Stonewood Grill & Tavern - Port Orange Ratings and Reviews
I had a great meal. Special appreciation goes to Aidan at the front desk. His upbeat personality and smile set the stage for a good night. And he was courteous enough to follow up to ask how my meal was after I had finished. It’s those kinds of touches that separate ‘dining’ from ‘fine dining’, and I appreciated his input towards elevating my dining experience.
Normally the food is great and service is on par. However for their thanksgiving dinner that was not the case. It wasn’t so busy that there was anyone was waiting on a table and yet 10-15 minutes went by that the server didn’t come by to refill the one basket of bread left for 6 people. When we saw her again and asked the bread that was brought out was hard and cold. The thanksgiving meal was not that impressive. The picture showed three thick slices of carved turkey and a good portion of stuffing and mashed potatoes with green beans. However what me and my girlfriend got was one slice of white meat and a hand full of dark meat set to the side. The portion of stuffing was small enough that the slice of turkey hid it until moved. My girlfriend skipped the green beans for extra mashed potatoes and got 3 times as much as me. After it was all done my parents had some left overs because they didn’t get the thanksgiving meal and put 2 rolls to be boxed up with their meal. After getting home the saw only one roll was boxed. I’ve been to this location a few times and never had an issue. Maybe it was just the holiday.
Went to Stonewood for Thanksgiving dinner. Was disappointed in how little food was served for the price. The "Thanksgiving feast" they advertised consisted of a small plate with some turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, small cup of cranberry relish, and undercooked green beans on it. No sweet potatoes, nor any other vegetable other than the almost-raw green beans, and very little gravy. It did include a slice of pie for dessert, but I guess I'm used to the Thanksgiving "feasts" served in restaurants up North where I'm from. They always include soup or salad, at least 2 different veges, both white and sweet potatoes, and plenty of gravy to go with it all.
Thanksgiving dinner with family. Stonewood Grill is consistently good and their Thanksgiving dinner was no exception. I had been a little apprehensive, not knowing what to expect, but was pleasantly surprised. Turkey was very moist and serviced with mashed potatoes, dressing, green beans and a fresh cranberry sauce. Dinner also came with pumpkin or pecan pie. A great value at $24.95 person.
Our waitperson was Tonya. Very professional and welcoming.
Friendly and professional upscale appointed establishment with superior quality food and service. Polite and attentive staff. Food well timed and requests happily met. Nice atmosphere and comfortable seating in main dining room. Prices moderately expensive but not prohibitive.
My husband & I live in Ponce Inlet & we dine at Stonewood in Port Orange once a week & usually enjoy dinning there but this last Thursday Nov 23 - Thanksgiving had 6 family members join us for Dinner at 3:30 & TOTALLY DISSAPOINTED IN THE FOOD, AMOUNT OF FOOD & SERVICE THE ENTIRE TIME AT STONEWOOD - the Turkey was about two little pieces, very hard green beans couldn’t chew them & the dressing & the mashed Potatoes were the size of a small mellon scoop - VERY UNWORTHY OF THIS $24.95 per plate - would not recommend for Holidays EVER - Karen Lozicki - 407-221-7603
LONG STORY SHORT, IT WASN’T WORTH IT AT ALL
We went there on Thanksgiving Day and had a good dinner. No one ordered the turkey special because we all wanted seafood. Dinner was excellent, our waitress was very friendly and attentive. The restaurant was very crowded but our dinner was served quickly. Our meals were excellent and the ambience was great. Because it was so busy, it was a little noisy, but not too bad that we couldn't have a good conversation at our table. The seats were comfortable, although the booth was a little tight. I would recommend this restaurant.
This was our 3rd visit to Stonewood Grill and all visits we have been impressed with the food, service and management. Everyone is friendly, like they know you personally and the food is made to perfection. Everything is top notch! A kudos goes out to Jason (manager) and Maria (waitress) (and the rest of staff & chefs). Everyone works well together.
The Tuscan chicken dinner was excellent. Skip the crab crusted Flounder, it was mushy and tasteless and the crab crust was more like red pepper spread with crab in it. I wanted something different and this time it didn’t work out. The carrot cake was good - kind of dense with gobs of icing - Publix does a better job. Have to say that this was the first time we had a fail there. We will definitely go again.
My wife and I love to come here while visiting Daytona Beach. We usually sit at the bar and enjoy but decided to sit in a booth this time. Good service and consistent good food. I had a steak and my wife had the lamb chops. Both were good and prepared as desired. This is not a high end steak house but always a consistent favorite. Much better than Long Horns or Outback.
The Prime Rib was cooked to perfection. According to my wife , the Grilled Salmon with Blueberry Sauce was an unexpectedly great combination of flavors. Who would have thought blueberries would agree with grilled fish? Very in inventive. We were in the area for the anniversary of our first date and couldn't of found a better location to start the evening.
We have eaten there several times and have never been disappointed. The new seasonal additions to the menu were very good. We enjoy the happy hour. James was our server and did an exceptional job with service and attention to detail.
The reception, server and manager were all great. The kitchen took a long time to serve our food, 1 hour from when we sat down. I think they were having a meltdown. Management apologized and offered a free dessert which was really nice. I would give them a second chance. Everyone is entitled to a bad day. The food was great!
We usually love this Stonewood location but our fish was not fresh smelling and was overcooked. Also the server did not bring bread until we asked about it which was after app's were ordered. The server seemed bored and was not very attentive. We had to inquire about specials. We almost felt like you didn't want us there...
I got a special cocktail which was barely chilled and it had no garnish at all. It was very plain and half full. I have a pic of it but can't get it sized for this review site.
We hope it will be better next time!
As usual, the food was excellent, the service was great, and the service was wonderful. Our server, Parker was very helpful and professional. The Bruchetta was exceptional. Our entrees were very tasteful and cooked to perfection. The Creme delay was the best we've had. Our visit made my wife's birthday very memorable .
Food was excellent! We had the stuffed beef medallions and a fresh fish. We really like that there are options for sides, some of which are healthy. We tried the orange cake for dessert - it is seasonal but worth the calories. Our server was new and really tried hard to do a good job; his trainer checked on us often. We will definitely go back! We had a booth this visit, and I will request one again. There were several large parties there celebrating different events, and the booth allowed us some privacy.
Stonewood restaurant is not new to us. We had very good service. They had a special menu with 4 entrees each for $16.99. I had a delicious shrimp dish with quinoa and vegetables. My husband had sliced pork marsala with about a half a pound of fettuccine. He also had a bowl of lobster bisque, which he said was delicious too. We had wine and coffee but too full to be tempted to have dessert. Our other two friends were equally happy with their meals. We definitely will go back again.
