. The manager came over to the table after about 15 minutes of waiting and assured us of a table. They eventually sat us at a table. The waiter was excellent although we had to wait quite a long time for our order. The waiter had a great personality and be was very accomodating. On the bright side the food was excellent. I would recommend the food..however the hostess and their r treatment of handicapped guest was a nightmare.
I have had Stonewood recommended by several friends so I was very excited to try it. The kitchen was EXTREMELY slow. Which happens from time to time, but when our food finally came 2 of the 3 dishes had clearly been sitting for quite a while waiting for the 3rd dish (which was hot and fresh). The food was just OK. I felt it was overpriced for the quality, but the portions were very large. The only reason I gave 3 stars was because our server, Guillermo was great. I may go back for happy hour but not to eat a meal.
Great Mother’s Day
Excellent food, location and ambiance!
Service is Great! The food iis amazing. The overall experience is outstanding
Great service. Good selection of food. If you have Guillermo serve you you're in for a special treat
In the past, we’ve enjoyed Stonewood. However, our last visit was a little lackluster. We reserved a quiet booth for our joint-birthday. When we arrived, we were seated at the booth near door/entry way. We asked if we could wait for a quieter spot in back—hostess was a little put out until a manager overheard and made it all right—she was so gracious. We were seated and waitress serving our table couldn’t be found for awhile and then getting desert and then getting bill. It was service usually experienced at a Chili’s not a higher caliber restaurant. Got the job done (eventually) but no extras or feeling taken care of as is the standard of a higher end restaurant. Manager checked on us and was so sweet to bring fresh bread (First basket was stale but basket manager brought was fresh and amazing). Side salad was delicious. Filet mignon was good but very very salty. Pork dish also good. $2 off of wine for happy hour and very good. Overall, would go back but restaurant needs to train hostesses and wait staff in better customer service—though shift manager was excellent and truly deserves her position in a high end restaurant.
We always enjoy dining at Stonewood!! We are greeted upon entering and everyone is always kind and helpful!! Our server for dinner this past time was Guilermo who was wonderful, personable, helpful, professional and helped to make our dining experience a Great One!! Another server that we also always enjoy is Jack who is also fantastic, kind, personable, helpful and is a great asset to the restaurant!! Dave, the owner is exceptional and we feel is the main reason for the success of the restaurant since he is always so accommodating, friendly and helpful in every way to make your dining experience a pleasure!! The food is always great and consistent and we love trying their specials from time to time as well!! We're looking forward to our next Fun time at Stonewood!!
When I made the reservation in the comments section I wrote “it’s my parents 55th anniversary, please make it special” I even called Friday and spoke to the host and she said our server would do something. Well absolutely NOTHING was done!! We were sat right by the kitchen and not a mention of their anniversary!! I was very disappointed. My parents go to this restaurant frequently and we’re treated like crap. I would not recommend this place to anyone! Next time will be Capital Grille who treat you exceptionally well and appreciate their patrons!!
Never disappoints. Love the Lobster Cob Salad. Dave always greets us with a big smile and a handshake.
The restaurant is always clean, the staff very friendly, the waiters always very pleasant and a pleasure.
The food is ALWAYS good..no matter what you order
we go 2 or 3 times a year as there are so many restaurants in Wesley Chapel/ New Tampa area today that we always give everyone a chance
Always good food and good service. Great place to take clients
The food never disappoints here! We had one minor issue with our reservation, but half of our party ended up being late anyway so it worked out in the end.
Love this place so much, we’re going back tonight!
The food was delicious and the service was awesome!
The owner/manager is amazing walking around and checking on everyone.
The atmosphere is nice and there is a lot of friend and family feel to the place.
I love the ahi tuna appetizer, wish they would offer a main course ahi tuna seared steak!!!
Loved the menu. Food was amazing. Great service. Would go back.
Always feel like a valued customer at Stonewood. Owner / manager always stops by the table to say hi. Wait staff is so friendly and helpful. Food is fantastic. Make a reservation because this place is always busy.
