Stonewood Grill & Tavern - Ormond Beach Ratings and Reviews
This visit I again had the Prime Rib, and it is now the 2nd time out of 3 that it was tough! I have had better grades of beef for less money? Also, you bartenders need to learn that if there going to be your server that I expect the same as a waitress or waiter. After all I believe they would like to tipped the same as a server, so at a minimum at the very least I expect them to check in with me if the meal is meeting my expectations?
We booked a last minute reservation on a Sat evening and had no problem. Had a group of 6. We were seated right away but, put a corner booth/table where one chair was smashed into a corner and could not accommodate anyone sitting there. When we asked the server to pull the table out, he just stared at us and walked away. Our actual server was very nice but just a bit inexperienced. As she took our order, she had all the menus in her hand and one slipped and caught one of our guests right in the eye. Then brought food to table before clearing away the salad and bread plates. Soup was served luke warm. The final insult was being solicited to purchasing gift cards. Totally inappropriate for waitstaff to have to sell gift cards at the tables.. we all spent over $75 on dinner and drinks. I have never been approached in any other establishment this way and was very put off. I feel sorry for the waitstaff having to solict tableside..there are many other ways to better handle this. This is a pricier restaurant with entrees ranging from $18 to $32.
We had a lovely dinner. The bread basket was excellent, warm soft pretzel sticks and other delicious breads. Our brushetta appetizer was large enough for 2, even 3. I'm not a big fan of brushetta, but this was outstanding. I had a special salmon dish prepared with a blueberry compote, a very unusual combination which was very good. House wine was also good and we got happy hour prices. I would definitely return.
5 asparagus covered by a dollop of mashed patatoes and 5 ruined lamb chops. My wife had a chicken pot pie. Taste was good, presention looked messy. We have had much better times at the stonewood. We had a pleasant evening together but we'll avoid them for the time being. Hard to find good restaurants in the area.
It wasn't our first dinner in Stonewood. Actually, we come here 5-6 times per year. Food and service are always as expected - delicious and classy. Their wine list is ok. We liked the wines they used to have, but do not serve anymore. Still, highly recommend.
Really enjoyed our visit this week. Jeremy was our server and he was very informative and super friendly. He made our experience very enjoyable. After dinner, we sat by the outdoor fire pit and listened to a very nice acoustical guitarist. Good music, not blaring loud and relaxing. Food was done as desired and as always, delicious.
From start to finish everything was delicious. The red sangria was fabulous. Had the stone bits and chowder for appetizers. Both were great. I had the salmon special with asparagus and mixed grains with a touch of blueberries delicious! Would definitely recommend and go back. Our server Erik was great also!
We go to Stonewood on a regular basis. If it’s the weekend, make a reservation. Because it’s a busy place. The wine and cocktail selection is excellent, and seats in the bar area are first come, first served. The house salad is one of the best in town. They make their own dressings, and I highly recommend the raspberry vinegarette. Fresh bread is also served upon arrival. The menu is varied and everything I’ve tried is delicious. My ‘go-to’ favorites are the 14 oz. New York Strip steak , or the 9 oz. filet mignon. I’ve had these many times and the cut is always prime, and they are cooked to perfection every single time! Deserts are great, key lime pie and the chocolate cake with ice cream are a good way to cap off an excellent meal. If you’re local or just visiting our city and beach, you can’t go wrong making a trip to Stonewood on A1A in Ormond Beach.
Meal presentation was far below previous visits
Was promised seating in side dining room and then was told upon arrival that it was no longer available even though no one showed up to seat there while we were in dining room
Waiter was unfriendly and delivered the wrong drink and even though my husband , as well as, myself stated what I would like and when I said that it was not what I ordered, he became argumentative and was not friendly from start to end of meal
Serving sizes were down, quality of food was down, service was down
Stonewood's has always been one of our favorite restaurants, but left very disappointed
Excellent menu options for appetizers, entrees and drinks, exceptional service. The only factor needing a little improvement was the dessert menu - the options for dessert were mundane at best. Woodstone needs to offer dessert options with more creativity, to complement the remainder of the unforgettable experience it currently offers. However, that shortcoming would not preclude me from going back to Woodstone any and every opportunity I get. I became one of their best fans. The smoked salmon appetizer, in particular, was the best I ever had. So was the grouper, which I accompanied with the rice pilaf and steamed asparagus. I accompanied the meal with a Heinz Eiffel Riesling. It was an excellent dinner!
Stonewood Grill & Tavern is a choice my husband and I have made many times for dinner. We have always enjoyed the atmosphere, service and food, not to mention the well mixed cocktails. As usual the evening was very enjoyable but the steak my husband had (7 oz. filet) was quite tasteless and the fish I had (similar to sea bass) was very thin and still had the skin. Accompaniments were very good but the main items were disappointing. For the price I expect all to be excellent! I would still recommend to friends and we will return to try again.
Started off with the scallops on fire and they were delightful. The bread basket given was just perfect with an assortment of bread. I might have loved the pretzel the most. We also had the filet which was cooked perfect with a side of button mushrooms that were so tasty. The crab crusted flounder was very tasty, coming from a seafood eater I was very impressed. Oh and we had to end it with the chocolate cake dessert that was omg perfect. Thank you for a great dinner and not rushing us, because we were one of the last tables. Service was perfect, I wish I could remember my waitress name because she was very knowledgeable and gave us perfect service. Waters were filled, nothing left on table after each coarse and treated us great. Thank you again
We had a great evening at the restaurant. I love the way it is decorated and there is plenty of space. The food was amazing. They had a special for $30 this evening for an app, meal and dessert and it was a great deal. I had the wedge salad, the stuffed fish which came with rice and fresh vegetables, and key lime pie. My husband had the seared ahi tuna app. We ended up sharing everything and it was plenty for both of us. The service was great. We waited the appropriate amount of time between the different courses and never had empty drinks. The server got my drink order wrong but it wasn't a big deal and I drank the wine he brought me (versus the martini I ordered). I never brought it to his attention - I'm sure he would have fixed it. We will go back again for sure. We recommend this place!
Buffalo shrimp starter was yummy and different from what we've had before. For my entree, I had the flounder with crab on top and is was okay, a bit underseasoned but the sides were delicious. My fiancé had the lamb chops and he absolutely loved them. Kara was our server and she was so sweet. Did a marvelous job and offered insight on food and drinks.
Our Proposal diner was hosted at The Stone wood Grill it was me and my fiancé first time dining at the restaurant we were asking our close friends and some family to be apart of our wedding day. Unfortunately my work day was a tad hecked so I was late getting to the Restaurant my fiancé and the rest of the party had to wait for me to get there. Our waiter was phenomenal he assisted us in everything we needed. He waited on me to get there but he had my guest well taken care of. The food was amazing the Atmosphere was great. We had a awesome experience. And would like to thank the staff at the Ormond Beach site and our waiter Travis for his exceptional service. -Latasha & Ebony