They always do a great job. Food is excellent
We were celebrating my daughters college graduation and couldn’t have more happy with everything. Everyone was so nice and the food was delicious. Thanks for making a special day great.
Our only complaints were that because of the USF graduation this week they did not have the regular lunch menu available, and the very dishes we can for were not available. Also, the chef must have had a different definition of what rare men’s. My burger was way over cooked, but I ate it anyway. Usually on of my favorite places, but not this week!!
Fantastic place to celebrate a recent USF graduate post commencement. Service was great and owner even stopped by with the USF President who was kind enough to take a photo with our graduate. I have been to this location for lunch and dinner previous times and am happy to recommend. A huge thank you to the staff and owner for making the evening special and providing a wonderful environment for our family to celebrate!
Great service and great food!!
Certainly a good value for the price!
I have been going to this Stonewood since it opened. The first couple of times were rough, and because of that, I got to know the managing partner. Over the years, he and I (along with my parents), have become very friendly. Now, I just send him a message that I am coming in, and we have no issues. Unfortunately, this time, my dad's salmon was undercooked, but they sent it back, and made it right. They even adjusted the bill for us (which wasn't necessary-but that's how well-treated we are). Dave runs a tight ship, and his staff is very well-trained.
Easter dinner was very good. Mahi-mahi was dlish- moist and very well seasoned. Large piece served with 2 sides. I was able to choose which sides I wanted which was nice. Seated close to my reservation time. Server was attentive. Will return again. Good value for size and choice of entree’s
Food and drink was exceptional! Service was not without minor errors, but we were very pleased.
We always enjoy eating at Stonewood Grill, and Easter Sunday was no exception. Our only disappointment was the table we requested when we made the reservation was already occupied.
With a reservation for Easter Sunday dinner, we were given the table right by the door and maitre'd stand, so was not the most intimate of locations! The roasted leg of lamb Easter dinner was fatty and very tough, a bit of a disappointment. The sauce, however, was very good as were the sides (roasted potatoes, asparagus, and salad). Service, including freshly baked bread, was friendly, helpful, and efficient as always.
Two of my guests ordered flounder and then the waitress told us they were out of flounder instead of telling us upfront that they were out of flounder. She didn't give us any straws. We had to ask another waitress for some straws. We had to ask for bread. I ordered the leg of lamb that I hadn't had in a long time but I didn't care for the way it was prepared.
Great meal & serves 👍
We found the food delicious. Everything was cooked perfectly and the pretzel bread was wonderful. Although our waiter was pleasant, he was not as attentive as I would like. We had to call him over several times for basic follow up (refill on alchohol drink, first round of bread...). In fairness it was a holiday however this did not appear to be the issue.
We would go back as the food was wonderful.
We arrived on time for our 1:30pm rsvp and had a five minute wait for our table on Easter Sunday. Very acceptable. Our waiter, Thomas, was alert and responsive throughout the entire meal. The Easter lamb special was great, with the option of swapping out side orders easily and an up charge for onion soup that was exactly the price difference between items (some places seem to use a larger up charge than seems warranted). Our entire meal for two, including two splits of champagne and a glass of house made sangria, plus one dessert and taxes+tip, was just under $100.
Easter Special of roast lamb with veggies was excellent, particularly the sauce
A warm greeting both on arrival and an ever present Manager who is available but not obtrusive. Food choices and prices are very attractive and the execution of each dish is a credit to kitchen staff.
This place is one of my favorites. Everyone from the hostess, bartender, waiter on down are attentive to your needs. It's very refreshing to dine at a restaurant in Florida where service is outstanding.
Always great! Glad to have Stonewood in our area! Dave and his crew never disappoint.
Waited 30 minutes for our order, too along. Hardly saw our server.
I ordered steak stuffed with cheese there was no cheese in it. It was like a regular steak.
Came with potaties that were disgusting looking. They looked red and shiny...have a picture but to large to upload.
My husband ordered shrimp and scallops. Shrimp were good scallops were rubbery.
We normally dont have this type of food...highly disappointed
